After listening to Xi Bala’s words, Jia Yan was momentarily stunned.

This conceptual ship, whose advanced technology Jia Yan had been aware of beforehand, was now revealed to possess repairs so specialized that, according to Xi Bala, even the entire Genius Battlefield might not have the ability to fix it...

”No way. So this battleship... I can only use it as is? This will severely impact my combat power.”

Jia Yan lowered his head in contemplation.

Then, he looked up with sincerity in his gaze, addressing Xi Bala earnestly.

”Xi Bala, you’ve seen my current strength, which is still only at the Respect Level. Without this conceptual ship, my safety becomes a major concern, especially with the North Group likely still pursuing me. Can you give it some thought? Even if it’s just temporary repairs, is there any way to fix this ship?”

”Hmm, how about this: I’ll head back to the Power Headquarters and check my grandfather’s handwritten notes. Maybe I can uncover something useful,” Xi Bala thought for a long while before responding.

”Alright, I suppose that’s the best solution for now.” Jia Yan sighed helplessly, shaking his head.

The two exchanged contact methods, after which Xi Bala departed the Workshop Star with a Semi-permanent Star Level being.

Meanwhile, Jia Yan found accommodations at a Star Residence Hotel. While waiting for news, he also took the opportunity to explore the innovation of the Liqiao Forces workshop.

After all, despite Xi Bala claiming that her grandfather was the only one capable of repairing the conceptual ship, Jia Yan still wanted to try his luck and see if any other technology geniuses might be able to research and fix the ship.

The appeal of the Liqiao Force lay in its concentration of technology talents, attracting numerous tourists, most of whom were there to purchase items that enhanced their combat power.

But technological advancements were often not strictly tied to combat power.

”Huh, this item can actually simulate a subspace domain of sorts—it’s quite valuable for research.”

Jia Yan noticed a large subspace simulator being sold in one of the workshops. Though this simulator might not hold much significance for most beings, Jia Yan was different—he possessed the rare Space Talent and had reached incredibly advanced levels in the domain of subspace. As such, his interest was piqued.

”Ugh, but the price isn’t cheap. It costs 20,000 Genius Yuan...” Observing the price, Jia Yan finally understood why no one had purchased the item.

As the simulator had limited utility for those without Space Talent, raising its high price just removed any demand altogether.

”I’ll buy it!”

After deliberating for a while, Jia Yan gritted his teeth and decided to make the purchase.

Because he knew that items like these, especially within the Liqiao Forces, tended to be one-of-a-kind—products born from a random inspiration of some research genius. Once they were made, the scientist might never revisit that line of work again, turning many experimental items into isolated treasures.

No one could accurately predict just how many such items existed, but encountering the right tool could often yield tremendous results.

”You’re buying this simulator? Alright, that’ll be 20,000 Genius Yuan.”

The workshop was a smaller operation, staffed only by three monsters. Hearing Jia Yan’s decision after viewing the subspace simulator in the display window, the seller glanced at Jia Yan, who had transformed into a Metallic Monster, then nodded in acknowledgment.

After making the payment, Jia Yan overheard one of the monsters chuckling and whispering to the other two, ”That simulator we’ve been keeping for over 150 years has finally sold—we’ll have some spare cash for drinks this week.”

Jia Yan shrugged it off. As long as he thought it was worth it, that was all that mattered.

Returning to his temporary residence, Jia Yan moved the massive simulator into his room.

The towering simulator was just slightly larger than Jia Yan’s real body. After checking the accompanying instruction e-book, Jia Yan’s true form leapt out of the conceptual ship and his Mosquito body entered the subspace simulator.

The moment Jia Yan entered the simulator, its spherical surface began to warp and distort.

Feeling the unique atmosphere, Jia Yan squeezed in further.

Reaching the simulator’s center, Jia Yan sensed the surrounding spatial distortions. While the experience fell short of genuine subspace, it still carried an intriguing essence of its own.

”Still, this sensation is actually simpler, which makes understanding the fundamental constructs of subspace even easier.”

Within true subspace, Jia Yan needed to be constantly mindful of the dangers around him. But here in the simulator’s distortions, there were no safety concerns, allowing Jia Yan to focus deeply on his observations.

”Hmm... so this is what pure subspace is like. I see now.”

In this elementary simulation, Jia Yan gained insights into the underlying principles of subspace.

During his contemplation, Jia Yan faintly felt his Space Talent advancing incrementally over every moment.

Though the growth was minimal in each instant, accumulated over time, the improvement was staggering.

BANG!

Unfortunately, the good times didn’t last. After using the simulator intensely for only ten days, the entire device malfunctioned and fell apart while Jia Yan was immersed in spatial insights.

His forelegs landed amidst the countless shattered fragments, surrounded by debris scattered across the floor.

”Ah, well. It wasn’t a waste—I still gained quite a bit. The 20,000 Genius Yuan was worth it.”

