Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2049: Uninvited Company

”But before that, congratulations on breaking through the Law Rune Stage and Martial Overlord Stage, husband.”

”Right.” Davis chuckled, ”With this, I finally caught up to you.”

”You jest.” Evelynn almost rolled her eyes, ”In terms of prowess, youʼve already far outstripped me even before the competition.”

”You could say that, but I have just now reached the Ninth Stage in all three cultivations. This feeling is excellent!”

Davis stretched out his hands, feeling the power dwelling within him. The soul remains calm in the face of an upsurge, but the essence and the body always make a ruckus. However, that kind of feeling was highly intoxicating.

He abruptly grabbed her cheeks and began devouring her sweet crimson lips. Evelynn didnʼt resist, reciprocating as it came. A moment later, they opened their eyes, looking at each other with gentleness.

”You stink…”

”Uh…”

Davis realized that his body had just undergone a transformation, getting rid of the impurities he had accumulated by consuming many pills. He wanted to explain, but Evelynn grinned.

”But, I fancy it.”

Evelynn leaned and took his lips, wrapping her arms around his neck. Davis enjoyed her soft lips for a few moments but then slipped from her loving luck, causing her to blink.

”Iʼd like to taint you right about now with my nasty scent, but whatever, I canʼt let my Evelynn take a loss. Besides, we got to rescue that brat who said that she didnʼt need my help. Iʼm going to strictly collect some heavy payment from her after saving her.” He grinned.

”Hehe~ Thatʼs so like you, wanting to have her.”

”Absolutely wrong! I meant resources…!” Davis waved his hand.

”Alright.”

Evelynn smiled genially. She couldnʼt help but recall the time he was all over her when she felt that she was hideous and disgusting, not to mention poisonous all over. She could never forget that in her life, holding that as a dear memory.

Davis rubbed his nose before quickly washing his body with water, further using lightning to get rid of the minute particles of reek and drying up by using the heat of the flames before collecting everything he brought out.

”Iʼll listen to the details on the way. Letʼs go.”

Evelynn nodded and clad her face in a purple veil, following him as they flew into the air.

They traveled southeast for a while, but Davis suddenly stopped, narrowing his eyes.

”What?” Evelynn narrowed her brows, wondering if he found someone spying on them or something.

However, Davis shook his head, ”Letʼs return to the Alstreim Family first.”

Evelynn didnʼt ask anymore and followed him back to the Alstreim Family. However, they didnʼt return to the Purple Guest Palace but stepped into the Golden Palaceʼs fourth floor, where they met with a captivating white-haired woman looking bored. However, the moment she laid her eyes on Davis, there was a visible surprise in her gleaming black eyes.

”Oh? Youʼve entered the Law Rune Stage and Martial Overlord Stage already?

She slightly grinned behind her veil, causing Davis to sigh, ”Youʼve also entered the Martial Overlord Stage, so what do you want now?”

”What do I want?” Myria raised her brows, ”Time is being wasted. I heard that youʼre going to the rifts of the Poison Rift Valley to save a damsel in distress? Not that I care, but Iʼm interested in that place, wanting to see it with my very own eyes for a long time but had no time. Now, there seems to be an opportune moment?”

”You want to go with me?” Davis narrowed his brows.

He supposed that Myria noticed Evelynn flying away from the Purple Guest Palace or used her bodily senses to listen to some conversation. The Young Mistress and the Valley Master of the Jade Lotus Valley being forced into the rifts of the Poison Rift Valley had spread far and wide, after all.

”Thatʼs right.” Myriaʼs voice became playful, ”Well, you said that weʼre in cooperation. Letʼs see how much you can uphold-”

”Release.”

Davis held his hands together, performing a sign as he released the soul suppression on Myria while she felt the crappy seal on her soul essence disappear, causing her to become stumped before she narrowed her eyes.

”What is the meaning of this?”

Davis kept a nonchalant expression on his face.

”Well, you stayed quiet for quite some time. Itʼs time I released you. Otherwise, you would be hard on Ellia, claiming that she is a betrayer and whatnot. Besides, since our first cooperation went well, Iʼd like to believe that this second cooperation would be the same. Donʼt disappoint me.”

