Urban Powerhouse: Chaos Supreme

”Is that so? How come I didn’t see it.” Lin Mo smiled, taking out a box and handing it to Wu Yuexin, ”This is for you, consider it your reward for showing me around today.”

”Ah, such a valuable thing, I can’t accept it.”

Wu Yuexin took one look and her face changed instantly. Although her father was a valued guest of the Ao Ye Hotel, his net worth was only around 500 million. The gift that Lin Mo presented was a pair of Red Diamond Earrings, worth about 200 million, almost half her family’s fortune.

”It’s for you, so just take it. It might be valuable to you, but to me, it’s nothing special.” Lin Mo said plainly.

It was as if he was casually giving away an insignificant gift.

Again, Wu Yuexin was shocked. What on earth was Lin Mo’s identity?

Could he be the son of the richest man in the country? But apparently, the richest man’s surname is Wang, not Lin.

Even if he were the richest man’s son, he wouldn’t spend money like this, casually using billions and giving away hundreds of millions as a mere gift.

Though Wu Yuexin was beautiful, she was also self-aware. She was not a fairy, and someone with Lin Mo’s status and wealth could easily find many girls as pretty as her to accompany him.

”But it’s really too expensive, I can’t take it.” Wu Yuexin shook her head in distress.

”I’m giving it to you, so just take it.”

Lin Mo said with a smile.

Although Wu Yuexin felt that the boy in front of her was a bit dull and ordinary, his words carried an irresistible authority, making it impossible for her to refuse. She had no choice but to put the box in her pocket, growing increasingly curious about Lin Mo’s identity.

By this time, the sky had already darkened, and the city lights were ablaze.

”Alright then, I should be getting back to the hotel. Can you give me a ride?” Lin Mo asked.

”Mm.”

Wu Yuexin nodded like a little chicken pecking at rice.

Just then, someone suddenly rushed over to the car window and knocked on it, thud, thud, thud.

”Hmm?”

Wu Yuexin frowned and slowly rolled down the window. Outside appeared an elderly man, dressed in a neat suit, his face thin with wrinkles and a smile.

”Uncle Gao, why are you here?” Wu Yuexin said, pursing her lips, clearly recognizing him.

”The master is looking everywhere for you. Isn’t tonight the Young Master Ma’s birthday party? Did the young lady forget?” Uncle Gao said with a grin. Lin Mo frowned slightly; although Uncle Gao was speaking with Wu Yuexin, his gaze never left Lin Mo, and Lin Mo could sense his formidable aura. The man was clearly a martial arts master, though far from being a Martial God due to his age.

Wu Yuexin smacked her white forehead, ”Ah, I almost forgot.”

”Well, if you have a party, I’ll go back myself.” Lin Mo nodded.

Who would have thought that just as he was about to get out of the car, Wu Yuexin quietly tugged on his sleeve and winked at him, then turned to Uncle Gao and said, ”I’ll go in a bit, but my friend is coming too.”

”This...” Uncle Gao hesitated visibly.

”If you don’t let my friend go, then I won’t go either.” Wu Yuexin pouted.

”Alright then, I hope the young lady can arrive on time, or else the master will be angry.” Uncle Gao finished speaking and walked towards an Audi parked by the roadside.

Wu Yuexin breathed a heavy sigh of relief and looked at Lin Mo, saying, ”Lin Mo, I’m sorry, but could I ask you for a favor?”

”What favor?” Lin Mo asked, frowning.

”Today, the Ma Family is holding some kind of banquet that we have to attend, and my dad is trying to matchmake between me and that Ma Wenliang from the Ma Family. I have no feelings for him at all, and he’s a complete lecher, often playing around with women outside. His reputation in the Las Vegas circle is terrible.”

Wu Yuexin bit her silver teeth, her cheeks full of resentment.

”Such a man, isn’t your dad pushing you into the fire pit?” Lin Mo asked skeptically.

Although Wu Yuexin’s family isn’t particularly wealthy, they are still a rich family and wouldn’t easily marry a girl off to someone like that.

”Actually, many Huaxia people are trying to make a living in Las Vegas, but they’re often suppressed by other foreign families and forces. My dad has also faced some difficulties and problems lately. The Ma Family has a good relationship with another foreign family, so my dad wants to leverage that connection...”

As Wu Yuexin spoke, her eyes turned red, and tears glistened in her eyes.

Lin Mo understood that Wu Yuexin’s father wanted to marry his daughter to someone from the Ma Family to secure backing from a local powerful family.

”Alright then, I don’t have anything to do tonight anyway.” Lin Mo said with a smile.

Helping a friend to the end, especially since the other party is Su Xinhe’s best friend, could be considered his friend too.

”That’s great, but I’m afraid it might bring trouble to you.” Wu Yuexin said, still a bit worried.

”No need to worry about that.” Lin Mo said casually, but exuded a mighty, domineering aura. ”What, did you say Little Yue is with a man?”

In a certain private room, a middle-aged man in a suit furrowed his brows tightly, his tone icy.

Uncle Gao said, ”Probably just a regular friend of Miss, so there’s no need to be so angry, sir.”

”How can I not be angry? I’ve been trying to arrange her marriage with Young Master Ma, and she keeps going against me. No matter what she wants to do, today I’ll announce her engagement to Young Master Ma.” Wu Qingyun snorted coldly.

”Master, I don’t know if I should say this,” Uncle Gao slightly bowed, ”We all know that the young lady doesn’t like Young Master Ma. If you force her to get engaged to him, I’m afraid she won’t agree, and it could lead to a father-daughter fallout.”

Wu Qingyun furrowed his brow, looking solemn, ”This matter is not up to her. Even if she hates me, there’s no other way. If the family truly falls, she would go from being a noble young lady to a beggar girl. How would she support herself then? Besides, I’ve offended many people in the past. If our family falls, we would face severe retribution unless... unless she finds someone from a family even more powerful than Young Master Ma’s to rely on.”

”Alright, enough about this topic. Let’s prepare to go to the Ma Family Mountain and Water Manor.” Wu Qingyun sighed, standing up slowly, his once-straight posture now slightly hunched.

”Alright, we should prepare as well.”

Wu Yuexin was overjoyed upon seeing Lin Mo agree to help.

Just as the two drove off, a few teenagers who had just left a Starbucks stood there, watching them leave, muttering to themselves.

”I told you I wasn’t seeing things, it was Wu Yuexin. As for the guy, I don’t know who he is.”

”I saw them go into the mall to shop earlier and just came out now.”

”They seem so close; I wonder what their relationship is.”

”Never mind their relationship. If Young Master Ma finds out about this, he’ll definitely blow a gasket, and the marriage between the Ma and Wu families will be ruined,” said a slightly taller youth, with an eerie smile and a cold tone.
