Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Not intending to just watch as these demonic cultivators worked away at the barrier keeping the Star Shattering safe from the constant flood of demonic cultivators, Xuan Hao took a step forward and appeared directly above the central part of the barrier where two of the stronger True Demon Realm experts were slowly trying to weaken one of the swords that made up the barrier by constantly attacking it from a safe distance.

”This barrier should at most be able to last for another half year before it breaks.”

”Indeed, though I do feel a bit worried about angering the person who created this barrier.”

”No need, the great Demon Lord who gave us this task already said that none of the Earth Immortals from the central region would be leaving for the next year. Even if the person who created this barrier wants to come after we destroy it, we should have more than enough time to safely retreat.

Not to mention, if we didn’t take on this task, we would be sent to one of the frontlines and have to face the inevitable retaliation from the nearby Blue Sea Empire in a year.”

”True… At least we are allowed to retreat after we finish destroying this barrier. Far better than those people forced to the frontline…”

Unaware of the fact that Xuan Hao had arrived above the giant sword that they were in the process of slowly destroying, the two True Demon Realm demonic cultivators casually chatted with each other without any worry on their faces.

Although the giant sword gave off a terrifying aura far beyond that of the Soul Ascension Realm, they had already grown used to it and understood that the sword didn’t have any ability to harm them as long as they kept a certain distance from it.

Hm… Seems like these demonic cultivators aren’t trying to destroy the barrier just because they want to, but because of the instructions of a Demon Lord Realm demonic cultivator…

Narrowing both his eyes as he listened to their conversation, Xuan Hao could not help frowning to himself as he wondered why the Demon Lord Realm demonic cultivator didn’t just outright destroy the barrier and instead instructed these weaker True Demon Realm demonic cultivator to do so.

After all, with the strength of a Demon Lord Realm demonic cultivator being comparable to someone at the Dao Seed Realm, it wouldn’t take them more than a few hours to break the barrier and allow the weaker demonic cultivators to cross over and attack what was now the Star Shattering Sect’s territory.

In the end, the only reason he could think of was that the Demon Lord Realm demonic cultivator didn’t dare to do so out of fear that it would provoke the creator of the barrier. Instead deciding to use these weaker True Demon Realm demonic cultivators to first test the waters.

So… If I kill these demonic cultivators, the Demon Lord behind them will likely find out…

Thinking this to himself as he glanced over the two True Demon Realm demonic cultivators, Xuan Hao didn’t immediately kill them and instead began to use his divine sense to search the surroundings for any traces of the Demon Lord Realm demonic cultivator that should be observing the situation from afar.

Ah! There you are!

Not taking too long to spot an old man deep in meditation on top of a small mountain a short distance away from the barrier where the True Demon Realm demonic cultivators were working hard to weaken it.

Although nothing stood out about him and even Xuan Hao couldn’t sense the old man’s cultivation base, the fact that he couldn’t sense the old man’s cultivation base was more than enough to confirm his identity, as there would be no way an ordinary old man would be silently meditating on a mountain in the Frozen Wastelands.

The other thing that gave it away was the fact that this old man was far too large. Standing more than three meters tall with massive muscles that made him look a bit comical.

”Hm? Someone is watching me!” Of course, as Xuan Hao’s divine sense swept over him, the old man also opened his eyes with a look of surprise. Not expecting someone to find him when he had done so well in restraining his own aura. ”It should be the Earth Immortal who noticed something happening to his formation!”

Whoosh~!

Not having to guess the identity behind the divine sense, the old man jumped into the air and began to search the surroundings before spotting Xuan Hao who had already taken the initiative to show himself.

”You should be the one who created this formation! Don’t you know that creating such things inside the Frozen Wasteland is against the agreement between us demonic cultivators and your central powers!?”

Nope, no idea…

”Hmph! You should know that such a violation means that you no longer-”

”I’m not from one of the central powers. Not to mention, aren’t you demonic cultivators already invading every empire and kingdom surrounding the Frozen Wasteland? Do you expect me to care about a non-aggression pact that I’m not even a part of in this kind of situation?” Seeing that the old demonic cultivator seemed intent on continuing to talk, Xuan Hao decided to interrupt him before things got out of control.

”It’s good that you- Huh? Not from one of the central powers…?” Finding himself stun locked by this, the old demonic cultivator seemed to freeze on the spot. Not knowing how to answer.

Indeed, like Xuan Hao had said, they had indeed violated the non-aggression pact by attacking the surrounding empires and kingdoms… And if he truly wasn’t a part of the central powers, he had no reason to even follow the non-aggression agreement in the first place…

Swish-!

Taking advantage of the demonic cultivator who was still in a state of confusion, Xuan Hao decided to make the first move by using his recently acquired sword soul to attack in combination with his Dao of the Sword.
