Realized Game: I Hoarded 10 Billion Defense Towers

Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Recharging Another 100 Million

”The game descends in twenty days!”

With a billion yuan in hand, Shen Fei returned home, greeted his parents, and opened his computer, ready to spend the night topping up his account. Based on the current content in *Tower Defense of Ten Thousand Realms*, he still needed to spend 150 million to upgrade over two hundred more Defense Towers to the Tenth Tier.

Although with his current Defense Tower strength, once the game’s abilities were inherited, he would already be several times stronger than the original number one player, ”Taiyi Zhenren.” But since he had the chance to keep improving, he was certainly going to take it.

The more, the better. There’s no limit to this!

After maxing out the number and level of his Defense Towers, his future work would be all about various forms of Enhancement. As for the remaining money, he would spend it all on in-game items and supplies. After the game’s invasion, the items and supplies in his inventory could also be inherited...

”Shen Fei, was it you?!”

Just as he opened his computer and was about to log into the game to top up, his younger sister, Shen Yue, stormed in angrily. She was in her pajamas with her hair disheveled, waving the tablet in her hand.

”What’s wrong?” Shen Fei asked, playing dumb as he looked at the screen.

”Did you top up the money for this game? Did you buy me all the game skins?!”

His sister’s pale fingers rapidly tapped on the screen of the *Traveling Frog* game open on her tablet.

”It wasn’t me, I didn’t do it, impossible!” Too lazy for a long explanation, Shen Fei issued a triple denial.

”It was you! Only you know my game account! You even asked about it a few days ago! I remember you writing it down in your notebook!” his sister retorted, not believing him at all.

”Could it have been one of your admirers? Maybe your roommate secretly gave them your account info?” Shen Fei spouted nonsense. His sister was a beautiful college freshman with quite a few admirers.

”Huh?” Hearing her brother’s words, his sister actually grew suspicious.

”Go on, go ask your roommates. I need to rest!” Seeing his sister falter, Shen Fei pushed her right out the door.

CLICK. He locked his bedroom door and quickly logged into *Tower Defense of Ten Thousand Realms*.

Then, he froze.

His stunned expression was ten times more severe than his sister’s had been just moments ago.

What the—is this still a tower defense game?

Looking at the huge wave of new features that had suddenly appeared in the game, Shen Fei was completely dumbfounded.

In the villa’s other room, Father Shen opened his computer, wanting to play a few games of chess before bed. ”What is all this nonsense?”

He saw that his chess pieces had turned golden yellow. And when he moved his Horse piece, a golden, flying warhorse materialized above it. Father Shen, whose computer skills were limited to playing chess, frowned in confusion.

”Did it get a virus?” I’ll get Shen Fei to take a look for me!

With a bewildered expression, Father Shen was about to get his son from the next room to look at the computer.

”Shoo, shoo! Our son is already asleep, don’t bother him!” Mrs. Shen, wearing a face mask, pushed Father Shen aside. ”Move, I need to steal some crops!”

”Hm? Is there an event in my game? It’s giving me so many rewards?”

Compared to Father Shen, who only knew how to play chess, Mrs. Shen had a slightly better understanding of the changes in her crop-stealing game. However, it was only slightly. Neither of them noticed that someone had topped up their games with a million yuan.

”What the hell! Is this still a tower defense game?”

In the next room, unaware of his parents’ situation, Shen Fei stared dumbfounded at the screen of *Tower Defense of Ten Thousand Realms*. During the day, he had been waiting for the third-party exchangers to complete the billion-yuan transaction, so he hadn’t logged into the game.

Now, logging in again, he discovered the game had updated in the early hours of the morning. A dozen new gameplay features had been released all at once.

Moreover, many of these features were a strange mix, a huge departure from the previous tower defense elements. They weren’t elements that should be in a tower defense game at all.

There’s a Tower Master now... this Tower Master is controllable, like in a multiplayer online game, and can move around the newly opened world map? A Tower Master can have skills that strengthen Defense Tower abilities! A Tower Master can also wear equipment to get even bigger ability boosts?

Shen Fei quickly scanned the info, his eyes on a small figure that had appeared next to his Crystal, with the name ”Skyrocketing” floating above its head.

There’s also a Gemstone system now, where you can add sockets to Defense Towers and embed corresponding Gemstones... And a homestead system, with a butler in the homestead, where you can build it up and reap rewards... Damn it, there’s even a pet system! It’s called a Tower-Carrying Beast? It can carry a Defense Tower and run around?

