Urban Powerhouse: Chaos Supreme

He Wuxue stood frozen in her tracks. She had only intended to help Lin Mo out of a tight spot, but she hadn’t expected Lin Mo to take action and cripple Wei Ya so directly.

Although Wei Ya wasn’t much, he was still a person from the core circle of the Wei Family, and the Wei Family’s people would definitely not stand idly by.

The turn of events had surpassed her expectations and was beyond her ability to handle.

He Wuxue bit her moist lips and sighed inwardly, ”It seems I have to ask Grandfather for help with this matter.”

”Shanshan, you go back with them first. I’ll come to the Du Family to find you in a couple of days, and see how Du Li explains this to me,” Lin Mo said.

With that, Lin Mo turned and walked along the beach towards the island, the cold seawater washing over the sands, leaving behind only Wei Ya’s mournful howls and the sound of the cool breeze.

He Wuxue let out a light sigh and then turned to follow Lin Mo as they left.

Everyone was silent.

”Acting all high and mighty, offending the Wei Family, let’s see how long you can hold out?” Du Feiyu clenched his fist and muttered begrudgingly to himself.

After the shock had passed, everyone looking at Wei Ya being supported by his bodyguards came to their senses.

Lin Mo had crippled Wei Ya, a slap in the face for the Wei Family, and they definitely wouldn’t take it lying down.

”Too impulsive, that was a young master of the Wei Family he crippled, how could the Wei Family let him off? Even He Wuxue probably can’t protect him,” someone shook their head, their eyes filled with schadenfreude, they touched their stinging face and humphed coldly.

Du Ruoxi finally let out a sigh as well. Lin Mo’s martial arts might be impressive, but this is modern society, not to mention the power and methods of the Wei Family which could torture a person to death, the Wei Family is also the Dragon Head of the underworld in Fu Province, although ordinary people talk about the Wei, Du, and He Families being the Three Great Families.

But those who knew the true story understood that the Wei Family was the first among them, as the Wei Family was a Martial Arts Family.

This secret was unknown to the general public, and even Du Ruoxi had only heard about it from Mr. Huang, whose strength she had witnessed; with his defenses up, not even bullets could touch him, and Mr. Huang had said that among the Wei Family’s martial artists some were even unafraid of anti-martial bullets and could withstand them with their bodies, what kind of existence was that.

”Sister Shanshan, your cousin is so cool, does he have a girlfriend?” Du Xueqi’s eyes sparkled like little stars as she grabbed Lin Shanshan’s arm, speaking with a lovestruck face.

”You little girl, already thinking about love at your age, believe it or not I’ll go home and tell Mom to take away all your allowance,” Du Ruoxi said irritably.

Du Xueqi quickly covered her mouth with both hands, showing a pitiful face.

Du Ruoxi looked at Lin Shanshan, her pretty face turning serious, ”Shanshan, your cousin hit Mr. Wei, the Wei Family’s people definitely won’t let it go, you should tell him to leave Fu Province as soon as possible. Once he’s out of Fu Province, the Wei Family’s influence will be much weaker.”

”Thank you for your concern, Cousin,” Lin Shanshan sighed, feeling somewhat guilty as it was all because of her that Brother Xiao Mo got angry.

Others might think she was worried about Lin Mo, but little did they know Lin Shanshan was concerned about the Wei Family and the other families in Fu Province; if Brother Xiao Mo found out she was unhappy, he might just turn Fu Province upside down.

Lin Mo walked ahead with his hands behind his back, He Wuxue followed behind him, her watery eyes watching his figure, feeling both reverence and a touch of doubt.

The He Family was a big shot in Fu Province, and He Wuxue was born into a prestigious family, with elders who dominated their own territories, but she had never seen such a quality in her elders as she did in Lin Mo, as if nothing in this world could capture his attention.

That feeling was as if he were Emperor Jiu Tian, in command of the Heavenly Court, holding the fate of mortals in his hands.

”It must be an illusion,” He Wuxue thought to herself, shaking her head inwardly.

”How did you know I was here?” Lin Mo finally asked.

After He Wuxue finished speaking slowly, Lin Mo realized that almost half of the industries on Gulangyu were owned by the He Family, and their residence was also on the island. Today, He Wuxue saw Lin Mo and others on the cruise, but seeing that there were two other girls with Lin Mo, she didn’t approach to greet them.

She was just finishing up and came out for a walk on the island when she saw Lin Mo again.

He Wuxue actually had a good impression of Lin Mo. Even though on the plane he had her call him ”Master,” that was only after she had shown contempt for him.

Moreover, after he had healed her grandfather, Lin Mo did not make any demands for money or anything else, which made He Wuxue feel a hint more fondness for him.

Thinking this, He Wuxue raised her head and silently glanced at Lin Mo, only to notice that he hadn’t looked at her from the start until that point, which suddenly made her feel a bit desolate.

She was very confident in her appearance, though not to the point of narcissism, but at least she had never seen a man who overlooked her completely.

Soon, they arrived at the He Family villa.

The villa area, comprised of three European-style villas, was lush with verdant trees; the coconut trees at the entrance fanned out toward the sky like the tail of a peacock.

A few serious-looking bodyguards with earpieces stood at the entrance.

”Miss, you’ve returned.”

He Wuxue asked, ”Has Grandfather awoken?”

”The old master has already woken up and is reading the newspaper in the living room.”

He Wuxue, looking at Lin Mo, said, ”My grandfather is awake. I’ll talk to him about what happened just now and have him help you deal with the Wei Family. Otherwise, the Wei Family will definitely send someone after you.”

In the living room, the He Family patriarch, He Shouming, wore casual white attire, his hair standing on end like silver roots, and sat on the sofa holding the Fu Province Economic Daily.

”Grandfather, I’m back,” said He Wuxue, her pretty face breaking into a radiant smile.

Only then did He Shouming put down the newspaper, his face showing a hint of a smile, ”Why so flustered?”

After speaking, the old man saw Lin Mo and stood up a little, ”Is this young brother the one who saved me on the plane?”

”Yes, grandfather, that’s him. His name is Lin Mo,” He Wuxue said as she instructed the servants to bring over two cups of tea.

He Shouming expressed his gratitude, ”If it weren’t for Brother Lin’s help today, I’m afraid I would have lost my life on that plane. I really don’t know how to thank you.”

”It was just a minor effort,” Lin Mo said indifferently, lifting the teacup and taking a sip.

”By the way, young brother, you’re not from Fu Province, right? Seeing your features—so refined, are you from Jiangnan or Shu Province?” He Shouming asked with a smile.

”Hard to say. My family is now in Hong City, but I study at a university in Imperial City,” Lin Mo replied.

He Shouming continued, ”Oh, that’s right. Brother Lin, you’re so young and yet your medical skills are so impressive. Could it be that you hail from a renowned medical family?”

Lin Mo shook his head and said calmly, ”Just learned a bit from some books, that’s all.”

Succeeding that, He Shouming chatted with Lin Mo for a while longer. Although it seemed like random chatter, the conversation actually included various topics such as environmental, political, economic, cultural, medical, and humanitarian insights.

He Shouming managed to grow the He Family’s businesses to such an extent because he had a good eye for people. However, after chatting with Lin Mo, he found that Lin Mo didn’t seem to know much about anything or simply didn’t care—perhaps Lin Mo truly wasn’t the offspring of any medical lineage.
