Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 108: Chapter 108 Can’t Block It At All!

Everyone in the room watched Ma Jinlian as if she were the butt of a joke.

Tang Zhen’s face flushed with embarrassment as he said in a deep voice, ”Don’t talk nonsense, Doctor Ye’s medical skill has even been praised by my master. You all witnessed it this time, it was thanks to the medicinal pill he provided that stabilized the condition; otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to save Old Master Han.”

”What’s so special about a single pill? If it weren’t for your brilliant medical skills, Doctor Tang, it wouldn’t have done any good... Ouch, Dad, why are you hitting me?” Ma Jinlian screamed in disbelief.

As it turned out, Old Han suddenly leapt off the bed and slapped Ma Jinlian across the face, leaving her utterly dumbfounded.

Everyone at the scene was shocked.

The family of Elder Han was utterly confused, except for Han Xue’er, who knew exactly what was going on.

At this point, when Elder Han saw his father about to hit someone again, he quickly held him back and asked, ”Dad, why... why are you hitting my sister-in-law?”

Old Han said angrily, ”Why do I hit her? This shrew, all day long she spouts nonsense. Doctor Ye is my life-saving benefactor, the great benefactor of the Han Family, how can she gossip about him?”

A life-saving benefactor?

The crowd was again confused by what they heard.

Then Han Xue’er stepped forward and recounted her grandfather’s ordeal at Chenghuang Temple in full detail, only omitting the part about her grandfather intending to introduce her to Ye Haochuan as a girlfriend.

People finally understood and couldn’t help admiring Ye Haochuan’s wit in dealing with the antique shop owner, his generosity in donating a large sum of money to Old Han despite the powerful threats from the wealthy and influential Young Master Xiao, and his courage to stand his ground.

Elder Han and his spouse kept thanking Ye Haochuan incessantly.

And the simple and honest Han Dazhuang even tried to kneel down to kowtow to him several times, but was stopped by Ye Haochuan.

”Dazhuang, a man’s knees are as precious as gold; one only kneels to heaven, earth, and his parents. I didn’t help Old Master Han for any reward, but mainly because I couldn’t stand the antique shop owner making unscrupulous money with a guilty conscience,” Ye Haochuan said earnestly.

With these words, he once again won a round of applause from everyone.

On her lovely face, Han Xue’er showed a look of infatuation; even a blind person could see she had feelings for Ye Haochuan.

Ye Haochuan was a bit naughty and often teased her, but it was always just on the surface, and he was open about it, never going beyond that.

Not like Young Master Jin, who always pestered her. To get her, he would stoop to any low tactic, even drugging her. If she hadn’t been vigilant, she might have already fallen prey to him.

Moreover, she was well aware that Young Master Jin was a notorious playboy in Haishan, having played with countless girls. If she married him, her life would be ruined, and her end would be miserable.

At this point, Ma Jinlian finally realized that Ye Haochuan had such capabilities. However, thinking about how she had been publicly slapped by Old Han, she felt resentful once again.

”Xue’er, you did this on purpose, didn’t you? If you knew all this from the start, why didn’t you speak up earlier?” Ma Jinlian, covering her burning cheek, glared at Han Xue’er resentfully.

”I... I meant to tell, but I didn’t get a chance just now,” Han Xue’er said, lowering her pretty face and speaking softly.

Ma Jinlian was furious. Was the slapping she had just endured all for nothing?

At this moment, Old Han turned to Ye Haochuan and said, ”Junior Brother Ye, thank you very much this time, for saving this old coot’s life once again.”

”Old Master, don’t speak like that. I’ve only provided a pill. The real effort was made by Doctor Tang. If it wasn’t for Doctor Tang’s miraculous healing, would you be recovering so quickly?” smiled Ye Haochuan.

As he listened to Ye Haochuan subtly praising him, Tang Zhen felt even more embarrassed and quickly said, ”Brother Haochuan, don’t say that. Your medical skills are far superior to mine, not to mention your medical ethics are much more commendable. I concede to you.”

He spoke from the heart, but remembering Kou Jing, he found it hard to consider Ye Haochuan a true friend, so he took the opportunity to take his leave: ”Now that Old Master’s illness is no longer a serious concern, I should be heading back.”

Elder Han and his family eagerly tried to persuade him to stay, but Tang Zhen was resolute, adding, ”I’m really sorry, but we at Security Hall have much busyness to attend to every day, and I need to get back to help. Moreover, the helicopter arranged by Young Master Jin is still waiting outside...”

Elder Han and others persisted, but Tang Zhen still wanted to leave, and the family finally gave up.

Initially, the reason Ye Haochuan had fostered a relationship with him was to secure a helicopter ride back to Haishan.

However, before Ye Haochuan could even ask, Ma Jinlian blurted out with sardonic derision, ”Oh, Doctor Ye, the accommodations here are substandard, and there are lots of mosquitoes at night. Why don’t you take the helicopter back to Haishan with Doctor Tang?”

No wonder she was so eager to send Ye Haochuan away. She was mainly worried that Ye Haochuan would disrupt things, ruining the marriage proposal between Young Master Jin and her niece, Xue’er. If that happened, she’d lose the benefits promised to her by Young Master Jin.

Moreover, she had been observing covertly and noticed that her niece, Xue’er, seemed to have an unusual interest in Ye Haochuan.

Considering that this young man was both wealthy and capable and had done a favor for the old man, she feared that in a moment of excitement, the elder might dismiss Young Master Jin’s proposal and betroth Xue Girl to Ye Haochuan. Then it would be too late for anything.

What she didn’t anticipate was Old Han’s reaction to her words as he glared and barked, ”Nonsense! Keep your mouth shut! Talk nonsense again, and I’ll slap you!”

Having already been slapped by Old Han earlier, Ma Jinlian was full of resentment. With this additional scolding, she couldn’t hold back and began to make a scene: ”Dad, what nonsense did I say? Even you know the condition of your eldest son’s house, all broken and shabby. Where do you expect Doctor Ye to stay?”

Ye Haochuan had already taken a dislike to Ma Jinlian, and he naturally wanted to retaliate. He smirked, ”Auntie Ma, there’s no need for you to worry about it. I’m really curious, though—you’re so eager to get me out of here, what ill intent could you possibly have?”

Upon hearing this, the whole Han family turned their eyes toward Ma Jinlian with disapproval.

Striking a nerve, Ma Jinlian’s face turned red, and she defiantly said, ”What ill intent could I have? Don’t spout nonsense! I was just considering your well-being...”

”Considering my well-being?” chuckled Ye Haochuan. ”I think you’re actually considering Young Master Jin’s interests, right?”

Ma Jinlian argued back, ”Nonsense!”

Ye Haochuan chuckled, ”Whether I’m spouting nonsense or not, you know very well in your heart.”

At this moment, Elder Han asked suspiciously, ”Who is this Young Master Jin?”

Elder Han promptly recounted the matter of Young Master Jin asking his sister-in-law to matchmake, briefly explaining Young Master Jin’s family background.

Old Han refused outright: ”What do I care about his family background? I’ve made up my mind that my granddaughter from the Han family can only marry a young man of loyalty and righteousness like Junior Brother Ye. I don’t approve of anyone else.”

Everyone was stunned.

Ye Haochuan’s eyelid twitched. Old Master Han, truly stubbornly adorable. I only helped him a bit, and he’s already thinking of pushing his granddaughter toward me!

Ha ha, this stroke of luck has come flying my way, and I can’t even dodge it!
