Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2060: Hex Arachnidʼs True Prowess

Ellia continued her collection of thoughts in a lively tone.

”They rejoiced and became overbearing but fearing their supreme power and the influence they would possess upon the growth of the Emperor-Tier Magical Beast Immortal, many other powers didnʼt want to leave them alone, deciding to send them all to their deaths by joining forces. ”

”What? A Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Clan with such power was pushed to dire straits? And what do you mean by Emperor-Tier?”

Panic was visible in Davisʼs eyes. If the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Immortal inside was an Emperor-Tier Magical Beast Immortal, wouldnʼt the difficulty also drastically increase for Evelynn?

His blood chilled.

”Calm down.” Ellia worriedly gestured with her hands, ”Even if Myria told me to keep quiet about it, I wouldʼve said something to you. I was just playing with you when I said I just remembered. Personally, I think Evelynn would more or less pass this trial.”

”Why do you think so?” Davis had his eyes narrowed, his expression looking not so amused, even angered.

”Because she possesses the Earth Dragon Immortalʼs Blood with her. Do you even realize that such a fusion of blood to a fey is close to impossible?

”To even digest one type of magical beast blood in order to become a fey, humans would have to go through excruciating pain. Imagine if they took another type of blood. Not only would the pain be tormenting the soul, but the chances of becoming a fey would become abysmal. Our Evelynn is a unique existence who could be said to have achieved a fusion between Earth Dragon Blood and Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Blood. In other words, she became a mixed fey species between a dragon and a spider.”

”What does that have to do with Evelynn being able to breeze through the trial?” Davisʼs eyes flickered in urgency.

”Because the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Blood only lacks a powerful body. Since Evelynn could compensate for her bodily strength with her Earth Dragon Immortalʼs Blood and what the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnids are mostly concerned about are their weak bodies, the trials should mostly be taxing on the body, and if Iʼm not wrong, the body would be tested with the ability of their three hexes.”

”Collapse Hex, Sealing Hex, and the Poison Hex?” Davis quickly asked, causing Ellia to nod.

”Iʼm not sure if thatʼs what it is called, but yes, those three hex abilities are what scares everyone the most. Their third eye is a great source of pride for them, so Iʼm positive that Evelynn would be trialed through their species technique.”

Ellia smiled assuredly, causing Davis to finally relax.

”If thatʼs the case, Iʼm relieved...”

Davis heaved the stifled heaviness out of his heart. He was worried that he would lose Evelynn because of his near-blind faith in her abilities and a lack of consideration for the difficulty of the trial, but it seems like his belief wasnʼt misplaced.

”You also seem to be misunderstanding something.”

Suddenly, the tone of the white-haired woman changed, causing Davisʼs heart to clench as he knew that it was Myria who was speaking now. Was Ellia kidding just to placate him?

”What am I misunderstanding?”

”The King-Tier and Emperor-Tier in the mortal realm produce a different level of strength when theyʼre in the immortal realm. In the mortal cultivation realm, a King-Tier Magical Beast at the Emperor Beast Stage could only surmount two levels above their level, and an Emperor-Tier Magical Beast at the Emperor Beast Stage could surmount four levels above their level.”

”But before we get to the difference, there is something called bloodline potential. Magical beasts, when they reach their bloodline limit, lose their royal status by one tier as their bloodline potential degrades. An Emperor-Tier Magical Beast would become a King-Tier Magical Beast upon stepping into the Immortal Stage, and a King-Tier Magical Beast would become a normal Magical Beast upon stepping into the immortal realm cultivation. In short, growth in the immortal realm cultivation follows the same rule as surpassing bloodline limit in mortal realm cultivation, causing degradation to follow after theyʼve expended their bloodline potential to increase species rank or their stage above their limit.”

”When their cultivation reaches the immortal cultivation realm, their tier confers a completely different array of prowess. In the Immortal Beast Stage, a King-Tier Magical Beast can jump three levels, while an Emperor-Tier Magical Beast can surmount six levels.”

”…!”

Davis looked fairly shocked, but Myria still continued.

”An Emperor-Tier Magical Beast that has the ability to innately perform the terrifying Hex Laws like the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Immortal would be very well able to cross six levels with ease, and when they use their Supreme Laws, which are Hex Laws, they could almost cross eight levels to battle in the immortal realm of cultivation, but not like me. In any case, you can see why many powers would hunt-”

”What!?” Davis stood shocked, ”Not like you?”

Wasnʼt Myria only capable of crossing seven levels with her Reincarnation Laws?

He suddenly saw Myriaʼs lips faintly curve behind her veil.

”My Eternal Life Soul is originally an Immortal Soul Physique, so of course, it could only display its true prowess after I enter the Immortal Foundation Stage.”

”…”

”What are you so shocked of? In case you couldnʼt tell, I was born an immortal during my first lifetime.”

”@#$%^&*!”

Davisʼs expression became fuming, almost stifled.

He didnʼt detect any lies in Myriaʼs words, so how could she be so powerful yet still need Fallen Heaven!? Were the cultivators so unfairly strong in the immortal realms!?

However, Davisʼs fuming expression faded as he saw Myriaʼs eyes look forlorn, as though she wasnʼt happy to be born an immortal. Furthermore, her previous gloating voice, while bragging about her power, sounded rather dejected, causing him to not even know what to say to the sudden gloom in the atmosphere.

”Va- Valley Master… Please… Please donʼt… die…!”

Abruptly, a heart-wrenching voice echoed as it attracted Davis and Myriaʼs attention, causing them to look at the source of the voice, which sat up on the bed, stretching its hands into the distance with wide eyes.
