Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 517: Chapter 516: Where were you last night!?

At this moment, Maxwell Peary seemed to have turned dark.

Nia Mitchell took a deep breath and stopped talking. Silence settled in the car.

When Maxwell arrived at the company, he turned and saw Nia had already fallen asleep.

”HMPH!”

Maxwell shook his head and gently touched her hair.

Just like a little piggy, she slept right after eating.

Inside the quiet car, Maxwell shut down the engine, gently lowered Nia’s seat, and closed his eyes as well.

Taking a nap in the car with his wife after lunch also felt wonderfully cozy and romantic.

「University A.」

Fiona Sutton bought an umbrella from the convenience store and hurried towards the campus.

It was lunchtime, and the school was bustling, the paths crowded with people.

Fiona, holding her umbrella, passed the cafeteria. She thought for a moment, then went to the first floor, bought a bowl of noodles, and continued towards her dormitory.

Last night’s events still seemed like a dream; she could hardly believe what she had done...

Charles Northwood’s call came just at that moment.

Fiona took out her phone, hesitating for a moment. Her usually strong eyes were tinged with red.

”Hello?”

Her voice was hoarse, thick with nasal congestion.

Charles Northwood paused, glancing at his phone screen to confirm it was Fiona.

”Where are you? Do you know Nia Mitchell came looking for you in the pouring rain this morning? She waited here for over an hour!”

Fiona stopped in her tracks, not taking another step.

”Can we not talk about her?”

Her hoarse voice was laced with heartbreak, but Charles Northwood didn’t hear it.

The other end of the line went silent. Fiona suddenly let out a mirthless laugh.

”Charles Northwood, if we don’t talk about Nia Mitchell, do we have anything else to say to each other?”

It was only today that she suddenly realized this: most of the time she spent with Charles Northwood, they talked about Nia Mitchell.

Now that she didn’t want to mention Nia Mitchell, only silence remained from his end.

”How can you say that? I treat you and Nia Mitchell exactly the same.”

I’ve never been biased. It’s your own thoughts that deceive you, making you think I’m partial. You’ve been misled, and that’s why you think I like Nia Mitchell.

”The same?”

Fiona Sutton raised an eyebrow, a pale smile on her face.

”With which eye do you see it as the same?”

Charles Northwood frowned. He suddenly heard voices in the background on her end—someone mentioning ”today’s specials” or something, and indistinctly, ”first floor,” ”second floor.”

Charles Northwood realized Fiona Sutton was in the cafeteria.

So, he immediately grabbed a large umbrella and rushed over from his classroom.

Fiona Sutton was still standing there, her expression as bleak as could be.

”Charles Northwood, let me tell you, since you’ve already made your choice, don’t interfere with me. Forgiving Nia Mitchell is your business; it has nothing to do with me.”

So, don’t try to force me either.

After saying this, Fiona Sutton hung up.

She continued walking, but after only a few steps, she saw Charles Northwood rushing towards her, holding an umbrella.

”Where on earth were you last night?”

Did she go drinking again? How many times did I tell her it’s dangerous for a girl to drink alone outside? Yet, every time she starts drinking, she can’t stop until she’s drunk. With a personality like that, she couldn’t protect herself, no matter how bold she acted.

”It has nothing to do with you! You don’t need to concern yourself!”

Fiona Sutton said, in a pique. She was about to walk away but Charles Northwood grabbed her arm.

”Why doesn’t it have anything to do with me? We’re best friends!”
