Realized Game: I Hoarded 10 Billion Defense Towers

Shen Fei quickly summoned a [Teleportation Gate Tower], and with a SWISH, he left the top of Yang City’s walls.

WHOOSH!

His vision blurred for a moment, and Shen Fei appeared 8,000 km west of Qing City.

”Yu! Get on the [Ninth World] and run a test. See how our communications are holding up!”

Having teleported instantly to the west of Qing City, Shen Fei surveyed the special area before him, 8,000 km from the city. He immediately opened the [Forum] and started a conversation with Sun Yu.

Based on the experiences of other ”adventurous” players, Shen Fei knew that upon entering a special area with a [Shield], all communication channels, including the [Forum] and calls, would be blocked, which was not something he wanted. As the strongest person in Great Xia, perhaps even on the entire Blue Star, he couldn’t afford to lose contact with the outside world.

Before he left, he had told everyone that if they needed to communicate with him, they should go through Sun Yu. His confidence in being able to communicate with Sun Yu came from his [Ninth World]. The [Forum] and all other methods of communication would be blocked upon entering a special area, but the [Ninth World], that miraculous trading space, could not be blocked within them. It was because of this unblockable nature that Shen Fei could trade with Intelligent NPCs and Super Bosses inside the special areas via the [Ninth World].

Possessing the highest authority in the [Ninth World] was the source of Shen Fei’s confidence that he could maintain contact with others after entering a special area. As for his method of communicating with Sun Yu, it certainly wasn’t by talking directly in the [Ninth World]’s public trading channel for all to see. Instead, he planned to use special ”trade items,” such as a notebook or a voice recorder. He could pass the ”notebook” and ”voice recorder” back and forth via trades in the [Ninth World] to transmit information remotely.

Shen Fei felt there shouldn’t be any issues with this method, but he still needed to test it before entering the special area.

Of course, other people could also use the [Ninth World] to trade information this way. However, they could only do so in theory; in practice, it wasn’t feasible. For one, every trade made by other people incurred a transaction tax. But since Shen Fei had the highest authority in the [Ninth World], his own ”trades” were naturally free of charge. Furthermore, his dozens of ”Room Managers,” besides maintaining order, were also there to stop people from using the [Ninth World] for purposes other than trading. Anyone caught doing so would have their account banned immediately.

Because of this, no one dared to defy the rules. Trading privileges in the [Ninth World] were too important; nobody dared to mess around and risk losing their account. Therefore, this sort of thing could only be done by Shen Fei himself. It was a classic case of rules for thee, but not for me. He was the only one allowed—or rather, the only one who dared—to bend the rules.

”You got it! I’ll post the items right now!” Sun Yu quickly replied upon receiving the message from his boss, Shen Fei.

Earlier, while giving everyone their assignments, Shen Fei had already sent a private message telling Sun Yu to prepare the ”notebook” and ”voice recorder.” Now, Sun Yu had the two items ready to go.

WHOOSH!

Following Sun Yu’s message, Shen Fei opened the [Ninth World] and clicked ’confirm.’ A writable notebook and a voice recorder immediately appeared in his hands.

”Boss! Besides the [Heaven-Reaching Tower] [Secret Realm] getting tiered levels, many other [Secret Realms] have had their rules changed after the v4.4 update...”

Shen Fei opened the very ordinary notebook and saw the words Sun Yu had written inside.

”Good. Keep observing. Continue gathering data. Also, pay close attention to the monsters inherited from [Secret Realms] at a ten-thousand-fold rate! Don’t let anyone deliberately fail to clear a special [Secret Realm] just because they unlocked their [Experience Bar] and want to level up, which would cause monsters to materialize in the real world at that ten-thousand-fold rate!”

With a faint smile, Shen Fei took a pen from his inventory and quickly scribbled his reply in the notebook.

BEEP...

”Boss! This is the recording! Huang Yi told me earlier that they’ve found the game server for the player who inherited a [Divine Artifact]. They’re having it repaired on an expedited basis!”

After writing in the notebook, Shen Fei immediately turned on the voice recorder. He heard Sun Yu’s recorded voice with information about another matter.

”Good. This is quite important. Keep an eye on it. Report any news to me directly.”

He hit record and recorded his own requests regarding the investigation into the Game World.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

Once he had finished writing and recording, Shen Fei immediately placed the two items into a private trading area in the [Ninth World] that only he and Sun Yu could access. Then, as he watched, the two items vanished instantly.

”Boss! Received! The items are working perfectly!! I can see your writing and hear your voice!”

A few seconds later, Shen Fei received Sun Yu’s message. The communication method worked without a hitch.

”Good. Then I’m going into the special area. Once I’m inside, we’ll run another test! If it’s all clear, we’ll stick to this. We’ll maintain a fixed schedule, contacting each other at least once every 12 hours!”

After confirming his communication channel was working for now, Shen Fei gave Sun Yu his instructions and turned his attention to the translucent [Shield] before him, the entrance to the special area.

Before Shen Fei was the special area closest to Qing City. This zone, which was once only 200 km from Qing City, had, with Blue Star’s continuous expansion, moved to a distance of over 8,000 kilometers.

Shen Fei’s goal was to enter and investigate the special areas, but he didn’t immediately enter the largest one—the one that occupied the entire Pacific Ocean. The one he chose to enter first was the one closest to Qing City: a special area that had now grown to roughly 5,000 km in length and width.

Standing outside this special area, he could see that inside, it was a world of ice and snow. Every special area had a different environment. There were deserts, swamps, ice fields, and howling gales. And this special area, the first one Shen Fei chose to enter, was a world covered in ice and snow.

Looking at the scene within the special world, a series of speculations involuntarily surfaced in Shen Fei’s mind. If the [Shield] on this special area were to suddenly disappear after some version update, then all sorts of unparalleled landforms and terrains would appear across the planet! What would happen if an ice-themed special area near the equator lost its [Shield]?

The special areas. To put it nicely, they ”penned up” the vast majority of Intelligent NPCs and Super Bosses inherited from the Game World, who outnumbered humans by thousands, if not tens of thousands, of times. This prevented humanity from being wiped out by these inherited NPCs and bosses. But to put it bluntly, these places were actually ”malignant tumors” on the planet. Like the foreign concessions of old, they were uncontrollable and extremely hostile to humans, the native inhabitants of Blue Star.

Now, after the fourth inheritance of game abilities and the v4.6 and v4.7 updates, Shen Fei had set his sights on these special areas. While he wasn’t yet planning to use his planet-destroying power to wipe out every single one of these ”tumors” that had appeared on Blue Star, Shen Fei’s first objective was to level at least seven or eight special areas and ultimately uncover the true purpose of the Intelligent NPCs and Super Bosses within them. The way their heads would just explode the moment he asked about their purpose made Shen Fei intensely curious about the goals of these NPCs and bosses.

WHOOSH!

As he observed the special area’s [Shield], his thoughts drifting, Shen Fei waved his hand and summoned 100 [Defense Towers].

KRRR-TCH!

With that soft tearing sound, the incredibly tough and hard-to-break [Shield] was torn apart like paper by the [Defense Towers’] [Cluster Attack].

SWISH!

Dismissing the [Defense Towers], Shen Fei immediately flew through the newly opened hole. After waiting a few minutes for the damaged [Shield] to slowly repair itself, Shen Fei confirmed that he was indeed unable to log into the [Forum] and that all other forms of communication had been cut off.

WHOOSH!

Without a second thought, he opened the [Ninth World] again to run another test with Sun Yu. After confirming that their communication via notebook and voice recorder was still working, Shen Fei’s gaze sharpened as he looked out at the snow-covered world in the distance.
