Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2068: The Guardian Lotus

Myria explained, causing many mouths to open agape.

Their Guardian Lotus, their guardian deity-like existence, acknowledged Ivy Aries as its master? Whatʼs going on? Could this woman be just running off her mouth?

”Then… why… why hadnʼt it done anything to Little Ivy before?”

The old Ancestorʼs voice sounded shaky.

”How should I know?” Myria spread her hands, ”The only reason I could think of is that the Jade Pearl Ravenous Lotus was waiting for Ivy Aries to mature. It probably knows that you people almost lost her, so it doesnʼt want to take a chance waiting for her anymore.”

”Besides, to think that it wasted millions of years here, guarding the Jade Lotus Valley. What a waste of potential, but its loyalty to this sect is commendable. Unfortunately, you people werenʼt able to provide it with the required energy, so itʼs stuck at a prowess of three levels higher than Peak-Level Ninth Stage for all these years. Judging by its petals and features, I think itʼs safe to assume that it hasnʼt reached Peak-Level Ninth Stage. Otherwise, it wouldʼve become an immortal long back and became capable of transforming into a humanoid form.”

”It… its prowess is four levels higher?” Valley Master Jade Aurora reacted with shock, causing Myria to give a nonchalant nod.

”That should be the case.”

Everyone couldnʼt help but be astonished by this piece of information before they turned to look at the center of the Jade Lotus Valley where Ivy Aries was taken to. Perhaps, when she emerged, she would no longer be the same Ivy Aries they saw just now.

Davis was also similarly thinking when a soul transmission fell on his mind.

”The so-called Million Emerald Vines Calamity you encountered and killed is actually called the Elemental Bloodsucking Vine Emperor, a terrifying yet resourceful lifeform that absorbs the attribute it grows near and could actually create an Emperor-Tier Emperor Beast Stage Magical Beast. However, you just had to disturb and kill it before it completely matures, didnʼt you?”

Davis blinked, ”Damn...”

”However, I wouldnʼt necessarily say that itʼs your fault. It would have taken hundreds of years for it mature. Remember, those plant lifeforms require an extreme amount of energy to bear their fruits; they obviously come in many forms like fruits and nectar, so the easiest way to obtain is to refine living beings, absorbing their nutrients, but for us, itʼs a different story. If we had found it now, we couldʼve allowed it mature within less than half a year. If we worked together, it would take us less than two months.”

”…”

Davis possessed no words to offer. Basically, he ate the fruit without waiting for it to mature, but he didnʼt regret it, considering the help it provided in his growth, his womenʼs growth, and even dual cultivation.

Nonetheless, after the tension in the air settled, they continued touring around within the sect.

It was extremely beautiful, especially when the fairies were present.

Davis even had a sly thought, what if this place belonged to him, including the women? But it was just one of his pervy thoughts. It was as good as a passing cloud, for even he couldnʼt take hundreds of women and have the capacity to care for them individually. It was just not possible in his mind unless he took it as his lifeʼs mission.

Besides, he felt that the more women he loved, the more he lacked sincerity.

He reminded himself not to fall deeper into depravity.

*Bzzz!~*

The ground underneath them suddenly shook, causing all of the maidens to become scared. The petals themselves lost their luster, becoming lighter in color.

*Whoosh!~*

At the same time, a dark green figure appeared above them. She cast a powerful gaze that shook the hearts of the maidens.

She was none other than Ivy Aries. Moreover, it could be clearly sensed that her cultivation had entered the Low-Level Law Rune Stage. However, the people could vaguely feel that her prowess was far and above what they sensed, giving them shivers.

She went through such an improvement in a mere hour?

Davisʼs eyes were narrowed as he saw that Ivy Aries went through a massive breakthrough. Her prowess was actually at a level, no, two levels above Peak-Level Ninth Stage, allowing him to understand that she had manifested a Supreme Immortal Rune somehow.

ʼNo, this isnʼt Ivy Ariesʼs doing. Itʼs the Jade Pearl Ravenous Lotus that had lived for millions of years that allowed her to become this strong by expending its energy on her… I can feel its energy coming from inside her...ʼ

Davis pondered when Myriaʼs lips moved.

”Thatʼs right. The Jade Pearl Ravenous Lotus has now detached from its overgrown body, becoming a tiny lotus. Look at Ivy Ariesʼs hair.”

Everyone suddenly noticed the tiny lotus on Ivy Ariesʼs blue hair. They hadnʼt noticed the tiny blue-green lotus that had blended with her before, perhaps because they were all taken aback by her current strength.

Ivy Aries smiled before she hurriedly descended.

