Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 542: Chapter 541: Too Jealousy-Inducing

I really hadn’t expected Nia Mitchell to be such a schemer. It’s true; one can’t judge a person by their appearance, she thought.

”If the Manager comes over later, don’t mention this. It will put Nia in a difficult position and might even cost her husband his job.”

This kind of behavior is truly awful, Julia mused.

But did Julia Adams really not want this to reach the Manager’s ears? Hmph, of course not. She was determined to let the Manager know Nia Mitchell was faking it; she absolutely wanted to put the Manager in an awkward position. Then, she would eagerly wait and see what Nia Mitchell would do. Thinking of this, her mood lightened considerably.

”Julia Adams, is there something wrong with your sense of taste?”

It’s worse than her sense of taste; it’s her character, Nia thought. How could such a person exist? That dish was excellent, exceptionally delicious even. Julia Adams was clearly targeting her on purpose.

”Nia Mitchell, rest assured, I won’t say anything,” Julia said, her delicate, pretty face a mask of sincerity. ”So, you don’t need to feel embarrassed that I’ve exposed you, and you don’t need to pretend anymore.”

Seriously, why doesn’t she go into acting? Nia wondered. She’d be perfect for playing those manipulative, scheming female roles.

Julia Adams heard the mockery and was furious, but on the surface, she looked deeply aggrieved.

”I’ve already said I won’t tell anyone. Why are you still being so sarcastic?” After speaking, Julia even feigned a sob.

”Oh, give it a rest, Nia Mitchell, you brown-noser!”

Finally, seeing Julia Adams act like this, many of the other women couldn’t hold back any longer and sided with Julia against her.

”Yeah, yeah! Julia already said she wouldn’t make things difficult for you and would help keep your secret. How can you be so unappreciative?”

”Shameless! So shameless! Honestly, that’s enough!”

”Nia Mitchell, you should quit while you’re ahead. I’ve never seen anyone put on an act like you do.”

All sorts of harsh words were thrown at her, and Nia Mitchell was genuinely starting to get angry.

After four years as classmates, she truly hadn’t realized that everyone in the class was biased towards Julia Adams.

In fact, Nia Mitchell didn’t realize that her gentle and sweet-natured personality, her pleasant voice, and her good looks—though not strikingly beautiful—made her a decent girl. She excelled academically and was generally well-liked in class.

However, the two friends she was close to only seemed to increase the resentment directed at her.

Charles Northwood, for instance, was handsome and refined—everyone’s Prince Charming. He also appeared to be quite wealthy. At such a young age, he had skipped grades so consistently that he had already become their professor while they hadn’t even graduated. Moreover, Charles Northwood treated her very well.

Then there was Fiona Sutton, a woman who lived by her own code, quick to repay kindness and avenge wrongs. Though sometimes impulsive, she was the ideal best friend in any girl’s eyes, always ready to stand up for justice.

With two such good friends, on top of her own admirable qualities, how could people not be jealous?

Julia Adams, on the other hand, was the type to feign weakness, garner sympathy, and came from a wealthy, influential family. At School, she was someone people envied, but even more so, someone many wanted to curry favor with.

Ask yourself: if Julia Adams frequently spoke ill of Nia Mitchell and often clashed with her, who would people ultimately support?

It’s simple; even a fool would know how to choose.

And so, Nia Mitchell’s fate was sealed...