Looking at the wreckage, Jia Yan shook his head in regret. The simulator clearly had a much longer expected lifespan, but Jia Yan’s intense use had broken its spatial structures—similar to a vehicle constantly subjected to extreme operating conditions. Its malfunction couldn’t be blamed on the workshop.

Still, during those ten days, Jia Yan had made significant gains, particularly in spatial comprehension. He felt that if he were to use his Space Talent in battle again, there was a good chance his combat effectiveness might double!

”Excellent. Even if the conceptual ship can’t be repaired, the improvement in my spatial abilities allows me, when merged with the conceptual ship, to just barely reach the peak level of an Intermediate Talent Semi-permanent Star being. I might even have some chances of escaping from a High-level Talent Semi-permanent Star entity...”

The spatial insights bolstered Jia Yan’s confidence in his survival capabilities—the 20,000 Genius Yuan was certainly a worthwhile investment.

Over the next few days, as Jia Yan continued waiting for Xi Bala’s news, he wandered among the workshops.

He even traveled to multiple Workshop Stars, encountering countless technologies he’d previously never imagined.

Items like machines that allowed creatures to eat their own waste and sustain energy equilibrium for tens of thousands of years. Or dolls capable of dancing for a millennium, powered solely by sunlight.

But such gadgets held no interest for Jia Yan.

Half a month passed, yet Jia Yan still garnered no significant breakthrough. It was only natural—as items that truly benefited Strong Ones were seldom easy to find.

Growing somewhat disillusioned with the Liqiao Forces and frustrated over Xi Bala’s silence, Jia Yan was just about to message her to announce his departure...

”Hmm? A transmission...” While examining an item in one of the workshops, Jia Yan suddenly received a communication.

Checking the source, it turned out to be from Xi Bala.

”Could she have uncovered something?” Jia Yan felt a surge of excitement as he answered the call.

But what caught Jia Yan completely off guard was that the moment Xi Bala’s avatar appeared, her voice erupted in panic, laden with sobs.

”Lord Jia Yan, run! Someone is coming to capture you!”

Before Jia Yan could respond, the transmission was abruptly cut off.

”Huh?” Staring at the darkened communications panel, Jia Yan froze in shock.

Soon after, he suddenly sensed an oppressive force outside the Workshop Star where he was located—a spatial crevice unfurled, and a terrifying creature slowly stepped forth from the rift.

If this had occurred under normal circumstances, it would seem wholly unremarkable. But given the current situation, it was enough to make Jia Yan’s heart pound in alarm!

The emerging creature hadn’t yet fully materialized in the starry sky, but a domineering burst of brainwave power had already spread across the area—a signal of strength that belonged to a High-level Talent Semi-permanent Star entity. The aura it exuded caused star creatures below to refrain from expressing their displeasure, knowing they were powerless to retaliate.

”This is bad. I have to escape!”

Feeling the overwhelming force, Jia Yan immediately activated his brainwave power and sought to tear open the surrounding space.

”You think you can escape into subspace right in front of me!?”

Just as Jia Yan ripped into subspace, a chilling voice rang out behind him, triggering a wave of panic.

Unknown to him, the Semi-permanent Star Genius who had opened the rift in the star above had already arrived silently at Jia Yan’s back. Though yet to fully appear in tangible space, a pair of luminous green eyes had locked onto him definitively.

Simultaneously, Jia Yan felt the spatial crevice he’d opened begin to close slowly, as if someone were suppressing his attempt to flee.

”Such terrifying space power!”

Jia Yan immediately discerned that his pursuer was also a being with Space Talent—and not just any being, but a High-level Talent Semi-permanent Star Genius specializing in spatial abilities. The opponent was custom-made to counteract him in this unbalanced situation.

BANG!

Despite the overwhelming threat, Jia Yan didn’t lose faith in his ability to escape.

He extended his Metallic Crow claws, which had transformed from the conceptual ship, and struck fiercely toward the origin of the spatial suppression behind him.

Though the pursuer sneered, preparing to use subspace talent to intercept the attack, he hadn’t anticipated Jia Yan’s claws concealing a tiny stone!

”A space stone!? No!”

At first startled by the sight of the space stone, the pursuer’s expression rapidly shifted upon realizing the stone was primed to explode, sending a wave of shock through his mind.

At this close range, shutting off the spatial crevice quickly was out of the question, and Jia Yan’s claws propelled the space stone right into the opening of the pursuer’s subspace.

BOOM!

A thunderous explosion reverberated through the workshop area, shaking hearts and minds alike.

”Damn it!”

The space monster’s voice seemed to echo from an impossibly distant dimension—likely propelled deep into subspace by the force of the detonating stone.

But as a subspace creature, and a High-level Talent Semi-permanent Star Genius at that, Jia Yan couldn’t expect the explosion to inflict serious damage.

”Escape!”

Nonetheless, the distraction granted Jia Yan the critical time needed to secure his survival.

Tearing open subspace again, Jia Yan slipped inside!
