Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 980: Chapter 984

Yuan Zining glanced around: ”Where are those two chairs over there?”

Aunt Jiang hesitated a bit: ”Yesterday Elder Yuan asked me to tidy up the guest rooms in the backyard. There were quite a few sheets and duvet covers to wash, so I took them over to hang and dry on the chairs.”

Yunyi’s lips curved slightly: That reason is really far-fetched; this woman is really bold.

In her position, it’s really not appropriate to say anything?

Just as she was thinking about how to handle it, unexpectedly, Yuan Zining, the little one, directly put her in place: ”Then Aunt Jiang, you can fetch some food for the kitchen and have your meal.”

These words almost made Yunyi laugh out loud.

Unexpectedly, though young, the little guy understands everything.

For a moment, Aunt Jiang’s face looked very grim.

But Yuan Zining’s expression was very firm, forcing Aunt Jiang to leave with an embarrassed expression.

Yuan Zining didn’t care whether she had fetched the food or not: ”Aunt, Sister-in-law, let’s eat.”

Wan Ruhua also felt that the maid went a bit too far, but as an outsider, it wasn’t appropriate for her to say anything.

Regardless of Aunt Jiang’s character, however, the dishes are genuinely well-prepared.

Yunyi has felt a bit off lately, but the dishes on the table were just right for her palate, sweeping away her previous displeasure. She greeted Wan Ruhua: ”Sister-in-law, this dish is well-made, try some.”

Saying so, she used the communal chopsticks to serve some food into her bowl, and of course, did not forget little Yuan Zining.

After eating, Yuan Zining impatiently said: ”Aunt, let’s go, I’ll take you to see your room.”

Yuan Yuxun had reserved a room for Yunyi in the second courtyard; Yunyi had only stayed there once.

As the three headed toward the backyard, Yunyi looked at Yuan Zining and asked: ”Is Aunt Jiang now a live-in maid?”

Yuan Zining shook his head: ”No, she mentioned it to Grandpa before, but Grandpa didn’t agree.”

It seems she needs to remind her teacher in the afternoon. People with such little schemes are best not kept around to avoid trouble at home.

Entering the second courtyard, Yuan Zining ran ahead: ”Aunt, wait until I tell you to come in.”

Wan Ruhua saw this and said: ”Looks like your little nephew has prepared a big surprise for you.”

Yunyi was about to speak when she heard Yuan Zining say: ”Aunt, come in.”

Yunyi and Wan Ruhua exchanged a glance and walked into the room.

But as soon as she saw the situation inside the room, she was directly stunned there.

Yuan Zining, with a face asking for praise, said: ”Aunt, do you like it?”

The moment Yunyi came to her senses, her eyes suddenly welled up. Before, it was just a joke between her and her teacher, but unexpectedly, he really got her a Canopy Bed: ”Where did this bed come from?”

Yuan Zining, smiling, hopped in front of Yunyi: ”Didn’t you jokingly say before that if this house and furniture had a Canopy Bed, it would be even better?”

Yunyi walked to the bed, reaching out to touch it. The material was yellow rosewood, but it looked very new. She repeated the question: ”Where did this bed come from?”

Yuan Zining pointed to a dresser nearby: ”This bed and dresser are a set, originally prepared by Grandpa Xuanyuan for his youngest daughter’s dowry. Unfortunately, Xuanyuan Aunt didn’t like this style; she preferred the Western style.

Last month, Grandpa went to visit Grandpa Xuanyuan’s house and heard him mention this. Grandpa immediately expressed interest in seeing the Canopy Bed, and how Grandpa discussed it with Grandpa Xuanyuan, I don’t know. Anyway, in a few days, the Canopy Bed and that dresser were delivered.”

Yunyi noticed that even the bedding on the bed had been replaced, feeling a surge of emotion.

Wan Ruhua interjected at this moment: ”This bed is truly beautiful. It’s the first time I’ve seen such intricately crafted work.”

Yunyi smiled: ”This bed indeed required a lot of thought; it really benefits me.”

Just as she finished speaking, she heard behind her: ”That’s not correct; this bed is something Elder Yuan exchanged for something else; it’s the Yuan Family’s property.”

The three of them in the room all turned to look back.

Yunyi, who had initially suppressed her anger, suddenly felt it rise again: ”You are just a maid in the Yuan Family, why do you love to chatter so much?”

Upon hearing Yunyi refer to her as a maid, Aunt Jiang’s face immediately turned dark: ”I’m a distant relative of Elder Yuan, how can you talk like that?”

As the three walked toward the backyard, Yunyi looked at Yuan Zining and asked: ”Is Aunt Jiang now a live-in maid?”
