Realized Game: I Hoarded 10 Billion Defense Towers

Chapter 12: Chapter 12: The Recharge Incident is Exposed, Under the Spotlight

Tower Master gear!

The highest grade—Orange quality!

After defeating the level 99 Super Boss of the Heaven-Reaching Tower—the Abyssal Executioner—Shen Fei obtained ten pieces of the highest-quality Tower Master gear. Tower Master gear was part of a newly developed game feature. Just like characters in a role-playing game, this new feature allowed a Tower Master to not only have skills but also wear equipment.

In the game, the newly introduced Tower Master gear was divided into Orange, Purple, Blue, Green, White, and Gray quality tiers.

Shen Fei was surprised. He hadn’t even started looking into the new Tower Master-related content yet. But just by clearing the Heaven-Reaching Tower, he had received a complete set of the highest-quality Tower Master gear as a bonus.

[Name: Belt (Part of the Executioner Set)]

[Quality: Orange]

[Increases Defense Tower Slots: 10]

[Increases effect of Tower Master range-type skills: 10%]

[Two-Piece Set Bonus: Grants the Tower Master 0.1% of the total Durability of all Defense Towers.]

[Five-Piece Set Bonus: The Defense Towers from slots added by equipment can be carried by the Tower Master.]

[Ten-Piece Set Bonus: Allows the Tower Master and the Crystal to merge, storing the Crystal inside the Tower Master’s body.]

Shen Fei opened one of the items, the Tower Master belt, and examined its Attributes.

Tower Master gear can increase the maximum number of Defense Towers? A single piece of Orange-quality gear adds ten empty tower slots?

Shen Fei immediately identified the most important function of Tower Master gear. Currently, his 512 Defense Towers had already reached the limit. He never thought that this new Tower Master gear could actually give him new empty tower slots. After reaching the Defense Tower limit, it was still possible to increase it further!

Thanks to the tenfold first-clear bonus, the final boss of floor 99 had dropped ten pieces of Orange gear all at once, and they were even a set. Each piece of this ten-piece set could give him new tower slots. This made Shen Fei ecstatic.

He clicked to equip the gear. Instantly, the small Tower Master avatar next to his Crystal was fully outfitted. Besides the belt, there were also a helmet, chest plate, gloves, bracers, pants, boots, vambraces, and various other components... Ten items in total. The ten pieces of gear added another one hundred empty Defense Tower slots. At the same time, his Combat Power shot up again...

I can carry Defense Towers with me now?

Looking at the second set bonus, Shen Fei grew even more excited. For a tower defense game, the biggest challenge was that Defense Towers could only be placed in fixed positions. Most of the time, they were immobile. This meant Defense Towers could only defend passively and couldn’t move to attack proactively. But now, thanks to the Tower Master gear, it seemed his Defense Towers could move.

SWOOSH!

Shen Fei immediately started testing and quickly selected ten Defense Towers. Then, with another swoosh, the enormous Defense Towers transformed into cylinders as thick as an arm... The ten cylinders attached themselves in a circle around the belt of the Tower Master avatar in the game. Then, as the ”Tower Master avatar” moved, the Defense Towers attached to its waist moved along with it...

This ability might not be that important in the game, but if it’s inherited into reality...

Having confirmed how to use the Tower Master gear, Shen Fei began to imagine the future. He would carry his Defense Towers with him. Then with a wave of his hand, he’d place them around him to fight. When the battle was over, with another wave, he’d instantly retract the countless Defense Towers. Effortless and cool!

This last set bonus is even more Invincible! The Tower Master can actually merge with the Crystal! The Crystal’s safety will increase countless times over!

Looking at the final set bonus, Shen Fei was even happier. Besides the drawback of immobile Defense Towers, another weakness of tower defense was the need to protect the Crystal. If the Crystal’s health was depleted, it didn’t matter how strong the Defense Towers were. The Crystal, which had to be placed in a fixed position, was the highest-priority item to protect. But once the Crystal could merge with the Tower Master—meaning that after the game’s features were inherited, the Crystal could merge with his body—the other major weakness of a Defense Tower Array would be solved in an instant.

Have you ever seen a mobile Crystal? The Crystal would no longer be a fixed, inanimate object but would be bound to him. If the person dies, the Crystal dies. If the person lives, the Crystal lives. This way, the Crystal’s security was invisibly increased many times over. As long as the person is alive, the Crystal is definitely alive. And if the person is dead, it doesn’t matter whether the Crystal is destroyed or not.

In the future, after inheritance, the Crystal’s massive health pool might even be added to my own... Even more Invincible!

”Not bad! Not bad!”

Quickly equipping all the gear and instantly merging the Crystal with the Tower Master avatar, a smile appeared on Shen Fei’s lips. This haul was more than acceptable!

Now, because of the Tower Master gear, his Defense Tower limit had instantly gone from 512 to 612. He could now upgrade another 100 Tenth Tier Defense Towers. Also, these 100 new Defense Towers could be carried with him...

Time to keep merging towers! Since this new Tower Master gear is so powerful, I need to get the Tower Master skills, home, steward, and Gemstones sorted out as soon as possible!

Shen Fei made a plan in his mind and prepared to pull another all-nighter. The purpose of this all-nighter was to keep recharging...

