Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Chapter 1711: Chapter 9: Pre-Competition Test

To know that in normal circumstances, Jia Yan would not feel any sense of crisis toward a planet’s defense system.

But upon stepping onto this Stationed Troops Star, he actually felt a sense of crisis, and it wasn’t coming from the strong ones, but from the planet’s defenses themselves!

This greatly surprised Jia Yan.

“I understand now, it’s not that this planet’s defenses are particularly peculiar, but that the starfields I have experienced in the past were either too weak or focused on cultivating strong ones, none of which paid attention to real combat, so the defenses of those celestial bodies weren’t truly at a powerful level. And now I see real defense planets, especially those created at the stellar level, of course, they’re formidable…”

Jia Yan quickly analyzed the real situation.

“Fortunately, the defenses on this planet are not directed at me, but have focused most of their efforts on the other side!”

Jia Yan sensed around for a while, then felt that on this Stationed Troops Star, there was a heavily guarded area where the creatures inside were being vigilantly defended against.

Jia Yan soon realized that these were the enemies he was about to face.

In this heavily guarded area, there were more than a dozen strong entities, two of which had strength equal to the power displayed by Jia Yan’s avatar, meaning, they were also ordinary beings, seemingly the opponents his avatar would challenge this time.

“Are you the personnel coming over this time to challenge us? Move on then, you have two days of rest time. It’s best if you win; if not, you won’t survive.”

A semi-permanent star-level creature that looked like a general, after handing over with another semi-permanent star-level being who led Jia Yan over, looked at Jia Yan.

“Alright.”

Jia Yan replied neither humbly nor arrogantly, then followed a cosmic-level soldier creature to his own resting building.

“Strange, the creature sent this time is actually not from our White Seed Star’s prominent families. What species is it? I’ve never seen it before; it looks like an Elf Race yet is not quite the same…”

The semi-permanent star-level general watched Jia Yan leave and muttered with a slight frown.

However, he did not mind much, because battles not even reaching Earth Level, to them, were just a part of this mission, and if not for the arrangement of ordinary beings for this duel requirement, they wouldn’t even spare a glance at regular creatures.

In such circumstances, Jia Yan, the newly arrived ordinary being, did not attract much attention and got to his assigned room.

“This place is actually not bad.”

Jia Yan looked at his room, which was neither too luxurious nor inappropriate, obviously, this Stationed Troops Star didn’t pay much attention to him as a so-called contender.

Releasing the Brainwave Power, Jia Yan calmly observed everything on this entire planet.

“Hmm? There’s actually a radar that reacts even to stellar levels; I better be cautious.”

Jia Yan felt an extremely sharp probing radar as soon as he extended his Brainwave Power.

Fortunately, this radar wasn’t in a state of full readiness, so Jia Yan sensed its presence first and quickly suppressed his Brainwave Power, hiding even more deeply.

In this hidden state, the scope Jia Yan could explore became much smaller, but he could roughly view the situation of this Stationed Troops Star.

“This is the dock; it looks pretty good, and the size is fitting, should be enough to repair the Adisa.”

Jia Yan saw on the Stationed Troops Star there were two or three large docks, and after looking carefully, his eyes showed a hint of excitement, as these docks were sufficient for repairing the Adisa.

Next, he had to think about how to get the Adisa in for repairs. After all, as a military planet of the White Seed Star, although it’s not exactly a Dragon Den Tiger Lair, it’s close enough.

“Forget it, I’ll just see if there’s an opportunity. Normally, for a stellar-level strong figure, such places are not restrictive, and even if I have to use force, the reinforcements from White Seed Star won’t arrive too quickly, there’s enough time for the Adisa’s repair.”

Jia Yan was right in his thoughts. An enduring level strong figure is inherently against the ordinary principles and rules.

This Stationed Troops Star is strong, and there are indeed many fortifications on it, but what is formidable to others is not necessarily so for a stellar-level strong figure who breaks biological rules.

After all, stellar level, at least within this Stellar Battlefield, is still the existence of an overlord, and here almost no fortification can handle a stellar level.

“But let’s see the situation first; unless absolutely necessary, I don’t want to use such brute force tactics. In this Stellar Battlefield, exposing one’s existence still carries a certain risk.”

Jia Yan thought about his true body being injured, not fully recovered in strength, and not having comprehended the domain, making it disadvantageous when fighting with general stellar-level strong ones, so he didn’t want to escalate things unnecessarily.

After roughly scanning through the matters on this planet, Jia Yan also understood the reason for this mission.

It turned out to be about the seizure of a resource!