Myria stared at him with narrowed eyes before her gaze became normal.

”Thatʼs my line.” She said no more and lowered her head, her eyes appearing contemplative.

”What? Youʼre thinking of changing plans and escaping since I released you?”

Davis slightly smirked, causing Myria to condescendingly giggle.

”We both know that seal wasnʼt anything powerful enough to restrict me, so why bother jesting? I already said Iʼm going to the rifts. Even if youʼre not going there, itʼs on my list of places to visit as I could find something worthwhile there.”

Myria took a step forward and hovered in the air, flying away.

Davis and Evelynn watched her leave towards the east.

”You wonʼt ask me why I did that?”

”I tend to believe that your actions are always for the best, and there isnʼt a change in my thoughts this time either.”

Evelynn answered without any hint of hesitation whatsoever, causing Davis to smile deeply.

”Well, if I suppress her too much, it would have the opposite effect. Clearly, this was her day to probe my reaction and check if it was in order with her observations.”

Evelynn nodded, agreeing with his opinion. However, the risk of releasing Myria was also equally enormous, but since she left the Grand Alstreim City, she wasnʼt bothered.

Davis took a moment closing his eyes. His soul sense covered the entire Grand Alstreim City at this moment as he checked for some strange happenings, but nothing was out of normalcy, allowing him to check on his women.

Except for Isabella and Shirley, almost all of them were in closed-door cultivation. His avatar constantly supplied them with rich pills that allowed them to reach higher levels easily. This was also one of the reasons he procured the alchemy ingredients for a lump sum of 600 Peak-Level Spirit Stone Veins Sources so that he could allow them to cultivate quickly with minimal effort.

The Thousand Pill Palaceʼs pill recipes have already seemed to arrive, and once the Glorious Pill Palaceʼs pill recipes arrived, he would be able to make specific and catered Eighth Stage and Ninth Stage Pills to them, bringing them all to Natalyaʼs level at the very least within a few years.

Moreover, Drake and his wives were also here as they sought protection from powerful enemies they couldʼve made because of having a friendship with him. He also provided them with yin and yang type he could make pills because he felt that he owed them much after being gifted the Immortal Grade Rapturous Soul Aroma Manual.

Alexi Ethren was also here along with Adlet Rayburn, including their wives. It seemed that the two of them hit off well despite the level difference.

After the competition and his terrifying actions that shook the righteous path, chaos didnʼt ensue, but Davis kept feeling that it was like the calm before the storm. However, what could the righteous path people do against him? He wasnʼt worried but checked just in case.

Once he concluded that there were no abnormalities in the Grand Alstreim City, he and Evelynn took to the skies and caught up to Myria, who was about to enter a Territory Gate. They continued on with her silently until they reached the Poison Rift Valleyʼs Territory through the Soul Palaceʼs Territory, where they met with Threelotus.

Threelotus was visibly shocked upon seeing Myria, but she didnʼt say anything and bowed.

”Palace Master, Iʼve been waiting for your arrival. Let me lead you to the rift that is closely connected to where Palace Mistress found a lead.”

Davis nodded and didnʼt say anything. However, Myria looked confused as she turned to look at Evelynn.

”Palace Mistress? Isnʼt that you? Donʼt you know the way back?”

”Didnʼt I say?” Evelynn lightly smiled, ”Heading inside the rifts is easier, and surviving inside is difficult, but making it back without knowing the way out is extremely difficult, sometimes up to luck.”

”I see.”

Myria perfunctorily nodded, not asking any more questions as though she understood the gist of the situation inside the rifts. Evelynn looked at Davis while he slightly shrugged, indicating that he was least bothered if she had some strange plans in the rifts.

He knew that Myria wouldnʼt touch him or anybody else since, as she said before, they both knew they could not restrain each other, making it so that it was futile to battle unless they were planning on perishing or die trying.

They followed Threelotus and arrived at a location where they sensed space become unstable.
