Chapter 422: Chapter 250 Su Yu, Wen Ruan_4 Chapter 422: Chapter 250 Su Yu, Wen Ruan_4 In recent days her experiences, especially having played basketball with an attractive man like Tang Song, had significantly changed her way of thinking and her perspectives.

Her old high school classmates could hardly give her much pleasure of showing them up anymore.

Lin Muxue clearly knew she had leveled up!

It was time to aim for higher goals!

…

In the West Bridge District, at Huaxiang Restaurant.

The table was laid with an array of exquisite dishes, and the air was filled with soft music.

Zhao Mingying, looking at Wen Ruan across the table, couldn’t help but express, “You made the right decision coming back to Yan City, you look much better than before, that’s great!”

Wen Ruan smiled, “You haven’t changed much, except you’ve lost some hair.”

Zhao Mingying subconsciously touched his smooth forehead and shook his head self-deprecatingly, “Living in the Imperial City is tough.

I have a wife and kids to support, and a mortgage to pay, and I am over 35 years old.

It really feels like I’m debuffed fully, being cautious in every aspect, afraid of giving the company a reason to lay me off.

Now I stay late till 9 PM every day, leading the planning projects, losing clumps of hair.”

“It’s okay, Star Cloud International is backed by Tangzong Entertainment and is continuously expanding. I think you still have a chance to move up.”

Zhao Mingying looked at her and said, “Actually, I think it’s a pity about you. Your education, quality, and capabilities are all top-notch. If it weren’t for that messed-up situation, you could be at least a middle manager in the corporation by now.”

Eight years ago, when Wen Ruan first joined Star Cloud International, she was in the same department as him.

Zhao Mingying had a vivid impression of the vibrant and upward-bound young Wen Ruan then.

He also felt regret for the misfortunes she had encountered.

“Heh,” Wen Ruan laughed nonchalantly, “talking about this now is useless. I’m doing very well in Yan City, my job is relaxing and stable, I’m close to home, and I have… some fun friends.”

During those years in the Imperial City, she had been truly devoted to her career, eager to establish herself in this global metropolis.

In the previous years, she learned hard and worked tirelessly, gradually achieving performance goals and finally got a chance for promotion.

But it was all ruined by a scandal fabricated by a colleague.

After struggling miserably for another half a year with no hope in sight, she despondently went back to Yan City.

Summing up her five years in the Imperial City, she described it as a mess.

The only upside was that through Star Cloud International’s platform, she had made quite a few friends in the media industry.

Her current side job was supplying articles to these media friends and dabbling in advertising, bringing in a significant income.

This was also why she often traveled to other cities, to take in the sights and maintain these relationships.

Overall, life was much more comfortable compared to the Imperial City.

Plus, if she ever got laid off and couldn’t find a job because of her age, she could leverage these contacts to set up a studio and be a media intermediary.

That’s actually what a media company does.

It was also the backup plan she had prepared for herself.

“Actually, I have another reason for seeing you today,”

Zhao Mingying paused, then added, “Star Cloud International is planning to set up a branch in Yan City, and the plans are already in motion. The person in charge is President Ji from the group. I joined the company with her and can just manage to talk to her. A few days ago, she visited our department and mentioned you; I think she has a good impression of you. If you’re considering returning to Star Cloud, I can put in a word for you, and there’s a good chance it could work.”

Wen Ruan raised her eyebrows, surprised, “The Vice President of Media Operations, Ji Qiuyu?”

“Yes, that’s her! I think it’s a great opportunity. It allows you to work in Yan City and possibly gain President Ji’s appreciation and get back on your career track.”

“I’ll think about it. I have a business trip to the Imperial City next week, and then there’s Simin’s wedding.”

Wen Ruan took a long breath, her previously calm heart stirred up once again.
