Urban Powerhouse: Chaos Supreme

Even though they hadn’t seen each other for some time, Guo Yan immediately recognized the boy walking towards them, and a bright smile appeared on her face: ”Brother Xiao Mo.”

Guo Yan was precisely Guo Hu’s sister. Back when they were in China, after Lin Mo helped Guo Hu and Guo Yan get justice, Guo Hu sent Guo Yan to the United States to study, hoping she could forget all her unhappy past experiences.

To be honest, Guo Yan was also a pitiful girl. She lost her parents at a young age and was bullied at school. If she hadn’t met Lin Mo, her life could have been ruined.

”Yanzi, it’s been years, and you’ve grown into a young lady, and you’ve also grown taller.” Lin Mo squinted with a sunny smile on his face and gently rubbed Guo Yan’s head with his hand.

Guo Yan immediately blushed, ”Brother Xiao Mo, I’m not a little kid, you’re still the same as before.”

Hearing Lin Mo’s words, Guo Yan’s cheeks reddened immediately like a blushing monkey’s.

As they were talking, Lin Mo noticed there was a young man standing beside Guo Yan, who was equally good-looking, on par with Guo Yan.

”Oh, let me introduce you; this is my university classmate Luo Xue, and this is Brother Xiao Mo,” Guo Yan said.

Luo Xue, upon seeing Lin Mo, initially had a hint of expectation on his face but quickly turned to disappointment; Lin Mo looked too ordinary, the kind that would disappear in a crowd immediately.

Moreover, there was nothing distinctive about him, and Luo Xue naturally lost interest, merely nodding his head.

Lin Mo nodded in return, out of courtesy.

”It’s already noon, Brother Xiao Mo, let me treat you to a meal?” Guo Yan said, looking up.

”Mhm.”

Having stayed abroad for a few years and only returning during the New Year, Guo Yan was incredibly happy to meet someone familiar in a foreign land.

Walking with Guo Yan, Lin Mo still sensitively realized that although Guo Yan was very cheerful with him, her nature was quite introverted.

Inside the restaurant.

”Have you been happy living abroad?” Lin Mo asked with concern.

”Mhm, it’s actually okay. I can settle down and concentrate on my studies,” Guo Yan nodded and replied.

Luo Xue remained silent but noticed that her friend was speaking much more than usual.

Guo Yan was also willing to share her life abroad with Lin Mo, like spending every day in the library, enjoying history, literature, and fine arts.

”Haven’t you dated anyone at the university?”

Lin Mo suddenly asked with a smile.

Yanzi’s face immediately turned red, and she shook her head, ”No.”

”Yanzi’s personality is introverted, she usually doesn’t talk to boys, though there are quite a few handsome guys who want to pursue her,” Luo Xue said while slicing her steak.

As they chatted, they suddenly saw two Huaxia youths approaching.

”Darling, why are you only coming now?” Luo Xue coquettishly said when she saw one of the youth, who was handsome in appearance.

Lin Mo frowned.

He originally just wanted to check up on Yanzi and didn’t like being disturbed by others.

Guo Yan said, ”That’s Luo Xue’s boyfriend, also a Huaxia person, whose father does business in New York, named Xu Gang.”

However, when Guo Yan saw the other young man, her face clearly showed a slight change as she said, ”That’s Xu Gang’s buddy and also our schoolmate, named Li Zheng.”

”Yanzi is here too, and who’s that?” Xu Gang came over, sat beside Luo Xue, and affectionately put his hand on her shoulder with a somewhat arrogant look on his face.

This kind of playboy could be encountered anywhere.

”That is Yanzi’s brother,” Luo Xue spoke up.

”Not a biological brother, he’s my brother’s friend, Brother Xiao Mo,” Yanzi suddenly spoke up.

Hearing Yanzi’s words, both Xu Gang and Li Zheng’s expressions changed.

Especially Li Zheng’s gaze on Lin Mo became more hostile.

”Hello, I’m Li Zheng, also Yanzi’s schoolmate.” Li Zheng extended his right hand and looked at Lin Mo in a very gentlemanly manner.

”Mhm.”

Lin Mo nodded but didn’t even extend his hand, leaving Li Zheng hanging.

With Lin Mo’s current status, very few people could get a handshake from him, let alone the fact that it seemed like Yanzi didn’t like Li Zheng.

Li Zheng’s face became slightly embarrassed, and he retracted his hand, a glint of coldness flashing in his eyes.

”I wonder why Mr. Lin is in New York, are your parents doing business here?” Xu Gang suddenly asked.

”I came here on my own, and to visit Yanzi by the way.”

Lin Mo said mildly.

With these people, there was simply nothing worth discussing.

”Brother Xiao Mo, can I accompany you for a walk after the meal?” Yanzi asked, looking at Lin Mo.

”Mhm, sure.” Lin Mo said with a smile, then called for the waiter.

”Hello, the total is one hundred US Dollars,” the waiter said with a smile.

Lin Mo felt his pocket and found he hadn’t brought any cash at all, just as he was about to take out his bank card from his Space Ring, Guo Yan had already paid the money.

Seeing this, disdain appeared in Luo Xue’s eyes; a guy inviting a girl to eat and not even bringing money.

The faces of Xu Gang and Li Zheng looked utterly contemptuous; from Lin Mo’s clothing, he seemed to be a poor guy, not even able to pay the bill.

”Yanzi, I have a few words I want to say to you.”

As they were ready to leave the restaurant, Li Zheng suddenly stopped Guo Yan.

”I’ll wait for you outside.” Lin Mo said blandly, then turned to stare at the restaurant’s entrance.

Guo Yan looked at Li Zheng and said, ”What do you want to talk about?”

”Yanzi, you know I like you, so why can’t you give me a chance?” Li Zheng asked, looking at Guo Yan.

Guo Yan bit her lip, ”Mr. Li, I’ve told you many times, I just want to study well now, I don’t want to date, besides I have no feelings for you.”

”Dating won’t interfere with your studies, and besides, if you don’t try to date me, how do you know you won’t have feelings for me?” Li Zheng frowned, suddenly his eyes falling on the youth at the door, ”Tell me, do you like him?”

Following his gaze, Guo Yan looked at Lin Mo standing outside, raised her chin, and said with determination in her eyes: ”Yes, I do like him, so what?”

With that, Guo Yan didn’t look at Li Zheng anymore and turned to walk towards the door. ”What did he talk to you about?” Lin Mo asked with a smile.

Actually, at that distance, Lin Mo heard everything clearly.

”Nothing, I don’t like him,” Guo Yan said with a light sigh.

Lin Mo frowned; he treated her as his sister, who dared to harass her?

”Li Zheng may look good on the outside, has a decent family background, studies well, and seems gentle, but he’s actually a playboy who has dated countless girls. I don’t like this kind of person.”

Guo Yan murmured, speaking helplessly.
