Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 121: Chapter 121 I’m Prepared with a 10,000,000 Dowry (7th Wave Erupting)

Since Chen Jianguo had successfully recovered, there was no need to stay at Haishan People’s Hospital any longer.

Afterward, Chen Shanshan handled her father’s discharge procedures, and the family, together with Ye Haochuan, left the inpatient department and arrived at the parking lot.

Once the Chen family had settled into the red BMW, Ye Haochuan started the engine, gently stepped on the gas, and slowly drove out of the hospital.

On the way, Chen Yushan suddenly asked Chen Jianguo, ”Dad, tell me, what exactly happened with you being assaulted? I’ve interrogated those thugs who hit you, and they all say they were acting on orders, but none of them dare to say who’s behind it. Dad, did you offend someone?”

Sitting in the passenger seat, Chen Jianguo sighed, with a look of not wanting to revisit the past.

Sitting in the backseat, next to Chen Yushan, Xue Caining said helplessly, ”Sigh, I wasn’t planning on telling you, but since it’s come to this, I might as well tell the truth.”

Ye Haochuan, who was driving, became interested and listened attentively.

”Here’s what happened: three days ago, your dad accidentally scratched a Lamborghini while cycling home from work. The owner of the car demanded a compensation of 500,000 right then and there. Of course, we should compensate for scratching someone’s car, but with our family’s financial situation, how could we afford it?”

Speaking of compensation, Xue Caining remembered the doctor’s fee for Ye Haochuan and said, ”Right, Haochuan, it was troublesome for you to make a house call today. I forgot to ask how much your fee is. Please tell us so we can pay you. We can’t let you make the trip for nothing.”

Chen Jianguo slapped his forehead and said, ”Yes, yes, yes, Haochuan, although you are Shanshan’s boyfriend, we’re not married yet, so we must settle the doctor’s fee today.”

Ye Haochuan chuckled, ”Uncle Chen, Auntie Xue, what are you saying? Do I look like someone who’s all about the money? Forget it!”

Of course, forget it! You jerk, taking such huge advantage of me and still have the nerve to ask my parents for a doctor’s fee?

Chen Yushan thought angrily.

”Dad, Mom, don’t worry about the doctor’s fee. He’s not going to take it,” Chen Yushan said.

”That won’t do, Shanshan. Since you were little, Dad has taught you not to take advantage of others. Understand?” Chen Jianguo sternly lectured.

Chen Yushan had always been afraid of her father, and seeing his reaction, she dared not say more, obediently closing her mouth.

Ye Haochuan saw her expression through the rear-view mirror and almost laughed out loud, thinking to himself that it’s true what they say, everyone has their match, and this hot-tempered beauty of a police officer is actually afraid of her dad, haha, how interesting!

At that moment, Chen Jianguo again expressed his intention to pay the doctor’s fee to Ye Haochuan.

Ye Haochuan said, ”Alright, since Uncle Chen insists on paying, I have nothing to say. Okay, one million!”

What? One million?

Chen Jianguo and Xue Caining were dumbstruck on the spot. They had lived for more than half their lives and had never heard of a doctor’s fee costing one million.

”Ye Haochuan, you bastard, How dare you take my parents’ money? And even have the audacity to ask for so much? I’ll strangle you!” Chen Yushan jumped up, her fair little hands making a strangling gesture at his neck.

Unfazed, Ye Haochuan just smiled, ”I said I wouldn’t take it, didn’t I? Uncle and Auntie insisted.”

”But you can’t just ask for that much!” Chen Yushan said angrily.

”Please, my dear Officer Chen, you know the saying ’you get what you pay for’, right? With Uncle Chen’s injury, he had severe concussion. If it weren’t for my help, by the time the hospital would have operated, even if he had been revived in time, he’d probably be in a vegetative state now... Oh, sorry, Uncle Chen, please don’t mind me, I’m just telling it like it is.”

