Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 963: Chapter 967: Excessive Sleepiness

Thinking about her daughter-in-law and daughter both being able to attend university, Jiang Jingya was in an exceptionally good mood: ”Jiayuan, go to the kitchen and bring a bowl of the Silver Ear Snow Pear Soup to your sister-in-law.”

Huo Jiayuan glanced at Yunyi’s belly: ”Alright.”

As she walked to the kitchen, she said, ”Mom said it’s too cold today and thought you’d like to have something warm when you come in, so she had Auntie Zhang make some Silver Ear Snow Pear Soup.”

Yunyi naturally understood Jiang Jingya’s intention: ”Thank you, Mom.”

Jiang Jingya smiled warmly and said, ”There’s no need for thanks with Mom, and besides, you’re carrying two now, it’s only right to take extra care of you.”

At this moment, Huo Shanhe also came out from the room, looking like he had just taken a bath.

Huo Jingrui and Yunyi both greeted at the same time: ”Dad.”

Huo Shanhe smiled: ”You’re back.”

He glanced at Yunyi’s belly, then turned to Huo Jingrui: ”I heard from your mom that Yunyi is pregnant. You should take good care of her. If you’re too busy, let Yunyi stay in the compound, and your mom and Auntie Zhang can look after her.”

Huo Jingrui quickly declined: ”No need, I won’t be going on any missions soon. I’ll take good care of her.”

Huo Jiayuan came out with a bowl of Silver Ear Red Dates Snow Pear Soup: ”Sister-in-law, try it and see if you like it.”

Actually, Yunyi wasn’t feeling very hungry, but she didn’t want to refuse her mother-in-law’s thoughtful gesture. Thankfully, it was just a small bowl, so she didn’t make a fuss.

Seeing her finish spoonful after spoonful, Jiang Jingya was all smiles: ”Alright, go to bed early and rest.”

Huo Jingrui took Yunyi upstairs: ”Dad, Mom, little sister, you all should get some rest early too.”

The next morning, Huo Jingrui got up early, and after getting ready, he whispered in Yunyi’s ear: ”Yi’er, are you coming back to the base with me, or are you going to take a later bus by yourself?”

Yunyi, still drowsy, instinctively reached out to hug him upon hearing Huo Jingrui’s voice: ”I’ll go back with you.”

Seeing her too sleepy to even open her eyes, he said: ”Then sleep for another ten minutes. I’ll pack breakfast for you to eat later at the family quarters.”

Yunyi softly murmured an ”Mm” and quickly fell back asleep.

They had returned late the previous night, chatted for a long time, and with the added drowsiness of pregnancy, she fell asleep almost instantly.

Seeing her son come downstairs, Jiang Jingya pointed at the bag on the sofa: ”Take these with you when you leave.”

Before Huo Jingrui could ask, Jiang Jingya continued: ”Inside are not just some nutritional supplements, but also some dried fruits and preserves. Let me know what Yiyi likes, and I’ll prepare more for her.”

She said this while glancing upstairs: ”Is Yiyi awake yet?”

Huo Jingrui shook his head: ”Probably because of the pregnancy, she’s a bit sleepy. I’ll pack breakfast and take it straight to the family quarters.”

Jiang Jingya initially wanted Yunyi to stay, but considering the newlyweds hadn’t been married long, her son probably wouldn’t agree, so she held back: ”Son, take good care of Yiyi when you go back. If you can’t manage, send her back here.”

Huo Jingrui knew his mom meant well and nodded: ”Got it.”

He went to the kitchen to ask Auntie Zhang to help pack breakfast, placed the food his mom prepared in the car, then went upstairs to help Yunyi freshen up before carrying her to the car, placing a pillow and blanket in the back seat: ”Yi’er, I’ll drive slowly so you can sleep a bit more in the back.”

Yunyi naturally didn’t refuse and said quick goodbyes to her in-laws and her little sister before heading to the base with Huo Jingrui.

Huo Jiayuan watched the car drive off in the distance: ”My brother, really, wouldn’t it have been better for sister-in-law to stay in the compound? But he insists on having her return to the base early in the morning.”

Huo Shanhe and Jiang Jingya exchanged a glance, both feeling a little worried for Lu Licheng.