”Valley Master! Ancestors! The Guardian Lotus has acknowledged me. Now, Iʼve broken through and become strong with its help! However, I donʼt know what this rune is… its prowess… what can I say…?”

The excited and proud Ivy Aries seemed to be over at a loss for words before she turned to look at Davis, seeking his opinion but too embarrassed to ask.

Davis pursed his lips before he explained what a Supreme Immortal Rune is to them. When the Jade Lotus Valley maidens learned of it, they became shocked to their core.

Their Little Ivy can kill immortals upon reaching Peak-Level Law Rune Stage!? What kind of concept was that!?

”And?” Myria continued after Davis, ”Why did this Guardian Lotus, or rather, the Jade Pearl Ravenous Lotus choose you as its master?”

”Acknowledged me as its master? No! It became my companion!”

Ivy Aries clenched her teeth, looking offended.

”I see.” Myriaʼs calm eyes glimmered, ”So it chose a pact of equality. Seems like the Jade Pearl Ravenous Lotus didnʼt revere your World Devouring Water Body as much as I think it did. Likely, it realized that the Calamity Light was no longer something that it could keep watching. It just couldnʼt afford to wait any longer.”

Ivy Aries was just about to argue but then became stunned at Fairy Myriaʼs words.

”Indeed.”

A little girlʼs voice could be heard, causing Myria to be amused as he stared at the tiny lotus on Ivy Ariesʼs head.

”You also dared to expend your life force to allow her to reach this level? Arenʼt you afraid of dying?”

”Iʼve seen billions of lives coming to an end in the passage of time. What is mine compared to the lives of the millions of fairies who take care of me, resounding with laughter each day? Iʼll gladly submerge my life inside the river Iʼve lived in for so long to protect them. The husk I left behind could at least erase a few ants that dare to threaten my Jade Lotus Valley.”

”Is that your resolve?”

”Yes~”

The Jade Pearl Ravenous Lotus replied with its childish voice, but Myria slightly nodded and said no more.

Davis raised his brows at this fully grown lotus spirit, capable of articulating its thoughts very well, turning into a child again. Perhaps, this was just temporary. Moreover, he realized that this Guardian Lotus was similar to the Legacy Artifact of the Soul Palace, Tyriele. They were both loyal to their powers and were probably searching for a suitable candidate to lift them up further.

Having Ivy Aries above its petals and probably knowing her character from her childhood, it decided to acknowledge her as a companion.

With a massive event like this happening, Davis didnʼt feel that it was appropriate to stay any longer. He could feel the maidens becoming afraid as though he would snatch Ivy Aries from them. However, he still had something to do in this place.

He floated and headed towards a location, quickly appearing in front of a palace.

However, he was suddenly blocked by Ivy Aries, who stood in front of him, spreading her hands.

”Wha-What do you want?”

Davisʼs lips curved, ”Move out of the way. I want to talk to your ancestor alone. Besides, she was the one who invited me to visit her anytime I wanted.”

Davis flew past Ivy Aries as he brushed past her, entering the floating palace.

On the other hand, Ivy Aries looked at his disappearing silhouette and inwardly screamed, becoming full of panic. Did the Emperor of Death really want her!? And was going to talk to her ancestor about it!? Was it because she became as powerful as him!?

Her cheeks couldnʼt help but blush, her heart starting to beat rapidly.

Beside her, Valley Master Jade Aurora possessed a complex expression on her face.

They didnʼt know what was going on but felt that it wasnʼt wise to interfere as they saw Fairy Myria and Evelynn wait for him, the both of them exuding a dangerous might, causing their hearts to palpitate that even the Jade Pearl Ravenous Lotus had warned them to not easily offend them with soul transmission.

Moreover, they couldnʼt tell that Fairy Myria was a different person at this moment, exuding a cheerful temperament.

The atmosphere became slightly tense, but inside the floating palace, Davis met with ancestor Aries, exchanging greetings while the atmosphere was amicable.

”Then, handsome young man. Have you considered pursuing my great-granddaughter yet? Iʼm sure that my husband wouldʼve given his approval long ago.”

The blind granny cheerfully laughed, causing Davis to smilingly shake his head. That old man really did give his permission long ago. However, he came here for another thing.

”Granny. I came here to say that I can heal you, even give back your beauty to start a new life. Are you willing to accept the treatment?”

Ancestor Ariesʼs brows narrowed, ”Beauty? Such a fleeting thing is useless. I thank you for your concern, but I ask you to leave me be.”

Her voice couldnʼt help but contain a bit of hostility, but Davisʼs lips couldnʼt help but curve in satisfaction.

”Then, what if I said that you can reincarnate with your memories intact?”

”…!?”
