Chapter 429: Chapter 253 My Girlfriend is Su Yu Chapter 429: Chapter 253 My Girlfriend is Su Yu On the bus of route 101.

Yao Lingling was sitting near the back door, staring out the window in a daze.

She was still clutching two large shopping bags and wearing a backpack.

Her home was just around Yan City, and she could reach it with two bus transfers.

However, because the location was so remote, it took a long time to get to the Yuhua Business Building, where Shangya Clothing was located.

Therefore, she and her roommate rented a place at Star Garden Community.

Ever since Zhang Jiahong moved out some time ago, she had contacted a few alumni, and two were indeed interested, but their rent contracts had not yet expired.

They could probably decide whether to move over only next month.

Hearing the announcement of the stops from the bus’s speaker, Yao Lingling quickly snapped back to the present and hurried to the door.

Suddenly, the bus arrived at the stop, and the doors opened.

Yao Lingling stepped off the bus, carrying all her bags.

“Phew~” The wave of heat hit her face, and a fine layer of sweat instantly appeared on her forehead.

It was over 30 degrees, yet cloudy, hot, and stuffy—quite unbearable.

Putting the bags down, Yao Lingling took out her phone from her jeans pocket to check the time.

Considering it wasn’t rush hour, she had to wait another 15 minutes for the 39 bus she needed to transfer to.

Then she saw a WeChat message from Li Shumin, asking how much longer she would be.

Yao Lingling estimated the time and replied with a few messages.

After thinking for a bit, she also opened up Tang Song’s chat and left a message, “Senior, I’ll probably be at Star Garden Community in about 50 minutes. I brought some tasty treats from home, welcome to come over early to enjoy them.”

After sending the message, she smiled and patted a white bag at her feet.

Her family ran a tailor shop, and this time she had brought back some sample clothes and fabrics to make a couple more sets for Tang Song.

For sportswear that often gets sweaty from running, it’s always better to have spares.

This was also a little surprise, because after all, Senior Tang had been so kind to her, and it only felt right to offer something in return.

While waiting for the bus, she listened to the surrounding chatter.

Her gaze swept around, and she couldn’t help but remark, “Su Yu is really coming.”

Bus stop signs, 3D big screens, LED billboards, the print T-shirts on passersby…

In recent days, everywhere you walked in Yan City, you could see all sorts of promotions about her.

…

She took the bus and arrived smoothly at Star Garden Community.

Just as she reached Building 8, she saw a familiar figure stepping out from under the shade of the trees.

Wearing a trendy casual outfit, Xiao Mingxuan approached with one hand in his pocket and a broad smile, “Hello Lingling, what a coincidence, didn’t expect to bump into you here.”

“Pfft—” Yao Lingling couldn’t help but laugh, her eyes smiling as she said, “Tell me, this is right below my house, what kind of coincidence is this? Spill the beans! Did Minmin tell you?”

“You’re really not the least bit funny,” Xiao Mingxuan shook his head, reaching out his hand and saying, “I know you have a lot to carry, and Minmin was worried you couldn’t handle it, so she sent me down to help.”

“Alright, thanks then,” Yao Lingling handed over a bag full of fresh and cooked food she had brought from home.

She wasn’t particularly surprised to see Xiao Mingxuan here.

Lately, under Li Shumin’s deliberate ingratiation, their relationship had indeed become close.

They would occasionally play games and eat out together.

It must be said, this colleague was truly decent.

Even though he was the boss’s son, he was always affable at work and in communication, almost like a friend.

The two of them chatted as they went up to the fifth floor.

Upon opening the door to Room 501, they saw Li Shumin quickly running over.

“Ah, Lingling, you’re finally back! It’s been two days! A whole two days! I was so scared being by myself at night I couldn’t even sleep well!”

With a radiant smile, Xiao Mingxuan said, “Ah, Minmin, why didn’t you tell me earlier, I could have come over to keep you company! We could have played some passionate duo matches in the evening!”

Li Shumin’s face turned beet red, and she stammered, unable to speak.

She actually had a crush on the company owner’s son.

However, knowing her own circumstances, being neither particularly attractive nor standout, she dared not to express her feelings.

The three of them sat on the couch and chatted for a while.

Xiao Mingxuan, eating an apple passed to him by Li Shumin, said with a grin, “Lingling, actually, I came here today because there’s something I want to discuss with you.”

“What’s that?” Yao Lingling looked over, curious.

“Ta-da~” Xiao Mingxuan snapped his fingers, leaned forward slightly, and said with intense eyes, “Over the weekend, my dad and I had a good talk. The company is planning to launch a new division to re-operate a clothing brand. I’ve been in the company for a while now, and I’ve been doing pretty well, so my dad wants me to take this on…”

He then started to outline the corporate plans.

Shangya Clothing had operated middle to lower-end brands up to now.

If the company wanted to continue developing, it needed to make a breakthrough.

The new brand would be positioned at the “high-end women’s clothing” segment.

Gathering the company’s most talented designers and recruiting an industry big shot to lead, the design team would be in charge. They weren’t going to chase large-scale production and cost control but focus on creativity and quality, adopting unique, innovative, and personalized design concepts and styles.

Marketing through online media, they planned to gradually create a high-end strategic brand for Shangya.

After explaining all this, Xiao Mingxuan asked confidently, “What do you think, Lingling? Want to consider it? It’s a very good opportunity.”

At his side, Li Shumin was thrilled, wishing she could agree on the spot.

However, she was just an assistant with no particular achievements; President Xiao wouldn’t be interested in her.

Yao Lingling bowed her head in thought for a moment, then bit her lip and shook her head, “Sorry Mingxuan, I don’t think I’m at that level yet. If I jumped straight in, I would surely be the talk of the town, and it would affect both your and the company’s reputation.”
