Invincible Little School Doctor

Chapter 117: Chapter 117: Close Call (Third Wave Eruption)

Seeing Han Xue’er so concerned about himself, Ye Haochuan did not want to let her down, he said helplessly, ”Okay, for the sake of my wife, today I will give the bank some face.”

Hearing him call her ”wife,” Han Xue’er blushed coquettishly and shot him a glance, but she didn’t blame him.

Ye Haochuan felt amused, then he took out his cell phone, dialed the bank’s customer service number, and explained the situation.

The female bank customer service representative immediately said she would arrange for nearby branch staff to come over, and asked him not to leave.

Ye Haochuan thought he might as well do a good deed thoroughly, so he and the Han siblings returned to the car to wait patiently. Soon, an unknown number called him, and when he answered, a neutral-sounding man said, ”Is this Mr. Ye?”

”Yes.”

”Mr. Ye, hello, my name is Manager Liao from this area. Regarding the issue you just reported, may I know what exactly happened?”

”It was like this, I was at your bank’s standalone ATM, withdrawing ten thousand yuan, but it dispensed an extra three thousand. I didn’t know what happened, so I called your bank’s customer service...”

”Oh, I understand now. It seems like our ATM malfunctioned. We will contact the staff to handle this shortly, can you please wait for a while?”

”I’m actually busy now, how long will that take?” Ye Haochuan was getting a bit impatient.

”Ah, I’m sorry, Mr. Ye. Since the staff have already left for the day, it might take about an hour for them to get there. Please wait patiently.”

Ye Haochuan grew even more impatient, ”How long? Another hour or so? I don’t have time to wait!”

After a brief silence, Manager Liao continued, ”Mr. Ye, to avoid unnecessary disputes, please make sure you do not leave the scene...”

”Avoid unnecessary disputes? Who are you trying to scare?” Ye Haochuan was a bit pissed off, ”Has your bank gotten too used to bossing people around? Why should I wait here? It’s not my fault that the machine dispensed extra money! Just check the surveillance yourself! I’ll look after the money for you, call this number tomorrow to get it! Goodbye!”

Saying this, he hung up the phone angrily.

Han Xue’er had wanted to urge him to calm down, but just as she was about to speak, Ye Haochuan’s phone rang again.

Ye Haochuan initially thought it was the bank manager calling back, but when he looked at the phone, it turned out to be Chen Yushan.

Strange, what could the beautiful police officer want? Could her condition be acting up again? Surely not!

Pressing the answer button, Ye Haochuan said with a laugh, ”Officer Chen, what’s up? Are you experiencing a relapse and need me... hehe.”

After chuckling lewdly, a gentle female voice came from the receiver, ”Is this Ye Haochuan, Doctor Ye? I am Chen Yushan’s mother, Xue Caining.”

Good Lord! Chen Yushan’s mother?

Ye Haochuan broke out in a sweat, damn, flirting with a beautiful police officer and accidentally ending up flirting with her mother, lucky he didn’t say anything too inappropriate.

Steadying his nerves, Ye Haochuan put on a big smile, ”Ah, it’s Auntie Xue! Yes, this is Ye Haochuan, hello, hello.”

”Doctor Ye, don’t be so formal. I was wondering, do you have time right now?”

What did she mean by that? Could Chen Yushan’s mother already know about my affair with her?

To hell with it, what affair? Where is my mind going? But treating her chest condition with massages, does that count as an affair?

Ye Haochuan cautiously laughed, ”I’m available, Auntie Xue. What do you need?”

”This is what happened: Shanshan’s father was beaten and is now lying in the hospital. After Shanshan visited just now, she was furious and has gone to catch the assailant. Before she left, she gave me her phone to call you to see if you could check on her father...”

It was at this point that Ye Haochuan finally understood. Officer Chen Yushan really did act decisively, not hesitating at all to arrest someone!

”But Auntie Xue, Uncle Chen is at Haishan People’s Hospital. The doctors there can check on Uncle Chen,” Ye Haochuan said.

”This is the situation. After Shanshan’s father was beaten, he has not woken up until now. We are all quite anxious. Shanshan said that your medical skills are superb, which is why we want you to come and have a look,” Xue Caining said.

Ye Haochuan frowned, ”But I’m not a doctor at Haishan People’s Hospital. It seems inappropriate for me to go there, doesn’t it?”

”We’ve thought about that issue as well, but Shanshan’s father is still unconscious and, according to the doctors, his condition is quite serious. We are desperate, Doctor Ye. Your medical skills are so remarkable, we beg you to come and help us out, please? Regarding the consultation fee, our family will do whatever it takes, even if we have to sell everything we own.”

Sell everything they own!

With things having reached this point, what could Ye Haochuan do? He could only respond: ”Alright then, Auntie Xue, you just wait, I’ll be right there.”

After hanging up, Ye Haochuan told Han Dazhuang and Han Xue’er, the siblings, about the situation of Chen Yushan’s father.

As a nurse by training, Han Xue’er knew the importance of saving lives. She said, ”Then Brother Ye, you should hurry on. Don’t worry about us. We’ll get off here. Since we’ve just rented a new place, my brother and I can handle the moving in.”

Ye Haochuan nodded, took the opportunity when Han Dazhuang got out of the car first, and teased Han Xue’er with a chuckle, ”Wife, shouldn’t you give your husband a farewell kiss?”

Having said that, he deliberately winked.

Han Xue’er couldn’t stand his teasing, especially with her brother just outside the car. Blushing, she spat, ”In your dreams!”

However, she still blew him a kiss and, with giggles, gracefully jumped out of the car.

Watching her jump out of the car, her chest pronouncedly moving with her vigorous motion, Ye Haochuan felt a surge of heat; this little sprite, I’ll deal with you when I get back!

After bidding farewell to the siblings, Ye Haochuan started his BMW and sped towards Haishan People’s Hospital.

Half an hour later, he arrived at Haishan People’s Hospital and met Xue Caining and the beautiful police officer, Chen Yushan, in Ward 402.

Right then, Chen Yushan’s father was lying on the hospital bed, unconscious.

”Officer Chen, I’m here,” Ye Haochuan greeted with a smile.

Chen Yushan nodded and said urgently, ”Jerk... uh, Doctor Ye, why did you take so long?”

She had let her habitual insult slip in the heat of the moment upon seeing Ye Haochuan. Realizing her mistake, she quickly corrected herself.

Xue Caining was startled, thinking, Doctor Ye has come all this way to treat your father, how can you swear at him like that?

So she scolded, ”Shanshan, how can you be so rude? Apologize to Doctor Ye right now!”

”Mom, please don’t interfere, this is between him and me.”

Remembering all that had happened before, Chen Yushan still harbored resentment against Ye Haochuan, and had no intention of apologizing.

Xue Caining frowned, thinking to herself how she had raised such a disobedient daughter. Just as she was about to scold her, Ye Haochuan stepped in to smooth things over, smiling, ”Auntie Xue, it’s okay, it’s okay. Officer Chen has her health issues, which affect her mood. I understand.”
