Urban Powerhouse: Chaos Supreme

Lin Mo immediately recognized the girl’s identity; it was Wu Yuexin, Su Xinhe’s friend, whom he had met once at the casino.

He hadn’t expected that she would still remember him.

”What a coincidence?” Lin Mo smiled politely.

Although Wu Yuexin was not drop-dead gorgeous, her features were delicate and she had the petite charm of an Eastern woman. Her skin was fair, making her look delicate and adorable, paired with her golden, wavy hair that added a touch of sophistication.

Lin Mo’s keen eye noticed that Wu Yuexin was wearing international brand-name clothes and carrying a luxury handbag, each item worth tens of thousands. It was not something an average family could afford for a child.

”The shareholders of this hotel include my dad, so sometimes I come here to help out,” Wu Yuexin said with a smile, her eyes curving into crescents.

”I see.”

Lin Mo wasn’t very familiar with her, and was planning to leave after saying hello.

However, Wu Yuexin took the initiative and asked, ”Lin Mo, where are you headed?”

”Just out to buy a few things to give to someone.”

”I’m familiar with Las Vegas. I can take you there since I’ve just finished work,” Wu Yuexin said, blinking her bright eyes.

Lin Mo hesitated for a moment, then nodded. He was planning to buy some gifts for Xia Mengdie, Yingzi, his mother, and others. Since he wasn’t versed in what girls like, Wu Yuexin, being a girl herself, could be of help.

”Then thank you in advance,” Lin Mo said with a smile.

”You’re Xinhe’s friend, and Xinhe is my best friend, so that makes you my friend too. It’s no trouble to help out a little,” Wu Yuexin said with a courteous wave of her hand.

”Come in my car, I’ll take you to the shopping mall.”

Saying so, Wu Yuexin headed towards a white BMW Z4 parked at the hotel entrance.

May drove the car, and the two arrived at the central shopping mall of Las Vegas. In addition to its casinos, the city was also a tourism and vacation destination, housing top international brands in jewelry, clothing, footwear, and bags.

Wu Yuexin led Lin Mo into a comprehensive jewelry store and asked as they walked, ”By the way, Lin Mo, who are you buying gifts for?”

”For my wife, my student, my mom, a sister, and an aunt. I’m planning to buy a bit for everyone,” Lin Mo casually replied. The bright lights in the jewelry market reflected off various jewels, dazzling the eyes.

Wu Yuexin gave him a surprised look and widened her beautiful eyes, ”Oh, you have a wife already?”

”Yes.” Lin Mo nodded.

”Your wife must be really beautiful, right?” Wu Yuexin asked curiously.

”In my heart, she’s the most beautiful,” Lin Mo replied with a smile.

Wu Yuexin secretly sighed and said, ”By the way, what was it with you and Xinhe back then? During college, Xinhe didn’t like to talk and it was always me who initiated conversations and became her best friend. She worked hard every day at studying, hoping to excel, saying she wanted to surpass someone.”

Lin Mo’s steps paused for a moment, thinking that the person Su Xinhe wanted to surpass was probably him.

A bitter smile appeared at the corner of Lin Mo’s mouth. Su Xinhe was a determined girl.

”She wants to surpass me, I guess. Tell her she’s already done it,” Lin Mo said lightly.

In truth, he didn’t want Su Xinhe to know his true identity; that way, at least, she could live happier.

”Alright, but I feel she has feelings for you,” Wu Yuexin pouted, gently sighing.

Lin Mo also sighed softly, then changed the topic, ”Help me pick out some jewelry. I’m not very knowledgeable in this area.”

”Okay.” Wu Yuexin nodded, refocusing her thoughts.

Wu Yuexin was quite puzzled as well. Su Xinhe said Lin Mo wasn’t doing well, but she’d asked her father yesterday, and the people with Lin Mo were top figures of the Tang Sect. Even her father treated those people with great respect.

And those top figures of the Tang Sect were exceedingly respectful to Lin Mo, indicating he holds a high position in the sect.

But Wu Yuexin decided it wasn’t her place to ask about this right now, given that she wasn’t very familiar with Lin Mo.

Wu Yuexin simply drew her attention back to the jewelry on display, studying the pieces in the glass counter. The jewelry store she brought Lin Mo to was indeed an international brand, featuring Burberry, Van Cleef and Arpels, and Swarovski.

”Little beauty, what are you looking to buy?”

Suddenly, an obese man approached Wu Yuexin, with a heavily made-up, provocative-looking foreign woman beside him.

The obese man was Huaxia, speaking Mandarin. He wore a Jade Token around his neck and several gold rings on his fingers, exuding an air of nouveau-riche.

Wu Yuexin frowned slightly with evident distaste, ignoring him entirely.

”Beauty, I haven’t introduced myself. My name is Ren Chengping, I’m also Huaxia. We’re from the same hometown, and I’m here in Las Vegas for investment,” the obese man continued without giving up.

”What does that have to do with me? You’re so amusing,” Wu Yuexin couldn’t hold back any longer, giving a cold snort.

Seeing that the beauty was finally acknowledging him, Ren Chengping’s face lit up with a slight grin, ”We’re from the same hometown, and this is my first time in Las Vegas. I’d like to be friends with you.”

”Sorry, I’m not interested.”

Wu Yuexin’s polite demeanor towards Lin Mo was because Lin Mo was Su Xinhe’s friend, and he exuded righteousness, appearing like a good person. Whereas the fat and big-eared man before her had eyes filled with lechery, and the woman beside him was clearly a hostess, who left Wu Yuexin with no patience.

Ren Chengping seemed used to such situations, and instead of getting angry, he replied with a beaming smile, ”Little beauty, you’ll have interest soon. Is that your boyfriend? His clothes aren’t much, his family seems poor. What could he possibly buy you?”

Wu Yuexin’s cheeks flushed red. She was about to say Lin Mo was not her boyfriend, but didn’t want to be harassed by this man, so she retorted coldly, ”What’s it to you whether my boyfriend has money or not?””I just find it unfortunate. You’re such a beautiful woman; how could you be with a pauper?” Ren Chengping said, showing a regretful look and shaking his head.

”Take out this diamond pendant for a look,” Lin Mo, ignoring Ren Chengping entirely, addressed the attendant at the counter.

For Lin Mo, mastering any language was as easy as drinking water.

”Certainly, sir.” The sales attendant smiled and placed the necklace on the glass counter.

”This necklace is one of our mall’s featured products, priced at twelve thousand US dollars,” the attendant said with a smile.

Lin Mo glanced at it and frowned slightly.

Seeing this, Ren Chengping sneered instantly, ”Buddy, that’s twelve thousand US dollars. Better put it back; if you damage it, you can’t afford to pay.”