While Shen Fei continued merging his towers, he had no idea that the game’s Forum had just exploded. And, it wasn’t just the *Tower Defense of Ten Thousand Realms* Forum that had exploded. It was *all* the gaming forums. Even some news websites were seeing a massive surge in traffic...

The reason was that someone had posted an image on a major gaming community forum: an image showing the transaction history of someone who had spent over three hundred million in Krypton Gold on a small tower defense game. The image contained detailed information, including recharge times, amounts, and frequency. All the information was there, except for the identity of the person who made the payments. It even included the game the person played and their in-game character name.

[Game: Tower Defense of Ten Thousand Realms]

[Character Name: Skyrocketing]

The fact that Shen Fei had spent over three hundred million playing a game had been exposed. The ones who exposed him were the very same gaming companies that had called him countless times, trying to poach him for their own games, only to be blocked by him in the end. They had spent over a week trying to convince Shen Fei to play their games, but Shen Fei remained completely unmoved. He even blocked their numbers. And over that week, Shen Fei had actually recharged even more.

This infuriated the gaming companies that had bought his information. They had spent five million to purchase the information of a Krypton Gold mega-whale, but in the end, they got absolutely nothing out of it. Acting on the principle of ”if I can’t have it, no one can,” someone directly leaked Shen Fei’s transaction history...

Right now, the entire internet was discussing this tycoon who had spent three hundred million in Krypton Gold playing a game. Everyone had heard of Krypton Gold tycoons, but no one had ever heard of someone spending three hundred million. And in a niche tower defense game, no less! It was just too absurd! Every forum, community, and social media page exploded!

Because of the exposé, the niche game *Tower Defense of Ten Thousand Realms* instantly attracted the attention of countless players. Countless new accounts flooded into the game, wanting to see what was so magical about it. Countless other players flooded the *Tower Defense of Ten Thousand Realms* game Forum, hoping to find out more details.

And then, the old players who used to joke about ”Skyrocketing” on the Forum were dumbfounded.

What? He’s a real person? Not a shill planted by the game company? A real super-duper-mega-whale? He actually paid for it all?

Staring at the reposted pictures of the real transaction history, all the old players were stunned. Those players who had been teasing the ”shill” every day and telling him to ”keep up the good work” were all completely paralyzed...

This... this... Someone really fucking spent three hundred million to play a game? And on a trash-tier game like this, at that?

”1 million for the three-hundred-million-dollar whale’s WeChat!”

”Hello, Mr. Three Hundred Million, do you need a dog? The kind that went to college!”

”Mr. Three Hundred Million, look over here! I’m beautiful, with long legs and a flexible body...”

”I’m the Immortal Emperor from *Dream Immortal Realm*. Heard there’s a three-hundred-million Krypton Gold whale here. I’ve come to compete and see who can spend more!”

”I’m the Mushroom Enthusiast. Just came to see what a three-hundred-million-dollar whale looks like. Do you eat mushrooms?”

A massive number of new threads immediately flooded the game Forum. The content was all about ”Skyrocketing.” Moreover, quite a few new accounts with beautiful women as their avatars were clamoring to help ”Skyrocketing” ”fix his tower.” As for what kind of ”tower” they wanted to ”fix,” opinions varied. There were posts from people looking to be sugar babies, people trying to ride his coattails, and people asking for information...

There were even Krypton Gold tycoons from other games who wanted to come and PK the person who had stolen the Aura from all other whales. For example, the Immortal Emperor and the Mushroom Enthusiast... Many people had heard of tycoons who spent a hundred million. But for many, this was the first time they had ever heard of three hundred million. Everyone was thrilled. Even though it was already late at night, the traffic on the *Tower Defense of Ten Thousand Realms* Forum was still breaking records...

”The whale is online!!”

”His Combat Power is rising again!!!”

Just as everyone was in an uproar, someone suddenly posted a screenshot from the game. A minute ago, the Combat Power of the number one player on the leaderboard was 52,833,960. A minute later, it had changed to 53,833,960. It just happened! The three-hundred-million Krypton Gold tycoon they were all frantically discussing was online!

SWOOSH!

Countless hearts skipped a beat as people instantly logged into the game to see what was happening. Of those who rushed into the game, most were just there to watch the spectacle. A smaller portion had various ulterior motives. Among them were even some members of official disciplinary organizations, there to collect data and investigate whether this three-hundred-million-dollar whale was a corrupt official. Recently, there had been a trend of corruption among younger officials, and after engaging in corruption, a large portion of these young administrators would pour the funds into games. If he really was a corrupt young person, the disciplinary organization would be the first to act...

”Hm?”

Shen Fei had just recharged another hundred million and was in the process of merging Defense Towers to quickly reach the 612-tower limit when he saw a flood of server-wide announcements suddenly scroll across the public channel. The content of these announcements was all directed at him. Some were just saying hello, some were challenging him to a fight, some were asking him to meet on the world map, and there were all sorts of requests to connect offline...

What made Shen Fei frown was that he saw a player calling himself ”Immortal Emperor” and another calling himself ”Mushroom Enthusiast.” He traced their game IDs from the announcements and checked their info cards. He discovered that in just a short time, the two of them had already spent over a hundred thousand in Krypton Gold, which made Shen Fei’s brow furrow.

I know these two!
