“Yanyan, why do you have to go on a business trip again? You just came back from Imperial City a week ago, and now I’ll have trouble sleeping alone at night again.” Xu Qing spoke with her mouth full of ribs, her little mouth greasy.

“This time I’m going out to look at stores in two neighboring cities, to prepare for the expansion of future branches. Don’t worry, I’ll definitely be back on Tuesday night to watch the concert,” Shen Yuyan tapped her head with chopsticks and said seriously, “Qingqing, you’re starting your new job at Mortals Media next week; you should focus more on your new company’s work recently. It’s best to check with Liyuan beforehand to get an overview of the job.”

“Got it, got it,” Xu Qing nodded, her little bottom swaying, “Wait till my payment for this month’s manuscript is out, and by then your company will have almost secured the financing. Let’s go on a trip, shall we?”

“Oh? Sounds good, where to?” Shen Yuyan immediately perked up. Since she started her business, they had rarely traveled out of town.

Unlike their college days when they would hop on a train and travel wherever they could at the drop of a hat.

While eating, Xu Qing mumbled a long list of place names.

Shen Yuyan joked with a laugh, “Why not invite Tang Song along too?”

“That…that might not be a good idea?” Xu Qing’s cheeks turned a bit red, “It’s always been just the two of us. Having a third person, and a guy at that, feels weird.”

Shen Yuyan pinched her face, “You make it sound like the two of us are some kind of item.”

“Hehe, if it were you, Yanyan, I wouldn’t mind at all.”

The two friends teased each other for a while and then continued to focus on their meal.

The phone on the table lit up occasionally, and Shen Yuyan picked it up to look.

Her expression was somewhat complex.

In the small WeChat group she was managing, Tang Song was having a lively chat with Guo Liyuan.

The two talked from media culture to short dramas, and then from short dramas to the first- and second-tier investment markets.

It was clear that Tang Song was really invested in this and pushing forward with all his might.

In contrast, her side’s investors, Win-win Technology, seemed a bit aloof.

Of course, the strategy investment team led by Ren Mingyuan was made up of individuals with impressive backgrounds.

Particularly the director, Li Tianming, a Tsinghua master’s graduate in finance, had worked in a renowned investment bank for 8 years and led many large-scale mergers and investment projects.

The backgrounds of the other employees were not simple either, whether as analysts at consulting firms or senior auditors at accounting firms.

Such a professional team indeed warranted an air of aloofness.

After pondering for a while, Shen Yuyan suddenly said, “Qingqing, Liyuan and Tang Song are quite active in chatting in the group. You should participate more too, and not just always send silly emojis. If you don’t get involved in the company’s operational details, even if you later receive stock options and become a shareholder, it will be hard for you to truly be a manager.”

“Ah, me?” Xu Qing blinked her dark, shiny eyes excitedly, “Can I also become a company shareholder?”

Although her novel’s protagonist is impressive, Ms. Xu Qing in real life is still just an ordinary worker.

Shen Yuyan nodded and smiled, “Yes, although you are quite sloppy, who made you have such a good best friend? I’ve privately discussed this with Liyuan, and if they can smoothly secure their Series A funding, they plan to give you some stock options as incentive.”

Her best friend was a bit of a goof, but she wasn’t as naive as the other party.

Tang Song, an investor, was mainly convinced by Qingqing.

With company financing being so tough nowadays, Xu Qing had gone through a lot of effort to network and set up connections.

If Mortals didn’t show some appreciation, they’d be treating her like a fool.

She was very optimistic about the market for short dramas and also had high hopes for the future of Mortals Media.

She hoped her best friend could take this opportunity to achieve a degree of financial independence.

“Stock options!” Xu Qing’s eyes sparkled with excitement, not caring about her delicious ribs anymore, “Thank you, dear beautiful Yanyan!”

After saying this, Xu Qing walked around to the opposite side of the dining table and planted a kiss on Shen Yuyan’s cheek with a “smack~”

“Xu Qing, aren’t you dirty? You’ve got my face all greasy!”

“Hehe, no worries, I’ll wipe it off for you. Ah! Scheming, you’re grabbing my chest again! You’ve dirtied my clothes!”

“Humph, a small B-cup, laughable.”

“Evil! I’m younger than you, I’ll definitely surpass you in two years!”

“But I was the C-cup queen at 18.”

Amidst laughter and playfulness, they finally finished their meal.

1:30 PM.

Shen Yuyan, having packed up, walked out with her suitcase.

As she pushed open the door, she turned back to Xu Qing, who was eating a peach, and warned, “Don’t comfort yourself too often when I’m not around; it’s not good for your health.”

After saying that, she immediately closed the door and ran off with a “dada da.”

Xu Qing shouted in annoyed embarrassment, her cheeks both red and hot.

Last time she wrote a risqué fanfic about Xu Yanqing and Tang Song, it had caused quite a stir in the fan group.

She couldn’t resist doing it again, which made her feel awkward while chatting with Tang Song these past few days.

As she was lost in thought, the notification sound for WeChat rang from her phone.

She looked at it, her mouth slightly agape.

[Jing: “Qingqing sis, I’m currently on a date with my boyfriend, and I smacked his butt when he wasn’t looking. He ended up pinning me over his knee and gave me a couple of spanks, felt so good. He doesn’t seem to mind, and this method really works. I’m planning to give his chest a tap later; wonder if he’ll reciprocate, so excited!”]
