Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2061: How It Led

ʼWhat… what kind of situation am I in…!?ʼ

The last time she had seen the Emperor of Death and Fairy Myria was when they were fighting each other, so why were they in front of her now!?

ʼWait…! That doesnʼt matter…!ʼ

”Whereʼs Valley Master?”

Ivy Aries quickly stood up as she looked around, trying to find a silhouette, but she couldnʼt find her anywhere. She hurriedly flew towards the inheritance palace and looked around but didnʼt spot the person she was looking for. However, she didnʼt give up and searched the outskirts of the inheritance palace, thoroughly sweeping but coming up with nothing.

In the end, she returned back to Davis and Myria, her expression as though she was going to cry but holding a brave front.

Ivy Aries didnʼt hadnʼt equipped a veil at this moment, so her gorgeous face adorned with stunning hot features was plain to be seen, making Davis blink.

”You… you two… what did you do to my Valley Master?”

”Woah. Such accusations. What did you think we did to your Valley Master?”

Davis raised his brows, looking offended while it caused Ivy Aries to panic, ”… Uhm, no… I didnʼt mean it that way. I just want to know if Valley Master is safe or not. I must hurry. Otherwise, it would be too later. The poison would spread into her body and kill her. Please, tell me where my Valley Master is...”

Her voice became one of pleading before her eyes couldnʼt help but shake, ”Donʼt tell me...”

She turned around and looked at the inheritance palace, ”… that she headed inside?”

”Thereʼs someone inside, alright.”

Davis uttered, causing Ivy Aries to collapse as her palms touched the ground. Her robeʼs sleeves were laid out on the ground, making her look quite helpless as she stared at the inheritance palace with despair.

The supposed fact that Valley Master Jade Aurora entered the inheritance palace meant that she was prepared for death. After all, Valley Master Jade Aurora was less than a thousand years old. How could she pass an immortal inheritance that was meant for youths under a hundred years old normally? It was nigh impossible.

Perhaps, going out by taking the trial rather than having her life extinguished by poison was more honorable.

”All because… I was weak...”

Ivy Aries shuddered as she silently cried and murmured. She felt miserable, having lost someone important to her.

”Youʼre so wicked, Prince Davis.”

Ellia shook her head with a hidden smile, causing Ivy Aries to freeze before she slowly turned to look at the Emperor of Death.

”This is the result of your prideful actions that denied my help, Ivy Aries; is what Iʼd like to say, but your Valley Master is safe a few rifts away from us.”

Ivy Aries became stunned, her eyes holding a vague, hopeful glimmer as she heard Davisʼs words.

”If itʼs the poison youʼre further worried about, weʼve already finished healing your Valley Master. At the moment, sheʼs resting peacefully with my subordinate Threelotus, although she has a face that says that sheʼs still worried about you.”

”However, I didnʼt lie. The person who entered the inheritance palace is my first wife, so Iʼm going to wait. As for you, you can leave if you want to, but Iʼm not helping you if you face danger again. It is better for you to return along with us after some time.”

Davis didnʼt bother to say anything else. As for payment, he looked at the inheritance palace in front of him.

What other greater payment did this Ivy Aries have to pay him? She got lost and led them right to this decrepit and forgotten rift space which was extremely fruitful to Evelynn. He even felt like thanking Ivy Aries for behaving foolishly. After all, would he have found this place just through exploration?

There were literally thousands of rifts appearing and disappearing in a time period unknown to them, so reaching this place was extremely difficult. Moreover, this space was said to be a collision of two or more mini-realms, meaning that there could be more inheritances, but chances are they are inheritances that are already inherited, like the Blazing Thunderlight Kirin Immortal Inheritance.

Perhaps, the only reason why the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Immortal Inheritance hadnʼt been inherited was because of its extreme difficulty. After all, it could be possible that the overseeing Immortal in that inheritance was an Emperor-Tier Magical Beast Immortal.

”I… Iʼll listen to you.”

