Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3399 Void Dust Treeʼs Cultivation

Davis was awestruck as he watched such a tall tree.

He was no stranger to tall trees and had seen trees that were hundreds of meters tall. Their massive appearances even made homes for giant magical beasts. He had even seen a thousand-meter-tall tree with sakura blossoms that appeared to be a pleasant vacation or dating spot.

However, the tree behind Stella was nine thousand meters tall. He had to raise his head all the way up to witness its magnificence. Combined with the starry atmosphere above that caused a glorious halo to form on top of the tree crown as though the cosmos was nearer than ever, he was simply awestruck.

Words couldnʼt describe this feeling. He felt like he had arrived at the end of his story or something.

”If you stare at me that intensely, I will have no choice but to feel embarrassed.”

Fairy Wix appeared beside him from nowhere, startling Davis.

He turned to look at her buxom figure that would make any man swoon. He imagined that she had the same face as Stella behind her veil, but her noble appearance was something that little tree wouldnʼt be able to copy anytime soon.

Nonetheless, feeling the gentleness in Fairy Wixʼs voice, Davis cupped his hands.

”Thanks for inviting me. I have come to pick up Stella to deal with the Voidslime Realm Eater according to your wishes, but it seems like it is going to take some more time…”

Davis wryly smiled as he glanced at Stellaʼs true body.

Her true body was only four hundred meters tall. He could sense she had entered Mid Stage Immortal Emperor, so every hundred meters could indicate her cultivation level in the Immortal Emperor Stage. With four hundred meters pointing towards Level Four Immortal Emperor Stage, he guessed that she hadnʼt reached Level Five Immortal Emperor Stage.

That would mean a tough or hopeless battle against the Voidslime Realm Eater for Stella.

”Indeed. As a Void Dust Tree, I can only lament that our cultivation takes years and years of patience to move forward. It took hundreds and thousands of years for us to mature into the Immortal Stage in body and soul, which during that time, it is of the utmost importance to take it slow so that it doesnʼt affect our potential.”

Fairy Wix shared her sentiments, ”Once she reached the Immortal Stage, I had her path prepared, so she was able to quickly become an Immortal Emperor.”

”It was fated that she would spend the next ten thousand years slowly improving to the peak until I found the Voidslime Realm Eater. However, Stellaʼs cultivation was abnormally fast thanks to you gifting a High-Level Immortal Emperor Grade Space Essence Orb. With that, you have helped her decrease her cultivation time by many times in the Immortal Emperor Stage. But now, sheʼs overdrafting her potential by sacrificing her core essence and absorbing too many nutrients from the void dust soil to boost her cultivation. That would affect her future cultivation, but she seems to have faith in you.”

”How are you going to explain this to me?”

She turned to look at Davis as her voice turned solemn at the end, causing him to blink innocently.

”I swear I didnʼt seduce your daughter or something.”

Davis raised his hands in surrender, his lips curling into a wry smile, ”We came to an agreement where we could hunt the Voidslime Realm Eater after it entered the Late Immortal Emperor Stage, so she needs to be at an appropriate level to hunt it. Isnʼt that what you wanted, Fairy Wix?”

Fairy Wix nodded, ”But this was not a part of my plan. You are taking advantage of her kindness to treat your people to the spatial runes of the Voidslime Realm Eater. Am I wrong?”

”You are not wrong.”

Davis didnʼt deny, ”But Stella is indeed kind. When I said I wanted my people to comprehend Space Laws, she said we shouldʼve come earlier to gain more benefits. That alone is more than enough for my people to treat her with care, even if not for me. At the same time, sheʼs the same innocent tree from the Void Dust Secret Realm. Just like I treat everyone else in my family, I also need her Will to be tempered, and the only way for her to acquire that is through experiencing pain and suffering but secretly under my careful gaze so she doesnʼt break.”

Hearing his answer, Fairy Wixʼs brows, which were narrowed, relaxed quite a bit.

”In that case, Iʼll depend on you more.”

”…?”

Davis inclined his head in confusion, expecting to be tested more, but was that it?

”The full cultivation of an Immortal Emperor Void Dust Tree takes millions of years to complete.”

Seeing his confused expression, Fairy Wix began to explain, ”This is Stellaʼs first cycle. Even in this cycle, she could produce the Void Dust Tree Fruit, which is extremely useful for comprehending spatial insights. It takes a lot of time and energy for the fruit to mature, and once it has matured, she has to use it to enter the second cycle. Two Void Dust Tree Fruits from her own tree to enter the third cycle. Similarly, she would require three Void Dust Tree Fruits to enter the fourth cycle. So on and so forth. However, each time she absorbs the fruit to enter a new cycle, her cultivation regresses to the Level One Immortal Emperor Stage. In the first cycle, her prowess is only four levels higher. With each cycle, her prowess increases by half a level all the way until she is eight levels higher in prowess. Every three cycles, she also has a chance to create a progeny through self like I was capable of, but thatʼs not the issue.”

Davis pursed his lips, ”If the issue is the time taken for the fruit-”

”Life energy cannot become a substitute for growing a heavenly resource such as the Void Dust Fruit Tree. Otherwise, master couldʼve sped up my cultivation by many times.”

Fairy Wix shook her head sadly, ”With that being the case, do you think a human like you, whose age hasnʼt even surpassed a hundred years of age, can tolerate such a slow cultivation speed? Are you capable of looking after her, or would it be better to abandon her because she would never reach the Empyrean Stage in the next hundred thousand years like you will?”
