Urban Powerhouse: Chaos Supreme

”Young Master Jing is shrewd. Once the Wu Family falls, the Jing Family will rise in the Chinese circle of Las Vegas.” Someone said flatteringly with a smile.

Jing Jin squinted his eyes slightly, with a glimmer of cunning reflected in his pupils.

The Ma Family Mountain and Water Manor is located in a scenic area on the outskirts of Las Vegas, resplendent and magnificent.

Today is the twenty-fourth birthday of the young master of the Ma Family. Luxury cars are gathered, parked at the entrance of the manor, like a grand exhibition of luxury cars.

Waiters in tuxedos, carrying various expensive champagnes, shuttled through the crowd.

Most of the guests are also Chinese, though there are some foreigners, all dressed in suits with extraordinary demeanor.

The walls are decorated with valuable oil paintings, embedded with bronze lamps, and curved daggers crossed above the doorway, exuding the flavor of the eighteenth century Europe.

In the center of the banquet hall, a gigantic crystal chandelier, about three meters tall, hangs down, emitting a soft glow.

”Wu Yuexin, long time no see.”

A woman in a luxurious evening dress walked over with a laugh.

Lin Mo and Wu Yuexin just stepped into the entrance of the ballroom and were blocked by a group of young men and women.

”Her name is Liu Huwen, she’s my college classmate, very annoying.” Wu Yuexin whispered to Lin Mo’s side.

”Little Yue, is this your friend?”

Another young man in a dark blue suit spoke, carrying an air of arrogance in his gestures, clearly of extraordinary origin.

Lin Mo appeared calm.

Whether abroad or at home, there are always such small circles among the upper class.

”Yes, my friend Lin Mo.” Wu Yuexin forced a stiff smile; after all, face-saving gestures had to be done.

”Oh, being friends with our Miss Wu, must signify some special status, but in the Las Vegas circle, I don’t know who this young master is?” The young man in the dark blue suit raised an eyebrow and provocatively asked.

”Jing Jin, do I need to ask for your permission on who I befriend?” Wu Yuexin slightly raised her chin, wearing a cold expression.

She clearly did not have a good relationship with the young man in front of her.

Liu Huwen laughed and said, ”Little Yue, isn’t Young Master Jing just concerned about you? We’re all friends.”

”I’m not from Las Vegas; I’m from Huaxia.” Lin Mo said casually.

”Oh, not from the Las Vegas Chinese circle, no wonder I don’t know. May I ask where Mr. Lin is from?” Jing Jin asked with a smile.

Lin Mo said, ”Hong City, Shu Province.”

”The Lin Family of Hong City?” Jing Jin frowned, ”I seem to have heard of a Lin Family in Hong City, but that was when I was young, heard it’s just a minor family, right?”

Lin Mo didn’t speak; at that time, the Lin Family was indeed a small family in Hong City, barely ranking. But that was years ago. Jing Jin’s grandfather’s family is from Hong City; he must have heard while playing there.

However, in recent years, nobody in Huaxia dares to look down on the Lin Family, because the Lin Family has produced Lin Mo, known by those who know the inside story as placing the Lin Family amongst the top domestic families, because the Lin Family has the number one martial arts expert of Huaxia, Lin Mo.

”My grandfather is from Hong City, went there to play when I was little, I did hear about some Lin Family.” Jing Jin said, eyes revealing a look of disdain.

The rest, upon hearing that Lin Mo was merely the young master of a local bumpkin family, immediately showed contemptuous expressions on their faces.

Such small domestic families are simply looked down upon in their overseas circles, much like how city people look down on farmers.

”Miss Wu, when did you start befriending such people?” Jing Jin asked with a sneer.

Wu Yuexin was so angry she gnashed her teeth, glaring at Jing Jin, said, ”Who I befriend is none of your business, bored.” Finished speaking, Wu Yuexin simply pulled Lin Mo towards the inside of the banquet hall, saying as she walked, ”These people are really boring, Lin Mo, don’t mind them. They flaunt just because their families have a bit of money, but the jewelry you just bought is worth more than their family’s assets. If they knew, they’d be scared to death.”

Lin Mo helplessly smiled, said nothing, his horizons now lie in another world, not caring about these ordinary people’s words.

”Flaunting what, just relying on the Wu Family’s bit of money?” Liu Huwen coldly snorted, said somewhat unhappily.

”There will be a good show later.” Jing Jin slightly squinted, a touch of craftiness flashed across his face.

”Miss, I’ve been looking for you; the master is waiting for you in the private room.” Uncle Gao suddenly appeared in front of Wu Yuexin.

Wu Yuexin nodded, looked at Lin Mo and said, ”Lin Mo, come with me.”

The two entered the private room, Wu Qingyun was sitting on the sofa, with one leg crossed over the other, wearing a dark blue vest and sweater, with a light beard, a wooden smoking pipe in his mouth.

”Dad.” As soon as Wu Yuexin entered the private room, she immediately plastered a smile and ran over to sit beside the middle-aged man.

Wu Qingyun helplessly glanced at her, then glanced at Lin Mo and said, ”Where did you run off to? Didn’t you know today is Young Master Ma’s birthday party, and you’re running around?”

”Dad, I’m here, aren’t I?” Wu Yuexin looked at him pitifully, sticking out her tongue.

Wu Qingyun raised his head to look at Lin Mo and asked, ”Is this your friend?”

”Yes, he’s a classmate of my confidante, just happened to be in Las Vegas, so I went out with him for a while.”

Wu Yuexin explained.

”Go and help me bring that bottle of wine in.” Wu Qingyun suddenly said.

Wu Yuexin was taken aback, then stood up, gave Lin Mo a meaningful look with her back to Wu Qingyun, and left the private room.

”Are you Little Yue’s friend?” Wu Qingyun looked Lin Mo up and down and asked.

Lin Mo nodded, Wu Yuexin was Su Xinhe’s confidante, so it could be considered a friend.

”Sit down, what’s your name?” Wu Qingyun asked with a smile.

”Lin Mo.”

”Nice name, but it seems there’s no one with the surname Lin in the Las Vegas Chinese circle, right?” Wu Qingyun asked suspiciously.

”I’m from Huaxia, just here for a vacation.” Lin Mo said lightly.

Wu Qingyun saw that he was dressed ordinarily, without the arrogance of a rich young master, obviously from a poor family, and the last trace of smile on his face faded away.

”Las Vegas is a nice city, good for a holiday. May I ask what your family does?” Wu Qingyun asked as he looked at him. ”Just doing some small business.” Lin Mo replied.

Wu Qingyun smiled and said, ”So the family is in business. Recently, the industry in Las Vegas hasn’t been doing well. I wonder what you think about the global economy lately?”

”No opinion.”
