Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1713: Chapter 11: Is Jia Yan Just Showing Off? [Seeking Official Subscription]

Above the Stationed Troops Star, there is a place usually meant for soldiers to conduct battle rehearsals.

But today, this place has been requisitioned, and a group of soldiers have become spectators, coming here to watch the impending battle.

Jia Yan slowly entered the battle exercise field under the watchful eyes of thirty to forty thousand soldiers stationed on the star.

“Is that the ordinary creature representative of our White Seed Star this time? It actually stands on two legs, how unreasonable, it would fall over with just one hit.”

“What do you mean? I stand on two legs too, are you saying I am an unreasonable existence as well?”

When Jia Yan entered the battlefield, he immediately drew quite a bit of attention.

However, that’s about it; ordinary-level creatures, no matter how strong among ordinary creatures, won’t stir the discussions of soldiers who are at least Earth-level.

They still kept most of their gaze on creatures in the field that exceed the Earth level.

“So these are the participants?”

Jia Yan glanced at the two groups of creatures on the battlefield. The group approaching him was led by a Secondary Level leader with over a dozen creatures. Apart from one that was Secondary Level, there were also two Respect Level, seven Earth Level, and the remaining two were ordinary creatures exuding an aura similar to an Avatar.

But unlike Jia Yan, these two fellows, who look quite sturdy even under such circumstances, kept trembling uncontrollably.

“This is another ordinary-level player, much better than those two useless ones.”

The Secondary Level creature’s eyes lit up upon seeing Jia Yan being led into the arena by a soldier.

For him, the strongest participant, encountering two teammates without any battle courage was quite frustrating. Seeing Jia Yan now, his eyes naturally lit up in comparison.

However, he did not expect that Jia Yan just glanced at him and dared to ignore him, choosing to move to the forefront of everyone, staring intently at the opposing team.

“Such swagger?”

A flash of anger swept across the Secondary Level creature, but now being on the battle stage, he couldn’t erupt; his glance at Jia Yan was no longer friendly.

Unfortunately, Jia Yan completely disregarded this strong foe, not caring about his hostility.

The opposing team had similar personnel, and among them were three ordinary level creatures, seemingly the opponents for Jia Yan and his two ordinary creature teammates.

Jia Yan took a look and didn’t see anything amiss, then nodded and stood motionless with folded arms.

“What’s the origin of this guy, standing in front of a Secondary Level strong one?”

Near the battle stage, thousands of soldiers all stared in astonishment at Jia Yan. If not for the fact that Jia Yan now exuded the power of merely an ordinary level being, they would certainly have mistaken him for a Secondary Level being, overshadowing the strength of the ones behind him.

“I wonder if that presence will notice my anomaly now?”

Jia Yan raised his head, subtly glancing upwards at the sky.

From at least a few thousand kilometers away, a shadow vaguely uttered a light exclamation, but after carefully observing for a moment, fell silent again.

It’s uncertain whether he sensed something odd about Jia Yan’s Avatar or not.

“This time, our battle between the White Seed Star System and the River Dragon Star System, held under a friendly treaty, has earned the attention of both parties’ high level dignitaries, even drawing the awareness of the overlords of both sides. We hope you uphold the spirit of friendly cooperation and display the style befitting the competition. Now, the battle begins!”

A seemingly significant semi-permanent star level figure stepped onto the battlefield, announced the start of the battle, and left the platform.

It seems the tradition of delivering concise speeches pervades the entire universe.

“Now, the first battle participants, please come to the stage.”

A Secondary Level creature acting as the host came to the platform, announcing the start of the first battle.

And as he announced, a trembling ordinary creature stepped onto the stage from this side.

Fortunately, his opponent, also an ordinary-level creature, no matter how better he seemed, was not much better.

The battle between these two is visibly dull to a crowd of soldiers, their strength being weak, and both nervous, making it impossible to deliver any exciting performance.

But amidst their battle, Jia Yan watched with great interest.

For him, witnessing the battle of ordinary creatures was a long bygone experience, though such battle held no meaning for him now, it allowed him to reminisce a bit about the past.

“Really reminiscing the era when I was a Little Mosquito, and now, even flying through the universe lacks the thrilling and life-defying essence of those days…”

Jia Yan watched the fierce battle between two ordinary creatures and couldn’t help but let out a long sigh.