Ivy Aries lowered her head, blushing as she felt shame. If she had honestly accepted his help, things wouldnʼt have progressed to this level. She had immense faith in the Jade Lotus Valleyʼs Guardian Lotus, but it was a pity that two vile forces ambushed them before they could enter the Jade Lotus Valley, forced to retreat into the rifts to have a chance at life since they had exhausted themselves in that ambush.

”Uhm… are the others from our entourage who escaped safe?”

”Theyʼre all safe, or so Iʼve heard.”

Davis replied, causing Ivy Aries to heave a sigh of relief.

Fortunately, she appears to have lost no one in this incident, especially at the last moment due to the Emperor of Deathʼs interference. Otherwise, with her having exhausted herself, the chances that her Valley Master wouldʼve dropped dead increased by many times. She didnʼt know what method the Emperor of Death used to remove Valley Masterʼs poison, but with the Hex Demoness with him, she also knew that poison was of little concern.

”Is your spatial ring empty?”

”Mhm. We sought protection here, especially since we were barraged by the energy lifeforms of the first trial. There was no other choice.”

Davis agreed with Ivy Aries as he felt that a hex wouldʼve likely cursed those who didnʼt hand over their main spatial rings to enter. Most likely, that was what the warning was about.

”What exactly happened after you two fled into the rifts? Give me a detailed account of it.”

Knowing that Evelynn would only return sometime later, he felt like hearing a story would help him pass time as well, but he said so in a commanding tone that didnʼt leave Ivy Aries with many options.

She stayed silent for a few seconds, gathering her thoughts before she explained their escape into the rifts.

In summary, Ivy Aries and Valley Master Jade Aurora fled into a rift, followed by their pursuers. After entering multiple rifts, they managed to ward them off once before they hunted them down and killed them one by one, devouring their energy, but after they became convinced that there was no danger left, wanting to return, a mindless savage beast lurking underneath the shadows sprung from the ground and slashed at Ivy Aries.

However, the cautious Valley Master pushed her away, ultimately saving her but also getting slashed by its poisonous scythe leg.

Ivy Aries became angry at that mindless savage beast, wanting to shred it into pieces. However, they realized that they were standing above the lair of mindless savage beasts and hurriedly retreated.

They managed to lose all of them as they wandered into many rifts, stumbling upon the inheritance site before they retreated the way they came, but as a result, found that they had lost their way back as one of the rifts halfway through their return got closed. By this time, they were out of energy, and Valley Master Jade Aurora got poisoned by the sneak attack of that mindless savage beast. It didnʼt further help as they were repeatedly attacked again while they made their way back to the inheritance site, incurring more poisonous injuries.

However, she didnʼt leave the Valley Master, choosing to help her control the poison that had paralyzed a portion of her body. She aided Valley Master Jade Aurora to suppress the poison, constantly trying to tranquilize it, but because she continuously devoured the poisonous heaven and earth energy around her and aided Valley Master Jade Aurora from being poisoned for days and even allowed her to get back to health somewhat, she finally exhausted her strength and collapsed.

The Valley Master, who had gained a bit of strength with Ivy Ariesʼs help, chose to leave her on the safe-looking inheritance site. Moreover, deeply understanding that she was a burden and couldnʼt allow Ivy Aries to die along with her, she left and tried to search for an exit in another path while leaving the corpses as a waypoint but ultimately collapsed in that location after a long surmounting battle, almost left to die but was finally found by Davis and Evelynn in time.

A few minutes ago, Valley Master Jade Aurora had also woken up and gave her account to Evelynnʼs avatar, which Yotan relayed through a Soul Palaceʼs special transmission method, which is a one-time-use special imagery stone that possessed spatial properties rather than a formation that projects information from one place to another like a live-feed, even in this unstable space, so it matched with Ivy Ariesʼs statement.

Ivy Aries had also relaxed and deeply smiled as she saw her Valley Master be in good health.

”Thank you, Emperor of Death.”

She innocently smiled at Davis, bowing ninety degrees for nine whole seconds, when suddenly the rift space shook.

*Rumble!~*

”The trial seemed to have started...”

Ellia uttered as she raised her hand in a cheer for Evelynn.
