Urban Powerhouse: Chaos Supreme

But when she saw the look in Lin Mo’s eyes, her pupils contracted, and a chill surged through her entire body.

That gaze was too cold, as if he were looking at her as though she were a corpse, devoid of warmth and compassion.

”be, what’s wrong with you?”

At that moment, Du Feiyu and others had come over. Seeing be lying on the ground with a trickle of blood at the corner of her mouth, Du Feiyu frowned deeply.

Du Jie’s mouth hung open: ”Sister-in-law, who hit you?”

Everyone looked at Lin Mo and Lin Shanshan, who were standing in front of be. Clearly, it couldn’t have been Lin Shanshan; she didn’t have the temperament to do such a thing. It must have been the outsider cousin, Lin Mo.

”be, are you okay?” Du Feiyu helped his girlfriend to her feet, his eyes filled with anger and ferocity as he stared at Lin Mo. ”Did you lay hands on my girlfriend just now?”

Just as Lin Mo was about to speak, Lin Shanshan suddenly stood in front of him.

Her pretty face revealed a determined look as she said, ”Just now, be asked me to go to the hotel on the island to get the steel carbon, then she insulted my mother, so Brother Mo hit her.”

Du Feiyu furrowed his brows, glancing at be.

Lin Shanshan held a unique position in the Du Family. The Family Head, Du Li, had countless women outside, and this daughter was merely left behind by one of those women. Frankly, the Du Family members didn’t really take her seriously.

However, it was better to keep such thoughts to oneself. If such words reached Du Li’s ears, it would be bad.

But now, with the younger generation of the Du Family and friends present, for Du Feiyu to act as if nothing had happened would compromise his ability to mingle in their circles in the future.

”Shanshan, be was just speaking in anger for a moment, but it was wrong for your cousin to hit someone,” Du Feiyu said, his gaze sternly fixed on Lin Mo. ”Unless he lets me slap him and then apologizes to be, I’ll consider the matter as having never happened.”

”That’s impossible. If you dare to hit Brother Mo, I’ll tell my dad about today’s events,” Lin Shanshan stated firmly.

Du Ruoxi, Du Xueqi, Du Jie, and others all slightly showed looks of surprise. Lin Shanshan had been with the Du Family for three months, not too long or too short, and everyone had figured out this young girl’s nature—usually very pure and kind, or to put it bluntly, weak. They had never seen her take such a strong stance before.

”Feiyu, let it go, just chalk it up,” be said at that moment, but she dared not look into Lin Mo’s eyes. His look from before seemed as if he could have killed her.

Du Feiyu clenched his teeth. He was just a junior from a collateral branch. If Lin Shanshan really told Du Li, they might even dock his allowance.

”Feiyu, let it go. It was just a misunderstanding,” Du Ruoxi said at the time, giving him an out.

”Fine, today I’ll let it slide for Sister Ruoxi’s sake, but we’ll see who can protect you after Shanshan is married off,” Du Feiyu huffed coldly and left with his girlfriend and their group.

However, Lin Mo frowned. ”What did he just say, Shanshan, you’re getting married?”

Lin Shanshan’s face fell, but she quickly lifted her head, a forced smile on her little face. ”Brother Mo, don’t listen to his nonsense. It’s just that my dad wants to arrange a marriage for me, but I haven’t decided yet.”

Lin Mo remained silent. He knew that Lin Shanshan wouldn’t tell him the truth.

”Du Li, it seems you haven’t taken my words to heart,” Lin Mo thought to himself, shaking his head inwardly as a hint of coldness crept into his gaze.

At that point, Du Ruoxi and Du Xueqi approached. Du Ruoxi spoke up, ”Du Feiyu is petty and vengeful. You and Shanshan will be fine together, but if you go out alone, be careful.”

Du Xueqi nodded and added, ”They know the kind of people in society who are up to no good.”

”Hmph, if he dares to mess with me, I’ll just kill him,” Lin Mo said with a cold laugh.

Upon hearing Lin Mo’s words, Du Ruoxi couldn’t help but reveal a hint of disappointment in her eyes. This is modern society, where killing someone is a crime, and only brutes and fools resort to such actions. If a person truly has strength, they should confront and defeat their opponents directly, not spout nonsense to cover their own insecurities.

Clearly, Lin Mo didn’t actually have the ability to fight with Du Feiyu, so he could only talk tough to save some face for himself.

Just as Du Ruoxi was preparing to leave, she suddenly saw a group of people walking towards them.

”Huh, what are they doing here?”

Among the three people all dressed in casual wear, one walked in the front—it was Wei Ya, the ’acquaintance’ Lin Mo had met on the plane.

”Young Master Ya,” Du Feiyu and his people walked over to meet them.

”Mr. Du, long time no see,” Wei Ya said with a cheery smile.

Du Feiyu said, ”Young Master Ya, I’ve finally waited for your return to the country. We must party hard tonight.”

”Of course, I haven’t been back for a long time. The chicks in the United States are still not as good as ours in Huaxia,” Wei Ya said with a sleazy grin.

”I’ll arrange it for you tonight, find a few beauties to keep you company,” Du Feiyu laughed loudly.

”Degenerates,” Du Xueqi pursed her lips in disdain.

Lin Shanshan suspiciously asked, ”Who are they?”

”Who else but the dissolute sons of the Wei Family, especially that Wei Ya, he’s a degenerate. He used to often harass Sister Ruoxi, and after he forcefully took advantage of a young girl and got exposed, he had no choice but to leave Fu Province, disguising it as going to study in the United States,” Du Xueqi said with a face full of disgust.

At that moment, Wei Ya’s eyes roamed around, suddenly landing on Du Ruoxi, his eyes lighting up.

”Sister Ruoxi, we haven’t seen each other for so long, you are still so stunning,” Wei Ya’s eyes brimming with greed as he looked at Du Ruoxi.

If it weren’t for Du Ruoxi’s intelligence and the fact that she belonged to the Du Family, Wei Ya would have long ago forcefully had his way to get her into his bed.

”Young Master Ya, long time no see,” Du Ruoxi said with a faint smile, seemingly polite, but actually distancing him by miles with her icy demeanor.

Wei Ya was about to speak when suddenly his gaze sharpened, falling on Lin Mo: ”I can’t believe it, what are you doing here?”

”Why can’t I be here?” Lin Mo replied indifferently.

”You stole the spotlight on the plane and dared to insult my goddess. I didn’t expect to run into you so soon,” a glint of cold light flashed in Wei Ya’s eyes.

Lin Mo then realized that this ’doctor’ who had returned from American Washington Medical College was nothing more than a wastrel. No wonder he had used Dilaudid on the patient with a myocardial infarction on the plane; he probably just slacked off while abroad.

Du Feiyu, Bead, Du Jie, and others watching the scene had an epiphany—this guy had also offended Young Master Ya.

”Lin Mo, you actually offended Young Master Ya? Aren’t you going to kneel down and apologize right now?” Du Feiyu said with a cold voice from the side.

He had been holding back because he was concerned about Lin Shanshan and hadn’t dared to act against Lin Mo, keeping a bellyful of anger inside.

Wei Ya was different; he was from the Wei Family, and he was just dealing with Shanshan’s cousin. Even if the Family Head wanted to blame someone, he wouldn’t trouble the Wei Family over someone insignificant.

”Just him? He’s worthy?” Lin Mo shook his head. This group of people clearly had too low a status, having no idea who he really was.
