Chapter 402: Chapter 244 Classmates Reunion, Calm and Relaxed_2 Chapter 402: Chapter 244 Classmates Reunion, Calm and Relaxed_2 [Senior Assistant to the Committee]

Stepping on the soft and comfortable sound-absorbing carpet and looking at the private office in front of her, Lin Muxue’s heart surged with excitement.

Gripping the chilly doorknob, she gently pushed open the door.

Inside the bright and soft office were a smooth, mirror-like solid wood desk, a comfortable armchair, a small coffee table, and vibrant green plants…

Lin Muxue stepped forward and sat down, her excitement making her spin around in the chair.

The company’s HR had said that they would take her measurements in the afternoon and, according to her specifications, tailor an ergonomic chair for her.

The material, appearance, and pattern were all for her to choose.

Touching the blue and white work badge around her neck, Lin Muxue lifted it gently and looked at it once more.

At the top was the ID photo she had carefully chosen.

Below it was her job information.

Employee Name: Luna (Lin Muxue)

Position: Senior Assistant to the Committee

Employee Number: 00227

…

Slover (HK) Trust

This was a standard foreign enterprise and, since the headquarters was an offshore trust company, many aspects of the company were in English, such as work documents and materials.

Lin Muxue felt increasingly inadequate and constrained.

She also worried about losing this precious job opportunity.

Even though she studied “Flight attendant” as her major and English was a required course,

she wasn’t very fond of studying, and coupled with the mediocre level of her school, her spoken English was particularly bad.

After thinking it over, Lin Muxue sent a somewhat nervous message to the Human Resources Director: “June, this is my first time working in a foreign enterprise. I would like to systematically study English. Could you arrange some training for me?”

A moment later, a message popped up.

[June: “OK, we have a cooperative training institution. I’ll contact them later for you. We have a separate training room within the company, so you won’t need to go to the institution for classes.”]

Seeing the reply, Lin Muxue’s face broke into an instant smile.

As the Senior Assistant to the Committee, she had many privileged benefits.

For example, she could have all her taxi fares fully reimbursed.

If it was for business travel, she could also enjoy business class flights and superior hotel accommodations.

Having worked as an administrator at Rongxin Venture Capital for a year, she fully understood what these benefits meant.

Within the company, her level of benefits was likely on par with the executives.

With this in mind, Lin Muxue blushed slightly.

Opening WeChat, she messaged Tang Song: “President Tang, I have successfully joined the company. I’m currently working in a partition of the director’s office. My colleagues are very kind, and I am enjoying our time together. I love my current job!”

“Buzz buzz buzz—”

[Tang Song: “I’ve heard about it from President Zhang. Go for it, Xue. By the way, I have some materials from a media company here. Could you pass them on to the Risk Control Group in the Investment Strategy Department of the company and have them check for any issues?”]

Seeing Tang Song’s message, Lin Muxue’s brows flew up in joy.

She quickly replied, “Received, I’ll arrange it now!”

This was a task personally assigned by the boss, which made it the company’s top priority.

She didn’t really have much ambition; she felt that the way things were was quite good enough, and she wasn’t aiming for a high position in the company.

Her only worry was that her academic qualifications and skills were not very strong, and she feared that her colleagues might look down on her, which made her feel apprehensive.

Now that Tang Song had given her coordinating tasks, she could use this opportunity to quickly integrate into the company and earn the respect of her peers.

“Ding dong—”

High school classmates’ WeChat group.

[He Xiaohui: “@Lin Muxue, we’ve arrived in Yan City. Li Da specifically took time off to pick us up.”]

[He Xiaohui: Group photo.jpg]

Lin Muxue clicked on the photo to take a look. It was a group photo of three people at the train station exit.

In the photo, He Xiaohui was smiling particularly brightly.

[He Xiaohui: “I know you’re busy with your finance job, so let’s meet up at the restaurant next to your company this evening. Wenqiong will be there too; it won’t take up much of your time. You won’t refuse this time, will you?”]

[Chen Siyue: “When we meet up, I’ll go live. The audience is super interested in you, Xue. You are the classmate who has changed the most.”]

The rest of the group started to chime in, egging her on.

Lin Muxue scrolled up to see that in just two hours, there were hundreds of unread messages.

Chen Siyue’s “Classmate Mystery Box” had managed to reconnect this group of old classmates.

It also rekindled everyone’s memories of high school.

Lin Muxue smiled and calmly replied, “Okay.”

…

Yan City Train Station.

“Wow, Xue finally sent over the company address!” Chen Siyue exclaimed as she checked the map, “It’s in the CY Building, Huaxin District.”

Li Da searched for “CY Building” and said with an excited smile, “It’s not too far from our company, pretty good.”

He Xiaohui said cheerfully, “When I see Xue, I want to ride in her Porsche 718.”

On Lin Muxue’s TikTok account, her white 718 appeared the most, often uploading videos and photos of it.

While talking, the three of them made their way to the underground parking lot.

Li Da took out the car key from his pocket and pressed it.

Looking at the black Buick GL8 flashing its lights in front of him, He Xiaohui asked in surprise, “Li Da, is this your car?”

Li Da smiled proudly, “It’s the company’s reception car, but I’m more or less a manager now, plus I have a good relationship with the leadership, so I usually just take it as I please. Next time I go to Muxue’s place to shoot a video, I’ll get you guys a Mercedes-Benz E to drive.”

As a relatively insignificant quality control manager in a branch office, getting to drive the company’s business car was quite a commitment for him.

But he couldn’t resist boasting, meeting up with two pretty high school female classmates.

“Amazing, Li Da!”

Chen Siyue patted his arm, “When you bring out the Mercedes, I’ll seriously shoot a segment for you, edit it into the Classmate Mystery Box video, and highlight your young and successful image!”
