Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3428 Refusal To Come

Zanqua made a swift decision to escape.

However, her wrist was suddenly caught, and immense suppression crashed down on her as a wave of strange energy covered her.

She was shocked to see that all her pores were blocked and her meridians closed off, barely open, which didnʼt allow her to circulate her energy. She couldnʼt muster any energy, making her feel like she was a mortal. Even the memories of when she was helplessly kidnapped flashed past her eyes.

”You-! Let go!”

Zanqua roared, but she turned back, threw herself to him, and opened her mouth, revealing sharp canines that could make mincemeat out of even Immortal Emperor Grade meat. They were sharp as a peak Low-Level Immortal Emperor Grade Armament.

Davis used his other hand to block as he didnʼt expect such a reaction. His reaction was delayed, causing her to bite down on his arm successfully. Sadly though, her canines shattered as what she bit down was no different than steel to her.

Zanqua turned shocked, unable to believe the prowess of his physical body.

But she was a fey. She grew new canines in a few seconds and continued biting down like a rabid wolf, refusing to let go.

However, she panicked as she was being carried away like that.

The Emperor of Death didnʼt even seem to mind as he wrapped his arm, which was still holding her wrist, over her waist before they flew out. He even carried her broadsword along with her through his soul force as though it didnʼt weigh anything.

”Hey!”

Zanqua realized that she was helpless beyond compare with no means of breaking out and growled at him, her eyes full of panic.

”Let me go…”

This time, her voice was laden with fear, as though what he was going to do to her was worse than death.

”Please… no…”

Her voice turned imploring, causing Davis to stop at a mountain peak. He inclined his head down to look at her, gazing at her teary eye.

”I beg you… I am… ashamed to meet them…”

”…”

Davis opened his mouth and heaved a heavy sigh. He dropped her on the rocky surface above the peak and watched her tremble. It was imaginable how much guilt she felt towards her actions even though she probably didnʼt regret her actions, but she grew as a bandit and was forced to plunder before accepting it. That was how most bandits were created because they didnʼt have anything else to rely on other than plunder.

It wasnʼt anything special as it was a common story for those who lost their homes.

”Then why did you show up at the Central Primesky Alliance Meet back then?”

”…!”

Zanquaʼs trembling stopped as her right eye shot wide. She raised her head to see him descending and standing before her like he knew everything about her.

Davis saw her reaction and pursed his lips, ”So you were indeed there.”

When Panqa and Lanqua revealed that they had a third sister, he didnʼt bother much since they werenʼt important to him, but he had some free time, so he decided to check whether their third sister was alive through his karmic powers.

It turned out that she was alive.

The karmic thread extended to some distance away, but as time passed, the thread entered the void, which meant their third sister was moving away from them and gained a large enough distance.

This made him understand that she was near at one point during the Central Primesky Alliance Meet.

If he had to think, it was when he chose to play Saint Mo Tian for the first time, healing those who were poisoned by assassins. At that time, it wouldnʼt be strange for Zanqua to have infiltrated the scene, but after those assassins attacked, she probably left before she could get caught.

He imagined Zanqua probably got to see Panqa and Lanqua while they were happily helping him move patients at that time, so she had been content with it.

At that time, Panqa and Lanqua werenʼt that important to him, so he didnʼt bother. After that ridiculous night, he was filled with wrath against the one who stole his seed and was later busy, so he never got to investigate it. It wasnʼt even on his mind as he was still confused about Panqa and Lanqua.

”You saw that your two sisters were unlike you. They were cheerful, innocent, and full of fairness. You feared that they wouldnʼt accept you for your wicked deeds, so you didnʼt dare to make contact… They even found a Saint who might love them, so you didnʼt want your presence known as that would ruin their lives, but you were later worried they were married to a fiend like me but after investigating with your own methods, learned that they were probably in good hands and hence, possess respect towards me. Am I wrong?”

Davis spoke before he inclined his head.

She didnʼt answer, but her trembling expression revealed that he was right.

He knew she didnʼt regret her actions as she had to do what she had to do to survive. But she feared seeing the disgusted expressions of the sisters she loved. He didnʼt even need to use Heart Intent to know that.

Davis turned to look around. It was already night, so he raised his head to look at the moon, appearing unguarded.

