Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Not long after, Jia Yan returned to the Jia family’s residence.

Looking down from the flying car, the entire ’Return City’ faintly displayed the demeanor of a major metropolis. It was hard to believe that this city had only been established a little more than a decade ago.

This city was specifically built to commemorate the ’Giant Mosquito’s Return.’

However, because Jia Yan later appeared, the Giant Mosquito faded into obscurity, leaving the city’s status somewhat awkward.

Fortunately, the Jia family resided in Return City, and even Jia Yan himself frequently showed up in the city. His actions displayed no dissatisfaction with the city, which allowed its citizens to breathe a slight sigh of relief.

”Return, huh?”

Jia Yan gazed at the city below, where flying cars were gradually growing in number while regular vehicles became rarer, his expression contemplative.

Arriving at the Jia family’s front gate, the flying car came to a stop.

Jia Yan stepped out from the car, onto the ground, and in the distance he could see groups of media personnel already waiting there. They respectfully greeted him while continuously taking pictures.

Jia Yan nodded politely before stepping into the Jia family’s gate.

He naturally saw no need to engage directly with the media. Such matters were not his responsibility, and these reporters didn’t even have the privilege to approach Jia Yan personally.

”Brother, you’re back. How did the talk with the envoy from the Great Empire go?”

Unexpectedly, as Jia Yan entered the courtyard, he saw his younger sister, Jia Lin, waiting by the entrance with her little daughter, Ruo, by her side.

”You really have your heart fixed on this matter, huh? Don’t worry; everything’s settled. I also gave that envoy a lesson. In the future, when he encounters you, I don’t think he’ll dare to show any disrespect.”

Jia Yan chuckled and shook his head.

It seemed Jia Lin still held some grudges.

”Hmph, I knew it—whenever you step in, there’s always a good outcome. That envoy was so arrogant! When I met him two days ago, he subtly hinted that it would be easy to eliminate us Earth people. He even looked down on you. And yet today, wasn’t he disciplined by you?”

Jia Lin grinned brightly upon hearing Jia Yan’s words.

Looking at her expression, one could easily imagine how she had been humiliated by the so-called envoy beforehand.

”Uncle Jiu, Sister said yesterday that she learned cultivation from you. Ruo wants to learn too!”

As the siblings were chatting, little Ruo, who was sucking her fingers, suddenly chimed in.

”Uh, Brother, if Ruo hadn’t mentioned it, I would have forgotten. Ruo has made progress in brainwave power recently—she’s already at the Earth Level now. You should teach her a bit.”

Upon hearing her daughter’s words, Jia Lin quickly seized the opportunity and pleaded earnestly to Jia Yan.

”Alright, later you can bring her over to my place.”

Jia Yan nodded.

In the Jia Family Mansion, several homes belonged to different family units. However, there was one set of structures built only in recent years that nobody permanently lived in. Despite this, maintenance and cleaning were impeccably done. The owner of these buildings was none other than Jia Yan himself. The houses were meticulously maintained to ensure that Jia Yan could reside there comfortably whenever he returned. The upkeep was absolutely world-class.

After bidding goodbye to his sister, Jia Yan was about to head toward his own residence when he paused mid-step.

”Sigh.”

He glanced at a small forest a few hundred meters away, where a secluded building stood. Changing direction, he began walking toward it.

That area was the residence of Jia Yan’s ”unexpected bride” and ”unexpected son.”

Dealing with the mother and child had always been a source of apprehension for Jia Yan, as he didn’t know how to navigate the situation. Even so, ignoring the issue wouldn’t make it disappear.

Moreover, after witnessing countless life-and-death scenarios and various events across the universe, Jia Yan’s ability to reconcile similar matters had considerably strengthened.

Though he couldn’t fully come to terms with the situation at this time, he was at least willing to make contact with them.

Arriving at the house, the door was already open, and a boy of eight or nine stepped out.

The child was not particularly tall, but his features faintly resembled Jia Yan’s.

This young boy was Jia Rong, who had unexpectedly become Jia Yan’s son in name.

”What are you here for?”

The boy walked out the door and asked Jia Yan with a sour expression.

At his age, Jia Rong understood much about the world. Although he no longer harbored blind hatred for Jia Yan—having learned from his mother about his origins and the circumstances between his parents—his attitude toward Jia Yan remained unyielding.

”Xiao Rong, I’m here to check on you and your mother.”

Jia Yan gazed at the boy and stated directly.

For some reason, after hearing this, Jia Rong’s lips quivered, and his eyes welled up with tears.

Despite his Sky Level Mid-stage power, his reaction still mirrored that of an ordinary child.

Seeing this, Jia Yan sighed deeply.

The child clearly bore too much emotional weight, leading to a lonely personality.

Under Jia Rong’s guidance, Jia Yan stepped inside the house.

Fortunately, the house’s furnishings were neat and orderly, suggesting the mother and son were leading reasonably good lives.

”Husband, you’ve come to visit us.”

A graceful and composed woman was seated on a sofa in the living room. Upon seeing Jia Yan, she greeted him with little expression.