Quickly, Shen Fei browsed through the huge pile of new features. Among them, there were traces of multiplayer online games as well as competitive games. He even saw traces of a Lord-type Game in the so-called homestead feature. This was no longer a pure tower defense game.

Looking at the new features, Shen Fei’s brow furrowed slightly...

This...

This...

This was fantastic!

Looking at the huge wave of newly updated features, Shen Fei grew happier and happier. The more features and the higher the ceiling of the game he had chosen, the more he liked it. Because it meant he would inherit even more. He had just obtained a billion yuan, and now he had even better avenues for his Krypton Gold spending.

Shen Fei was pleasantly surprised.

I don’t know why *Tower Defense of Ten Thousand Realms* is different from how I remember it, but I don’t want to know, either. Time to spend! The more new features, the better!

”Defense Towers, Crystal, Tower Master, Gemstones, Tower-Carrying Beast, homestead, NPCs...”

Looking at the huge wave of new features, Shen Fei instantly scrapped his previous spending plan. Originally, he was thinking of upgrading his Defense Towers and Crystal. But now, it seemed he would have to upgrade the new ”Tower Master,” ”Tower-Carrying Beast,” ”homestead,” ”butler,” and ”Gemstones” one by one.

And with a billion yuan, he was more than capable of upgrading all of them!

”Let’s do this!”

Without a second thought, Shen Fei started topping up his account. This time, he was even more motivated to spend.

[DING!]

[Dear Level 20 VIP Player, you have successfully topped up 64,800 yuan.]

A few hours later, Shen Fei had topped up another hundred million.

”The rewards on the ranking lists have all gotten a huge boost! And the rewards in the Heaven-Reaching Tower and Secret Realms have been updated too!”

In between top-ups, Shen Fei discovered that the rewards on some of the ranking lists had all changed due to the new rules. For example, first place on the Combat Power list, which originally awarded a Defense Tower Enhancement Stone, now awarded items related to the Tower Master, like skills and equipment.

”First, I’ll max out the Defense Towers, then I’ll take a run at the Heaven-Reaching Tower!”

Seeing the generous rewards in the Heaven-Reaching Tower, Shen Fei quickly set a goal. He hadn’t attempted the Heaven-Reaching Tower yet, so with new rewards on the table, it was the perfect time to give it a try.

[DING!]

[Your friend has gifted you ten thousand Golden Orchids. You have received 10,000 Golden Orchid value!]

[Congratulations, you remain number one on the Golden Orchid List!]

As Shen Fei was rapidly synthesizing Defense Towers, a system notification popped up. ”Taiyi Zhenren,” the player who had been gone for three days, had suddenly reappeared and had even gifted Shen Fei some Golden Orchid value.

”Not bad!”

With a small smile, Shen Fei returned the favor, sending his own 10,000 Golden Orchids, fresh off the daily cooldown after midnight, to Taiyi Zhenren. For the past seven or eight days, he had been buying ten thousand Golden Orchids every day to send to him. Moreover, some people—characters he suspected of being shills—were also sending him Golden Orchid value.

He was currently far ahead of second place on the Golden Orchid Ranking. Shen Fei was also looking forward to seeing what kind of great reward being number one on the Golden Orchid Ranking would yield in two weeks.

[DING!]

Swiftly, Shen Fei synthesized special Defense Towers. He had obtained Defense Tower blueprints from opening gift packs. He also researched some himself through the ”Defense Tower Workshop” by specifying keywords and then using Time Acceleration Scrolls to speed up the process.

After pulling an all-nighter, he had fifty more Tenth Tier Defense Towers. Among the more special ones were the Breaking the Ban Defense Tower, the Anti-stealth Defense Tower, and the Taunt Defense Tower.

Seeing that it was almost dawn, Shen Fei finally lay down on his bed to rest.

At the *Tower Defense of Ten Thousand Realms* game company headquarters, the operations director stared at the monitor.

”Boss!” he yelled. ”It worked! He topped up!”

”A hundred million in one go! And he’s spending it fast!”

When Shen Fei finally logged off, the director and the company boss looked at each other, their faces flush with excitement. They had succeeded.

This whale was playing right into their hands. As long as they set the rules, he would follow. There was no need for shills, no need to stir up hatred, no need to create rivalries... the guy just went for it on his own!

”Keep watching him! I’m going to get some sleep!” the boss ordered. Having stayed up for a day and a night waiting for this super-spender, he couldn’t take it anymore.

”You got it!” his subordinate nodded excitedly.