”Panqa and Lanqua are lovely. The latter is smart like you but lacks the experience required to be ruthless, while the other refuses to use her brain but is strangely sharp when it comes to instincts. Iʼm sure you could imagine what Iʼm talking about…”

”…”

Zanquaʼs gaze shook. She had only seen them one time, but even then, she could imagine what they were like. Tears welled up in her right eye before she closed it, refusing to let it fall.

”Canʼt imagine? Well, you are bigger than Lanqua, but Panqa has beaten you by a great margin.”

”You!”

Zanqua subconsciously hid her bosoms as she raised her head and saw him staring at her with his side eye and a sleazy look.

She clenched her teeth, ”I was wrong about you! You are definitely not a good husband for them as youʼre full of wicked thoughts.”

Davis chuckled, ”Then come decide that for yourself.”

”Heh! No, thank you. You can tell them I died somewhere.”

”Canʼt do. I already told them that their third sister is on their way.”

”You-!” Zanquaʼs expression sank.

”You can imagine them, but donʼt you think theyʼre also longing to meet you— imagine what you are like? Even though they were little, they still feel guilt for allowing you to be kidnapped. As cultivators, childhood memories are as clear as day and tragic memories, even more so that theyʼre basically nightmares. Are you going to not relieve them of their guilt?”

”…”

Zanquaʼs lips quivered as she felt her heart resonating with his words. She bit her lips, unable to stop her tear as it slid down her face. She was still haunted by that day. How she wished that day had gone differently. It was also the day they lost their father and mother to bandits.

”Theyʼre fools and naive… if they know how I turned out… theyʼre only going to feel more guilt…”

”Thatʼs not the case-”

”How can I relieve them of guilt if they see this scarred appearance of mine!?”

Zanqua roared as she removed her left eye patch and revealed an eyeless socket.

”…”

Davis felt like he had stepped on a landmine as he blinked at her wretched appearance. He turned speechless as he was unable to retort her words. He also felt like Panqa and Lanqua would feel more guilt if they saw her like this.

Nonetheless, he realized it was a bad habit of his when acting like he knew everything. His intent wasnʼt to hurt her but to get an emotional reaction that would lead her to see them, but it seems like he only made her determination not to see them rise.

He considered healing her, but that would only offend her more as that would appear insensitive to how she lived her life. He imagined she would even say that she deserved all this since she did bad things, considering she never bothered to appear pretty.

”Fine, have it your way.”

Davis gave up and reached out his hand. He had made a promise to Panqa and Lanqua, and he was going to fulfill it.

”Wait…! Let me… at least… put on some makeup…”

Zanqua raised her left hand and used her other hand to rub her teary right eye. She felt like she looked miserable after shedding tears for the first time after how many years.

”…” Davis blinked, ”Do you even know how to put on one?”

”… Iʼll fucking kill you...!”

”…”

Davis could only shrug at words that were said with killing intent. It seemed that Zanqua still had feminine emotions inside her despite how wild and aggressive she acted.

Nonetheless, he relaxed since she indirectly consented to leave with him. He guessed that she mustʼve realized that there was no escaping from him.

After some time, Zanqua only made herself look worse with makeup, so she angrily washed herself up and went with him but not so obediently as she still seemed hesitant most of the time, stalling for time as she said that she needed to buy gifts and do other things as she was going to meet them for the first time.

He had never seen such a tame female bandit that he almost rolled his eyes. Tired of her tricks, Davis took out a flying boat and traveled fast.

It was a good thing he had many flying boats and disposable, low-grade spatial rings that he could send with his soul body on a suicide mission if it needed to.

Nonetheless, they quickly arrived at his new home. As they descended, Zanqua abruptly jumped off from the deck and shot away at the last second.

Davis raised his hand and waved his finger, merely using his soul force to capture her and bring her back.

”Youʼre here already, so give up.”

Zanqua tried to struggle out of his binds even though she knew it was useless. She glared at him hatefully, not knowing how an overpowered Immortal King like him who could easily play with Immortal Emperors could exist. Turning to look at the mansion that was becoming bigger and nearing her, her gaze shook.

But her gaze froze when she saw her two sisters standing on the balcony, looking shocked, just like her!