As always, her demeanor was not like that of ordinary Earth people. However, from her face, Jia Yan could sense a subtle trace of happiness.

”You can call me assassin or Jia Yan.”

Jia Yan did not acknowledge the title of husband but corrected her instead.

”Alright.”

Samo Ling nodded.

”Your cultivation speed is quite impressive—you’re already at the Sky Level High-stage and nearly ready to challenge the peak.”

Jia Yan remarked at her level with some surprise.

It was worth noting that when Jia Yan first met her biological father—the Biochemical Empire Military Leader—his strength had barely reached Semi-permanent Star Level in the Orion Arm.

But now, the daughter had reached Sky Level High-stage within a few short years, which was remarkable.

”My cultivation speed is no match for yours.”

She ignored Jia Yan’s praise and slightly shifted her gaze.

Were it not for knowing that she was not of Earthly origin, Jia Yan might have been captivated by her unintentionally alluring charm.

Unfortunately, her true form was merely a white monster, while Jia Yan himself remained a mosquito monster.

”Let’s not discuss cultivation speed. I want to talk about Jia Rong. You need to address his issues. He hasn’t started attending school yet, has he? I recommend you let him go to school—to experience what it’s like to be a normal child.”

Shaking his head, Jia Yan offered his suggestion.

”No, Earth’s educational system is too inefficient. Rongrong has long since finished their university-level curriculum. If it weren’t a waste of time, I’d already have him studying higher disciplines like the Ao Si framework. What he needs now is cultivation; school will only slow down his progress.”

Her comments revealed her rational mindset, as she presented a string of reasons for not sending Jia Rong to school.

”You’re wrong. I’m not talking about academics or cultivation—I’m talking about his childhood.”

Jia Yan shook his head again. He genuinely understood her perspective, given her origin was not Earth. Despite watching Earthling entertainment programs frequently, that didn’t mean she could readily accept Earth’s ideals.

”Rongrong is still young. If you don’t let him experience a normal child’s life now, he’ll regret it in the future.”

Jia Yan locked eyes with her as he spoke.

Under his gaze, a faint trace of redness blossomed on Samo Ling’s flawless face—so subtly that it was barely noticeable.

”Alright, I’ll let him attend school.”

Turning her head away from Jia Yan, she reluctantly agreed.

At that moment, Jia Yan distinctly noticed a change in Jia Rong’s expression—an apparent trace of happiness.

Even more evident was that Jia Rong’s attitude toward Jia Yan had shifted. During their subsequent conversations, he displayed less resistance and spoke more engagingly.

”Alright, I’m heading back now. I’ll visit again when I get the chance.”

Time passed slowly; Jia Yan observed the setting sun and finally stood, bidding farewell as he walked toward the door.

”Dad...”

As Jia Yan took a few steps, he suddenly heard an awkward call from behind.

Turning back in surprise, he saw the boy’s face beet red. This marked the first time Jia Rong had voluntarily called him ”dad” today.

”Take care on your way.”

Jia Rong awkwardly spoke, then buried his head deep into the sofa cushion, refusing to emerge.

”Alright, Xiao Rong. Goodbye.”

For some reason, Jia Yan felt his mood lift slightly, even though he hadn’t fully accepted this ready-made wife and child.

Walking out from Samo Ling and Jia Rong’s residence, Jia Yan raised his head to gaze at the sky, where the luminous Moon slowly ascended.

The Moon was no longer the same as decades ago. Even from Earth, its pitch-black crescent areas now displayed faint specks of light—city lights flickering.

Truthfully, each time Jia Yan returned to Earth, he felt a distinct set of emotions. This time was no exception.

”What exactly is family?”

Jia Yan shook his head and murmured.

Then, he let out a helpless smirk. What had originally been straightforward family relationships had become exceedingly complex for him.

In the Jia family, his parents, sister, and others bore no blood ties with him, strictly speaking. On the contrary, the child he refused to acknowledge, Jia Rong, was biologically connected to him through his true body. In that sense, his closest family member here should be Jia Rong.

Yet, their actual relationship remained strained, and Jia Yan couldn’t accept the father-and-son bond in his heart.

Internally, his emotions were as mixed as a tossed salad—all flavors combined.

”Sigh, what a mess.”

Jia Yan sighed and shook his head, heading back to his residence.

In truth, he had initially come to ask Samo Ling about specific details regarding the Biochemical Empire, but the atmosphere swept him away, leaving his questions unspoken.

Thankfully, there was still time. If not today, he could ask tomorrow.

Oddly enough, Jia Yan found himself gradually shedding resistance toward meeting this mother-and-son pair.

As Jia Yan entered his residence, two pairs of eyes at Samo Ling’s house silently followed his departure, not breaking away for a long time.

Even throughout the Jia family, his actions this time surprised many—particularly the nosy servants who secretly gossiped.

However, such gossip ran only within the Jia household. When considering the broader topic of Jia Yan among Earth’s human species, the focal point was far removed from minor changes within the family compound.
