Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 104: Chapter 104: A Coincidental Meeting with Han Xue’er

This place was clearly a stretch of deep mountains and forests, completely unfamiliar. How was he supposed to find his way back?

”If you’re going to burn bridges after crossing the river, then just do it,” Long Piaoying said bitterly with a glare.

Damn, women are really not creatures to be easily offended. So what if I looked at your body? In the worst case, I’ll strip myself naked and let you have a good look too!

That way, I check you out, you check me out, and nobody loses, right?

Ye Haochuan grumbled inwardly.

Immortal Aunt really did what she said she would. In no time, she flew to the outskirts of a village, set him down, dropped a ”take care of yourself,” and then took off on her sword flight, not giving Ye Haochuan any chance to protest.

As one could imagine, the shadows in Ye Haochuan’s heart at this moment must have been immense.

It was already deep into the night, and Ye Haochuan didn’t know the way, so it seemed his only choice was to find a house in the village to rest for the night and continue on his way in the morning.

As he entered the village, Ye Haochuan noticed that most of the houses were dark and quiet, with only one still brightly lit. He couldn’t help feeling delighted and walked towards it.

Just as he approached the courtyard of that house, a surprised voice suddenly rang out, ”Brother Ye, is that you?”

The voice was crisp and familiar. Ye Haochuan looked closely and saw a petite and cute girl squatting under the eaves. It was the little nurse Han Xue’er!

The moonlight was bright, pouring over her delicate and weak body, casting a long shadow behind her. The cool night air and the chilly breeze fluttering her white floral dress made her shiver slightly, a frail sight that evoked feelings of tenderness and care.

No way, in such a godforsaken place, to actually run into her?

Ye Haochuan could hardly believe his eyes and blurted out in disbelief, ”Xue’er beauty, what are you doing here? Hey, why are you crying? Tell me, who’s the blind jerk that bullied our white-cloaked angel into this state?”

Seeing the tears on Han Xue’er’s pretty face, Ye Haochuan felt an inexplicable pang of heartache.

Han Xue’er wiped the tears from her face and stood up to meet him. Her large, round eyes blinked, and with a joyful expression, she said, ”Brother Ye, how did you come here? Did you come to see me?”

Finding an old acquaintance in a foreign place, Ye Haochuan was ecstatic. The previously awful mood caused by Immortal Aunt had suddenly improved. He blinked and said with a smile, ”Yeah, Brother Ye did come especially to see you.”

However, although Han Xue’er might have a big chest, she was not necessarily brainless. She expressed her disbelief, ”Brother Ye, you’re lying. You came all the way here in the middle of the night just to see me? Yeah, right.”

Boy, this little piece was not so easy to fool, was she!

Ye Haochuan’s face flushed, but he was always thick-skinned. He chuckled, ”Xue’er beauty, I’m really not lying to you. Should I swear to heaven?”

”No need.” Han Xue’er glanced at him shyly, her cheeks reddening as she said softly, ”I believe you, Brother Ye.”

”Haha,” Ye Haochuan laughed loudly, ”that’s more like it.”

Just then, the door to the main room opened, and a middle-aged woman decked out flamboyantly walked out. Before Ye Haochuan could get a clear look at her, the woman bellowed, ”Xue girl, who is this wild man?”

Damn, wild man? Is she talking about me?

Ye Haochuan was a bit annoyed, but considering he’d likely have to spend the night at Han Xue’er’s place, he didn’t want to offend anyone unnecessarily and kept quiet, sizing her up with scrutinizing eyes instead.

It goes without saying that this middle-aged woman looked decent enough, dressed in a floral blouse that conveyed a hint of flirtation. However, some freckles marred her face and her skin was somewhat dark. Her eyes slanted slightly upward, and she held her head high, her mouth always carried a slant that gave off an air of condescension and arrogance.

”Stepmother, this is the one I told you about, the acclaimed doctor from Haishan University, Doctor Ye Haochuan,” Han Xue’er hurriedly explained.

After speaking, Han Xue’er introduced her stepmother to Ye Haochuan. It turned out her name was Ma Jinlian, Han Xue’er’s stepmother.

Ye Haochuan suddenly remembered, previously when he called Han Xue’er while in the cave, the person who answered the phone claiming to be Xue’er’s stepmother had a voice reminiscent of the roar of a lioness. Could it be the same middle-aged woman standing before him?

”Just a college doctor, and so young too, you dare to claim that your medical skills are exquisite?” Han Xue’er’s stepmother came over with disdain, sizing up Ye Haochuan judgmentally, she scoffed, ”What are you doing here so late at night?”

Ye Haochuan was about to say he had come to seek lodging when Han Xue’er cut in, ”Stepmother, the thing is, Brother Ye is here to treat Grandfather.”

I’m the one you invited to treat your grandfather?

Ye Haochuan found it somewhat baffling, but in the current situation, it clearly wasn’t his place to interject, so he watched quietly to see how things would unfold.

”Brother Ye? Hmph, Xue Girl, you sure seem quite fond of calling him Brother Ye,” Ma Jinlian snorted, ”Xue Girl, your Stepmother must give you a warning. You’re about to marry into a wealthy family. You must keep yourself pure and not ruin your happiness, do you understand?”

Han Xue’er is marrying into a wealthy family? Since when did I not know about this?

Ye Haochuan became even more confused. This news was completely unexpected.

Glancing at Han Xue’er, Ye Haochuan asked, ”Xue’er, are you getting married?”

Surprisingly, Han Xue’er hung her head low, her pretty face devoid of any joy or shyness. Instead, her eyes revealed a look of indignation and fear, which pained Ye Haochuan deeply.

”Xue’er, is someone forcing you to get married? Tell Brother Ye, I’ll back you up...”

Just then, Ma Jinlian interrupted, ”Hey, hey, hey, what are you talking about? What do you mean forcing Xue’er to marry? She’s doing it willingly, okay? Xue’er, tell your Stepmother in front of her, isn’t that right?”

Han Xue’er continued to sulk, remaining silent.

Ye Haochuan understood the situation clearly in his heart. If he couldn’t see the underlying issues here, he would’ve lived his twenty-some years in vain.

Just as he was about to seek clarity from Han Xue’er, a seemingly honest and simple middle-aged man emerged from the house. He asked Han Xue’er, ”Daughter, has your brother returned from Security Hall in the city with the Divine Doctor?”

The middle-aged man was none other than Han Xue’er’s father, Han Tie. He was so named because he inherited the family’s traditional iron-smithing skills.

He also had a nickname, known as Old Master Han.

With her lower lip bitten, Han Xue’er replied, ”Father, Big Brother hasn’t returned yet.”

”Oh, this is truly nerve-racking,” Elder Han lamented as he hit his chest in frustration, urging her, ”Quickly call your brother and tell him to hurry.”

After hesitating for a moment, Han Xue’er finally said, ”Father, actually, the person beside me, he is a doctor. His name is Ye Haochuan, and he is very good at medicine. He’s quite famous at Haishan University...”

Elder Han’s eyes lit up, and he turned his eager gaze toward Ye Haochuan, pleading, ”Doctor Ye, please, I beg you, save my old man. I’ll kneel for you.”