Indeed, for Jia Yan now, he no longer felt the same way as before, especially the thrill of life-and-death killing, which no longer stirred the same passion within him.

It’s not that he no longer faces life-and-death crises; Jia Yan knew his strength wasn’t at a level where he could ignore any crisis.

This is a mindset issue, especially after experiencing so many battles. For Jia Yan, his strength had almost reached its peak, and he had too much combat experience. Every fight was a crisis, which completely dulled his sense of danger.

“This kind of ordinary creature battle is still exciting. Unfortunately, I may never experience that feeling again in my life…” Jia Yan’s eyes showed a complex look.

The battle between the two ordinary creatures was one Jia Yan watched with great interest. Then, with a tinge of regret, he observed as his favored ordinary creature was utterly defeated under the opponent’s relentless attacks.

“Alright, thank you both for bringing us such an exciting match. Now, let’s begin the second round.”

The Secondary Level referee creature looked visibly displeased with the White Seed Star’s defeat, but despite wearing the expression, he did not show it overtly.

The next to take the stage was another ordinary-grade combat creature.

This creature also seemed very tense, but it stood over two meters tall and was extremely robust. Even when covered in blood during battle, it showed no signs of severe injury.

On the other side, although the combatant seemed experienced, the physical disparity left him completely at a disadvantage. After failing to land a kick, he was knocked down by the towering creature’s one powerful strike.

“This round goes to White Seed Star.”

The referee creature took the stage to announce the result of the battle. Though not a pretty victory, it was a win for their side, so his smile widened slightly.

“Next, let’s welcome the foreign support player invited this time by White Seed Star, Jia Yan from the Fifth Satellite University!”

“I heard this player had no defeats in the initial challenges during his university admission. I hope he will bring us an exciting match!”

Once the Secondary Level creature announced the lineup for both sides, Jia Yan walked expressionlessly toward the center of the arena.

On the other side, the opposing contender also moved briskly to the arena’s center.

“Oh? It seems to be an existence almost at Earth Level. The people from River Dragon Star System are up to some tricks again. This round might be tough.”

The Secondary Level host felt uneasy the moment he saw the contender from the River Dragon Star System.

Jia Yan also saw his opponent and was slightly astonished.

It wasn’t because of the opponent’s strength, but because Jia Yan saw that this creature was entirely made of metal.

It stood three meters tall, with a metallic sheen covering its entire body. It walked on four legs, and its outer skin looked extremely hard.

“Is it a creature from Metal Star?”

Jia Yan examined the creature and pondered over the host’s introduction of its origins, finding it fascinating.

In the Orion Arm or the Genius Battlefield areas, there were no such creatures. It was the first time he had seen a creature entirely composed of metal.

The question of whether metal can evolve and become a Starry Sky Species was something Jia Yan had pondered for a long time.

Previously, Jia Yan had never seen a similar species, so he thought it unlikely for such a species to appear in the starry sky. But this metal creature shattered his assumptions.

“It seems there are still many things I don’t understand about the universe. Even tiny differences in each region of the starry sky can create unique species. Like this metal lifeform, other creatures aren’t surprised at all, which means such creatures aren’t uncommon in this part of the starry sky. Yet, in the Orion Arm and Genius Battlefield, they have never been seen, indicating that minor differences cause species variations.”

While Jia Yan assessed his opponent, the colossal metal-like creature felt thoroughly uncomfortable being scrutinized by Jia Yan.

“Hmph, standing there without any defensive posture, are you underestimating me? Watch me take you down with one punch!”

The metal creature suddenly unleashed a fierce gale; it’s no surprise for a creature almost at Earth Level. Its attack was abrupt and combined with the inherent hardness of metal, causing a heavy hum in the air.

“This attack technique is not bad. It seems that this type of creature has a higher physical foundation level than ordinary creatures.”

Jia Yan observed the metal creature’s attack, nodding in acknowledgment.

While he stood there with both hands behind his back, unmoving under the opponent’s attack, the surrounding creatures all looked on in amazement.

“That Jia Yan seems so impressive; I thought he was something else, but now he can’t even dodge a single hit?”

“Still showing off, standing there with hands behind his back like he’s invincible. I can’t stand guys like that.”

The surrounding creatures, whether soldiers from White Seed Star or contenders from River Dragon Star System, hoping to see Jia Yan get defeated, couldn’t stand his smug demeanor.