In this Stellar Battlefield, stellar level is the overlord everywhere, and these dominion areas have certain resources; there are many ways to seize resources, the most daring and domineering being direct combat between stellar levels.

Under ordinary circumstances, even those at the Stellar Level cherish their lives, so they prefer to use alternative methods. Such as now, by arranging duels using geniuses within their territories to determine the distribution of resources and interests.

“I didn’t expect that the strength of this avatar of mine would actually catch attention and become one of the contestants among ordinary-level creatures. Truly, I don’t know whether to laugh or cry…”

Jia Yan shook his head helplessly.

“Hmm?”

Just when Jia Yan thought he had fully explored everything about this mission, he paused slightly in surprise.

Because his avatar felt a faint brainwave power outside the Stationed Troops Star, extremely subtle, probing the interior of the Stationed Troops Star.

“Stellar Level?!”

He was suddenly shocked.

This Stellar Level brainwave power fluctuation was like the brainwave power released by Jia Yan’s avatar, carefully probing without arousing radar detection alert.

Had Jia Yan not casually surveyed the starry sky, he might have missed the brainwave power of the other party.

Of course, when Jia Yan probed, the other party seemed to have reacted to Jia Yan’s brainwave power. But when he turned back to search, he only sensed that the avatar’s brainwave power barely reached Secondary Level, and thus didn’t bother too much.

In the view of the master of this brainwave power, even if a being at Secondary Level strength detected his brainwave power, it would surely be considered an illusion due to the deeply hidden fluctuation.

But he definitely did not expect that the creature releasing the brainwave power would actually be the avatar of a Stellar Level strong one!

“Hehe, it seems this duel is not going to be that simple!”

Jia Yan retracted the brainwave power, deciding not to explore the existence of the Stellar Level further to avoid alerting him.

“To draw the probing of a Stellar Level strong one, there must be some secret here on the Stationed Troops Star. But this creature is clearly not the Overlord Level from the White Seed Star, so could the overlord from White Seed Star also appear?”

Jia Yan tried to hide his brainwave power carefully, then acted as if nothing was amiss.

Since something capable of attracting a Stellar Level presence has appeared here, Jia Yan was in no rush. It was better not to openly bring out the Adisa, especially with a Stellar Level nearby.

He decided to watch and see what unfolds!

The next day, Jia Yan was called out of his room by a Cosmic Level being.

“Today, let us see your strength. If not satisfactory, you will return from where you came.”

The Cosmic Level being led Jia Yan to a secondary high order creature.

These creatures each wore designated attire, resembling the unified attire of Earth’s military, yet due to the differing appearances of each species, the clothes displayed myriad styles, some quite amusing.

“This secondary high order creature, despite clearly resembling a snake, is wearing camouflage attire, which feels quite discordant.”

Jia Yan smiled lightly at the snake-like creature’s attire.

“You are Jia Yan, correct? We roughly understand your strength, but at such a level, it’s not sufficient. We’ve heard you have hidden capabilities. Display all your powers now. Only if you receive my approval can you join tomorrow’s mission, otherwise, you will simply return to The Fifth Star University.”

The secondary creature looked at Jia Yan’s face, seemingly attempting to suppress Jia Yan with brainwave power.

Unfortunately, Jia Yan remained unmoved, just as he had anticipated earlier. Even if he concealed his power, pretending to be oppressed by the brainwave power of a mere secondary level creature was beneath him. Especially as a Stellar Level, surrendering to suppression was too disgraceful.

However, it was obvious that the other party had no intention to harm Jia Yan. He elevated the brainwave power to a threshold generally resistible by creatures, and upon seeing Jia Yan unmoved, quickly withdrew the brainwave power.

“Very well, it seems your reputation is not unfounded.”

The snake-like creature’s eyes almost gleamed with delight.

It’s known that ordinary creatures do not possess much resistance to the brainwave power of the strong, which is the reason why ordinary creatures cannot feasibly combat Earth-class creatures.

Yet, Jia Yan’s demonstrated resistance surprised the snake-like creature since he had seen Jia Yan’s files at The Fifth Star. Although each time Jia Yan effortlessly defeated challengers, such records still left the snake-like creature skeptical of any unique aspect of this former miner.

Through this trial, satisfaction was evident.

Following a series of tests, such as reaction time and mobility abilities, the snake-like creature became increasingly satisfied.

“Jia Yan, isn’t it? You’ve earned my respect. Though currently, you remain an ordinary creature, I believe you can definitely become a strong one, equivalent to me. Return now, and tomorrow, we hope for a good performance.”