Chen Jianguo smiled bitterly and shook his head, without saying a word.

Ye Haochuan continued, ”Moreover, Officer Chen, go and ask around in building number seven at Haishan University. A single pill from me costs several hundred thousand, some even a million. Oh right, there was one that even sold for tens of millions...”

Listening to him speak so confidently, Chen Jianguo, Xue Caining, and Chen Yushan were shocked to the extreme.

”How about this, Uncle Chen, I won’t charge you for the medical fee, and you, in turn, don’t ask for a dowry from me in the future. We’ll be even, how’s that?” Ye Haochuan said with a smile.

”This...” Chen Jianguo forced a smile through his helplessness. Who negotiates like that?

At that moment, Chen Yushan asked in confusion, ”What dowry?”

Ye Haochuan said with a smile, ”Of course, it’s the marriage dowry I would offer to Uncle Chen and Auntie Xue to ask for your hand in marriage!”

Only then did Chen Yushan come to her senses, feeling both embarrassed and annoyed, she grabbed Ye Haochuan’s neck and said, ”You scoundrel, go to hell!”

Chen Yushan, of course, knew how to moderate her strength, but Ye Haochuan still pretended to cough violently, which frightened Chen Jianguo and Xue Caining. They hurried to intervene, and after much persuasion, they finally pulled Chen Yushan away.

Chen Jianguo and Xue Caining immediately scolded her, faulting her for acting out while Ye Haochuan was driving.

Chen Yushan retorted furiously, ”Who told him to be so outrageous?”

Seeing the elders about to scold her further, Ye Haochuan interrupted with a smile, ”Alright, Uncle Chen, Auntie Xue, I was just joking with you. Even if I took a step back, how could I possibly charge you for the medical fee? Otherwise, your future grandsons and granddaughters would curse my backbone.”

Grandsons and granddaughters?

Hearing his humorous tone, Chen Jianguo laughed heartily.

Xue Caining gave Chen Jianguo a dark look for being improper before shaking her head. This Ye Haochuan was truly too funny.

Chen Yushan, meanwhile, gnashed her teeth in anger. This jerk, just wait and see how I’ll deal with you later!

”Alright, alright, we won’t mention this medical fee again, but we will still expect a dowry, of course. Don’t worry, we the old couple won’t take it. Once you and Shanshan are married, we’ll give it to Shanshan. She’s our precious daughter, after all,” said Chen Jianguo with a smile.

Ye Haochuan grinned, ”Fair enough, fair enough. When the time comes, I’ll prepare a ten million dowry to welcome Yushan into my home in style.”

A ten million dowry?

Chen Jianguo and Xue Caining couldn’t stop grinning. Such a large dowry would certainly earn them respect if word got out!

Even Chen Yushan, at this moment, was so stunned by the mention of ten million that she found herself at a loss for words.

”Alright, Uncle Chen, Auntie Xue, let’s continue discussing the matter of that Lamborghini owner. I want to hear more about it, I might have a way to solve this for you,” Ye Haochuan said earnestly.

Xue Caining then resumed the previous topic, ”We can’t afford to compensate that car owner with five hundred thousand. Shanshan’s dad really had no other choice but to plead with the car owner to accept less. But that person was utterly unreasonable, insisting on the full five hundred thousand without a cent less, and demanded it be paid within ten days. Shanshan’s dad couldn’t take it anymore and decided to call the police, but afterwards, that car owner brought a bunch of thugs...”

Now everything was clear.

Ye Haochuan immediately cursed, ”Scum of the earth!”

Chen Yushan was also furious, ”Dad, do you remember that car owner’s license plate number?”

”I was beaten up like this, of course, I remember!” Chen Jianguo said, grinding his teeth, and then he recited the car owner’s license plate number.

Chen Yushan memorized it carefully.

At this moment, a red BMW turned into a residential area, and suddenly, Chen Jianguo’s eyes widened, ”Those bastards, they actually had the nerve to come to our door.”
