Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 118: Chapter 118 Being Used as a Gun (4th Wave of Outbreaks)

Chen Yushan listened with displeasure.

”This jerk, such a jinx! What does he mean by ’hidden ailment’? Outsiders might think I, the officer, have some unspeakable illness!”

Just as she was about to retort, she was held back by her mother and glared at, so she had no choice but to close her mouth.

Seeing her daughter calm down, Xue Caining then said, ”Doctor Ye, I am very thankful for your miraculous treatment that addressed the ailment troubling our Shanshan. On behalf of our entire family, I would like to express our gratitude to you.”

Ye Haochuan smiled and replied, ”Auntie Xue, you’re too kind. Saving lives and healing the wounded is our duty as medical practitioners. Besides, Officer Chen’s ailment has not been completely cured. Several more treatments are still needed for a full recovery.”

”As long as it can be fully cured, then I am relieved. In any case, thank you,” Xue Caining said gratefully.

Chen Yushan, who was standing by, listened impatiently, especially at the thought of having to let this lecher take advantage of her several more times made her quite uncomfortable. She said, ”Mom, when will you be done? Dad hasn’t woken up yet; let this jerk... let him see Dad’s injuries first, there’s plenty of time for this nonsense later.”

”Always so impatient,” Xue Caining said helplessly as she gave her daughter a look, then smiling at Ye Haochuan, she said, ”Doctor Ye, let’s not waste time then. Please, could you help see what’s wrong with Shanshan’s father and try to get him to wake up as soon as possible?”

”Of course, Auntie Xue.”

Ye Haochuan immediately went to the bedside and glanced at Chen Yushan’s father on the bed.

From the wrinkles on his face, Chen Yushan’s father appeared to be in his forties, with a gaunt face, sporting a slicked-back hairstyle, his hair flecked with not a few white strands. He wore an old white shirt, its collar frayed, showing signs of age, clearly a man of frugality and simplicity.

Ye Haochuan had great respect for such a person, so when examining him, he was extra careful and thorough, even going so far as to activate his Perspective Eyes.

But standing there directly, without any tools, not even a stethoscope, relying solely on his eyes, made Xue Caining very nervous, wondering if this young doctor really had the medical skills her daughter claimed he did.

After a good while, Ye Haochuan finally stopped examining and took a deep breath, saying, ”Uncle Chen’s injury is indeed quite severe, already a serious concussion. However, I’m confident that in five minutes, I can get Uncle Chen to wake up and recover completely.”

Hearing his diagnosis that her husband had a severe concussion, Xue Caining thought to herself that it was miraculous, the same exact diagnosis as Haishan People’s Hospital!

From then on, she had full confidence in Ye Haochuan and said joyfully, ”Doctor Ye, are you serious?”

Ye Haochuan nodded.

”That’s wonderful, Doctor Ye, thank you,” Xue Caining said, crying with joy.

Chen Yushan arrogantly spoke at the right moment, ”Mom, see, I told you so, Doctor Ye really is skilled. Those doctors at Haishan People’s Hospital ran a whole bunch of auxiliary tests, one moment a skull X-ray, the next a lumbar puncture to measure pressure, then an EEG, so many things, to finally diagnose a severe concussion. Doctor Ye, on the other hand, just took one look to diagnose.”

Xue Caining smiled and gave her daughter a look, ”Always showing off, aren’t you?”

Chen Yushan giggled, hugging her mother’s arm, acting like a sweetly dependent bird.

Ye Haochuan turned to Xue Caining, ”Auntie Xue, I’m going to start treating Uncle Chen now, using a traditional acupuncture technique...”

”As long as you are confident, I support you,” Xue Caining said.

Ye Haochuan hummed in response, about to unravel the bandage on Chen Yushan’s father’s head, when an angry man’s voice came from the door of the ward, ”Hey, what are you doing? Stop right now!”

Turning his head to look, Ye Haochuan saw a man in a white lab coat enter, his attire clearly that of a doctor, in his mid-twenties, tall, wearing glasses, with a refined and gentle appearance.

However, Ye Haochuan noticed that as soon as the male doctor entered, the eyes hidden behind his glasses kept glancing at Chen Yushan, filled with passion and infatuation.

Seeing this male doctor come in to interfere, Xue Caining was a bit at a loss for what to say in explanation, but Chen Yushan was undeterred and shot back, ”Yu Haolin, are you sick? Shouting and screaming like that, do you even deserve to be called a doctor? Don’t you know to follow the hospital’s rules?”

Yu Haolin advanced with a face that softened considerably upon nearing Chen Yushan, behaving like a docile cat and said with an embarrassed smile, ”Yushan, haven’t I told you? I, as the primary physician, will do my utmost to treat Uncle Chen’s injuries. I know you’re currently short on money and can’t afford to have Uncle Chen undergo surgery, but don’t worry, I’ve already paid the expenses upfront, so we can perform the surgery at any time.”

”I don’t want it!” Chen Yushan retorted categorically.

Ye Haochuan was puzzled, what grudge does this Yu Haolin have against her to receive such a cold treatment?

One thing he was sure of, though, was that Chen Yushan definitely knew Yu Haolin.

At that moment, Xue Caining felt she could not bear to watch any longer and pulled her daughter aside, trying not to let her continue, and addressed Yu Haolin, ”Doctor Yu, here’s the thing, Shanshan is just really worried about her dad not waking up, so we invited a friend from Haishan University, Doctor Ye Haochuan, to help.”

”A campus doctor from Haishan University?” Yu Haolin looked at Ye Haochuan with an expression of disdain, and said to Xue Caining, ”Auntie Xue, while I understand your concerns, really, what extraordinary medical skills can a mere university campus doctor have? He’s all about reputation and nothing more!”

All about reputation and nothing more?

Upon hearing that, Ye Haochuan felt a bit annoyed inside, damn it, just because you’re a doctor from the People’s Hospital, you strut around like you own the place. Even if your medical skills are extraordinary, what of it? Your medical ethics, you’ve thrown those away!

Then, Xue Caining spoke up, ”Doctor Yu, it’s not that Auntie doesn’t trust your hospital, nor do we doubt the medical skills of the primary physician, it’s just that we’re so anxious for Shanshan’s dad, we all hope he can wake up sooner.”

”Auntie Xue, I understand, but no matter how anxious you are, you shouldn’t just seek help in your panic, you must trust our hospital, trust me as the primary physician.”

At this, Yu Haolin turned to Ye Haochuan with a stern face, ”Campus doctor from Haishan University, is it? If it’s nothing important, you should just stay put in your Haishan University Hospital, chat and waste time. This is none of your business, so hurry on back.”

Seeing his overbearing and arrogant demeanor, Ye Haochuan, though usually calm, couldn’t help but feel a surge of anger. Damn it, what kind of trash is this, acting all high and mighty in front of me?

Just then, Chen Yushan, noticing his displeased expression, knew he was on the verge of exploding. Remembering his past ways of handling things and fearing he might harm Yu Haolin, bringing even more trouble, she quickly stepped in to mediate.

”Yu Haolin, shut your mouth. What does it matter if you are the primary physician? I’m a family member of the patient, and I have the right to let another doctor treat my dad. Besides, he’s my boyfriend, and I won’t allow you to target him like this.”

Boyfriend?

Ye Haochuan felt a wave of dizziness upon hearing this. At first, he felt a rush of happiness, but that quickly turned to annoyance. Damn, I’ve been used as a pawn.
