Demon Cultivator in Abyssal Era

Chapter 33: Chapter 33: Super Heavy Armor!

”Unlocked the Second Layer Restriction!”

Chu Xiu eagerly focused his thoughts, and immediately three options appeared before him.

[Thorn Stab] The spines on the outer armor are now sharper, and when attacked, it will activate the explosion restriction to shoot out (Power: 2.0)

[Heavy Armor] Strengthen the thickness of the bone, readjust the overall structure, sacrificing some flexibility to greatly enhance defense capabilities (Defense +4.8, Energy Absorption +1.0, Spine +0.6, Weight +16kg, slight joint mobility restriction.)

[Power] The current bone armor can provide additional power, enhancing the wearer’s strength (Constitution +2.0)

The options in front of him made Chu Xiu take a deep breath.

All three enhancements are very practical!

Compared to the first layer restriction, the enhancements from the second layer are even more impressive!

The first counterattack option, with a power of 2.0, is already very useful, the second option boosts Chu Xiu’s already strong defense significantly, while the last one can timely make up for his lack of basic attribute points, improving hunting efficiency.

Chu Xiu looked conflicted.

He wanted all of them so much!

For someone with decision-making difficulties, this is undoubtedly a huge test.

After standing there contemplating for a while, Chu Xiu finally chose [Heavy Armor].

This choice was primarily made based on practical needs.

[Thorn Stab] was excluded first, as he didn’t lack attacking means, and the power of 2.0 is mainly good for clearing small enemies, with limited effect on elite large monsters.

Though the remaining Power option was enticing, his current battles with corpse demons involved more of a ”defensive line” scenario, where improving defense can provide more margin for error, and the attack could be supplemented by Yin Ghosts.

For example, the elite corpse demon encountered that night, if he had the +7 Energy Absorption Heavy Armor, he might have taken the opponent’s bizarre long-range attack without injury!

With Chu Xiu’s decision, the surplus corpse material on the ground began to fuse and assemble. About three minutes later, his bone armor went through an earth-shattering transformation!

Compared to before, the plates of the armor were thicker, overlapping like an indestructible moving fortress! The spines on the outer armor were also longer and emitted a terrifying cold gleam.

Donning the bone armor, Chu Xiu’s visual height grew by about ten centimeters, resembling a skeletal War God over one meter ninety!

Chu Xiu tapped the thick plates on his chest, feeling that even an assault rifle might not penetrate it.

Unfortunately, no matter how the armor’s structure was optimized, there were limits; gaining some means losing some.

With a substantial increase in plate numbers and thickness, joint mobility was markedly diminished.

And also...

”Damn, this thing is really heavy,” Chu Xiu couldn’t help but complain.

After enhancement, the total weight of the bone armor was close to fifty kilograms!

In ancient times, let alone a fifty-kilogram heavy armor, even a thirty-kilogram one was rare, usually requiring a mount to fight long-term; infantry wearing such would be exhausted before reaching combat!

This weight was pressuring even with his current constitution!

Nonetheless, compared to the sense of security provided by the thick armor plates, this weight was trivial.

”Alright, time to collect other spoils.”

Chu Xiu’s eyes sparkled.

Killing this elite corpse dog yielded a direct drop of 47 Cause and Effect Points! And also a [Fine] quality item [Type 002 Corpse Demon First Aid Hormone Concentrate]

This thing can quickly heal injuries but has a certain toxicity; ordinary people using it might get diarrhea.

Chu Xiu recalled that while fighting the elite corpse dog earlier, the opponent had healed itself with this skill after taking a hit from a Yin Wind Blade.

”Good stuff!”

Worthy of an elite monster indeed.

The drop rate was really high!

And it’s a rare item he could actually use.

”With these three tubes, uh... healing hormones, my margin for error can further improve.”

Chu Xiu joyfully placed them into his storage space.

Of course, his gains didn’t end there; the remaining ordinary corpse demons also had loot, totaling 29 Cause and Effect Points and two [Ordinary] quality pieces of equipment.

”Pity, neither the weapon nor the leather armor is useful for me.”

”I’ll have to use your corpses to compensate for my losses.”

Chu Xiu pointed, and the essence blood of the elite corpse dog was absorbed into his body. As he expected, the elite monster contained a strong life force, instantly advancing the cultivation progress of his [Bloodthirsty Heart Refining Technique] by 14 points.

Then he waved the bone banner, gathering all the life souls of the corpse demons, quickly filling the bone banner’s storage capacity.

Chu Xiu didn’t hesitate, pointed at the elite corpse dog’s body, and it began refining, replenishing the bone banner.

Instantly, the elite monster’s high-quality body caused the bone banner’s enhancement progress to soar, leveling up directly by two!

Moreover, the divine soul of this elite corpse dog was exceptionally fierce, occupying 23 points of space in life soul status, immediately beginning to tear at other life souls once inside the bone banner.

This made Chu Xiu even happier.

”The quality of a Yin Ghost largely depends on the strength of the ’Main Soul’.”

”The first Yin Ghost I refined had a Main Soul from an ordinary Black-haired Corpse Ghost, though strong among Black-haired Corpse Ghosts, the final product was only Mortal Tier Level 7.”

”I wonder what the final product will be for this elite life soul!”

At this moment, with more than thirty corpse demons, their combined souls long met the birth condition for a second Yin Ghost. Chu Xiu didn’t hesitate, swinging the soul banner to collect all the life souls, and then cast a refining technique.

Immediately, the life soul of the elite corpse demon grew more violent, voraciously devouring other life souls.

With a flourish, Chu Xiu stored the bone banner and led the wild boar away from the battle area.

Although most bodies had been refined, some scent remained, possibly attracting other monsters.

Finding a safe spot in a residential building, Chu Xiu focused on refining Yin Souls.

Soon, with a furious roar from the bone banner, Chu Xiu’s eyes lit up with delight.

The second Yin Ghost was complete!

Chu Xiu eagerly checked the attributes.

[Yin Ghost]

[Tier] Mortal Tier Level 8

[Attributes] Constitution 0, Spirit 11.2, Energy Level 12.4

[Skills] Yin Wind Blade (Minor Achievement), Life Absorption (Introduction)

[Traits] Soul Body (significantly reduces physical damage, attributes decrease under strong sunlight.)

[Talent] Materialize (convert to a physical form, lose trait [Soul Body], gain trait [Sharp Claws], lose skill [Life Absorption], gain skill [Powerful Claw Strike], Constitution +14.9)

”Mortal Tier Level 8!”

”I knew it; using a stronger Main Soul indeed refines a stronger Yin Ghost!”

Chu Xiu exclaimed joyfully.

But then, he shook his head, slightly disappointed.

”However, the strength of Yin Ghosts ultimately has a limit.”

”Even if I use stronger life souls, at most, I can refine Mortal Tier Level 9 Corpse Demons, not break through to Warrior Tier.”

”Improvements happen, but no earth-shattering change.”

”To refine stronger Yin Ghosts, I must continue leveling up and unlock more advanced inheritance.”

Chu Xiu sighed silently.

If his thoughts were overheard, others might be furious.

Come on, you, a mere Mortal Tier Level 5 Awakened one, already possess a Level 7 and Level 8 henchman, isn’t that enough?

But Chu Xiu wasn’t satisfied.

After resting a while, eating several chunks of wild boar meat, and storing the remaining valuable parts, he tirelessly set forth with his two Yin Ghosts through the neighborhood.

”Time to continue consolidating.”

”Grind, keep grinding till the end!”
