Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 2038: Chapter 50: Starting Today, You Are the Captain!

Crack.

Amidst a violent cracking sound and the captain’s scream, his arm deformed and he flew away.

This was after Pierz felt the explosion of his own power and slightly restrained his power level; otherwise, this move might have killed the captain.

”This, this, this.”

Watching the captain lord fall to the ground, with life or death unknown, a group of night patrol team members were at a loss.

They never expected that their team’s captain, who was almost invincible in their eyes, would lose to an outsider challenger.

And in such a violent manner of failure.

It’s apparent that the last hit was Pierz unleashing some kind of power in retaliation. What if that was his true power?

It’s terrifying to think about, knowing that the captain was defeated with a single punch.

This group of giants quickly turned their gaze away under Pierz’s watchful eyes, not daring to meet his gaze.

”Haha, I won. In that case, I will...”

Pierz won the battle and came back to his senses, feeling as if he were dreaming, knowing that he alone had subdued the entire night patrol squad.

It was something he never dared to imagine even in his dreams.

But now he’s achieved it, he instantly felt the suffocating feeling in his chest dissolve completely.

With a relaxed mood, he wanted to leave.

Originally, he knew that if he defeated the entire night patrol squad, he would become the captain of the night patrol squad, but he didn’t think it could be that simple, so he planned to straightforwardly leave.

”Wait.”

Over there, the captain who had just been knocked away by Pierz quickly stood up amid the piercing pain.

He came in front of Pierz.

”What? You’re still not convinced?”

Pierz’s confidence was extremely solid, because he knew that his master had certainly helped him with that move. With such a master who can greatly strengthen his powers, who should he fear?

Of course, if he knew that his master could only help with that one strike and now had no more strength to offer, would he lose his spirit?

Luckily, he didn’t know about this now; otherwise, losing confidence might make the night patrol team believe he had no more strength to fight and join forces again against him.

”Sir, I have no intention of fighting you again, but I want to tell you that you have already earned my position according to the regulations. Therefore...”

”If you are willing, from now on, you will be the captain of our night patrol team.”

The captain’s words left Pierz momentarily stunned.

He had earned the status of a night patrol team captain?

Although he’d known this was possible, he knew his strength was not genuinely that powerful and didn’t dare to pursue it.

Yet something he hadn’t planned to do was offered to him unprompted?

This was beyond his expectations.

While he was dumbfounded, he suddenly heard the voice of his master in his ear.

”What are you dazing for? Don’t you want to give your son and wife a better life? The opportunity is right in front of you; you better seize it tight.”

Jia Yan’s reminder prompted the tall giant to suddenly come to his senses.

Indeed, the master’s reminder was spot on. He had no place to settle in this city. He hadn’t been working these days, and the brother from whom he borrowed the house had several times, under his wife’s pressure, subtly asked when they’d move out.

After all, he couldn’t rely on his family while unemployed to support everyone; it was simply impossible.

If Pierz could obtain the captain’s position and status, it would be a leap to success, at least for him.

”I...”

He hesitated for a moment.

But unexpectedly, that captain, upon hearing this, automatically and respectfully clasped his fists.

”Lord, from now on, you are our team’s lord. Everyone’s status will move back from its original position. I will be vice-captain, and the original vice-captain will change to squad leader’s position.”

”Everyone, come greet the captain.”

The original captain shouted loudly to those around.

”Greetings to the captain.”

With the first to recognize the new captain, the surrounding members expressed no mental barriers, although they shared the same mindset as the original captain, wondering why he was so enthusiastic.

”I understand now, the original captain was troubled about the competition with the neighboring district these days.”

”That’s it, exactly what this new captain was stronger, who might indeed have some ability, well whatever, we’re defeated, so we naturally let him be our captain.”

”Having such a powerful captain is the best help for us.”

After understanding the situation, the members no longer resisted Pierz’s leadership.

”Uh, fine then. I’ll be your captain. However, I’ll need to study combat with my master regularly, might not be able to come often.”

After a moment of hesitation, Pierz revealed that he needed to study with a ’master’.

This also showed his quick wit; he immediately thought learning with Jia Yan would remain a secret so working here might make others suspicious gradually, and even if Jia Yan was hidden in his clothes, he couldn’t explain his steady power increase, could he?

Thus, it’s better to directly declare that he may not always be present, otherwise, he would rather give up the position altogether.

For he had an insightful thought; with Jia Yan’s presence, his combat power would continuously escalate, and even his current combat power was enough to serve as a common family guard; perhaps no problem with that, so why not keep growing stronger with Jia Yan?

”Haha, turns out he has a master; Pierz, sir, must be the pupil of a prestigious school, no wonder he’s so powerful. Your time issues mean nothing, don’t worry, just report daily and you can leave. For anything urgent, we’ll come to your house.”

The original captain became even more respectful upon hearing Pierz had a master.

Having a master, yet he himself was already so formidable, Pierz’s master’s strength was bound to be terrifying, maybe even an ingress stage strong one.

To have such a person as captain was genuinely welcome, summing up a massive support.

Moreover, for a person of such stature, with a great master, how long would they stay in this small night patrol team? Surely not long before leaving, wouldn’t it mean the captain’s position would be his again?

With this thought, his attitude towards Pierz became more proper.

Of course, if the captain knew, Pierz’s so-called master was hiding in his clothes and in fact, was a weak little ’bug,’ what would his expression be?

Certainly not a pleasant expression.

But now no one knew, all team members felt more respectful towards Pierz who was so powerful yet had a ’master’.

Soon, led by the original captain, Pierz slowly inspected the night patrol team’s base.

”Captain, sir, here are our documents, not many actually, please take a look.”

”No need.”

Pierz didn’t know many characters but understood, typically, night patrol teams wouldn’t have tons of documents, generally just some top-down written notices, as the night patrol team doesn’t hold major authority.

He couldn’t sit still and wanted to rush home to share the good news with his wife and son immediately.
