Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2066: Disliked?

Valley Master Jade Aurora quickly asked what was also in Ivy Ariesʼs mind, causing the Ancestors to frown as they cast an odd look toward them.

Ivy Aries and Valley Master Jade Aurora were confused. Why were they all looking at them as if they uttered something laughable? Could it be that the rifts had some strange effects on their memories, confusing them?

They felt it was not possible!

”Little Jade- Hehem~ Valley Master Jade, the Emperor Sword Sect had been officially exterminated by the person standing behind you.”

The two of their hearts skipped a beat upon hearing their old Ancestorʼs stern voice, causing them to gulp.

Exterminated? Did their old Ancestor mean that the Emperor of Death had slaughtered the whole Emperor Sword Sect?

What kind of notion was that? Chaos didnʼt descend in the righteous path by now? At least, their Jade Lotus Valley shouldʼve been affected somewhat since it was right beside the Emperor Sword Sect Territory, but why does it seem so peaceful, even more than in normal times.

”That was nothing compared to the destruction of the Vast Sky Emperor Palace, though.”

At this moment, Davisʼs voice could be heard from behind, but very close, causing them to flinch as they leaped a few meters forwards before turning around, their faces full of shock.

Destruction of the Vast Sky Emperor Palace? What was going on!? What happened in the time they were trapped in the rifts!? How come their own Ancestors were rather calm about it?

”Now then, someone said that they donʼt want my help?” Davisʼs expression became stern as his brows narrowed, ”Who was that?”

Ivy Aries shivered before her lips moved.

”Me.”

Davis stared at her lower her head in trepidation before he smiled.

”Excellent of you to admit your shortcomings. Originally, I intended to collect some debt from you, but I donʼt think I have the need to do so. Surely, Ivy Aries and Valley Master Jade Aurora could understand why, so thatʼs all. Farewell, Jade Lotus Valleyʼs lovely fairies.”

Davis clasped his hand and was about to leave. However, the old Ancestor abruptly reached out her hand,

”Emperor of Death, please visit our sect. Ivy Ariesʼs ancestor would also like to meet you very much.”

Davis blinked, ”I thought your sect was forbidden to outsiders like me?”

”How can we treat you as an outsider after what youʼve done for us. Safely bringing back the Valley Master is alone worthy of praises and invitations many times, but you have also saved our one and only hope in this chaotic era. We owe you more than you could think, so please accept our invitation.”

Davis felt like saying that he had only done it for Old Man Garvin because he was Ivy Ariesʼs ancestor, but it seems like they wonʼt take no for an answer unless he came at them aggressively. However, he was a bit surprised to see them inviting a devil like him into their home.

He was sure his reputation was in the gutters. Werenʼt they scared of him?

”Iʼm a bit curious about the Jade Lotus Valleyʼs Guardian Lotus, so why not? Iʼm going.”

Myria headed towards the Jade Lotus Valley, causing Davis to inwardly sigh. He also had a faint inkling that she was doing this to annoy him.

The old Ancestor gestured, ”Please.”

Davis pursed his lips before following them while Evelynn, Yotan, and Threelotus also followed him. Their group arrived at the outskirts of the Jade Lotus Valley, where the surface was full of water. It was no secret that the Jade Lotus Valley maidens lived within a hundred fifty kilometers radius river. Surrounding this river was full of mountains, valleys, and waterfalls, creating fantastic and unique scenery.

It was serene, lightly resounding with the squeaks of tamed magical beasts all over, becoming one with nature. Even the sectʼs disciples were practicing their Water Laws near the tall waterfall.

At this moment, there was someone waiting for them above the mountains near the outskirts.

Ivy Ariesʼs eyes became teary as she arrived before that someone. She appeared old and scrawny, her face full of wrinkles and pimples yet full of mirth.

”Ancestor Aries…”

Ivy Aries captured ancestor Ariesʼs hands, letting her touch her face with love.

”Little Ivy, youʼre back~”

Ancestor Aries shed tears of relief, hugging Ivy Aries for her safe return.

Davis stared at Ancestor Aries and found that she was blind, not even capable of using soul force as that would strain her old soul. Her body was also smirched with poison that it was unknown to him how she survived this long. It was clear that the Shards used their wits to kill her in the Jade Lotus Valley but still couldnʼt completely kill her.

A few seconds later, Ivy Aries and her ancestor separated before she asked, ”Whereʼs that young man?”

”Here…” Ivy Aries led her ancestor to Davis with an unsure expression on her face.

However, ancestor Aries eagerly continued walking before one of her hands managed to touch Davisʼs chest, whereupon she quickly grabbed his shoulder, her face looking eager.

”Youʼre the young man my husband took as a disciple?”

Davis was amused by this courageous woman. Perhaps, she was not afraid of death.

”Yes. Iʼve studied under Old Man Garvin.”

”Old Man?” Ancestor Aries blinked, her white eyes gleaming with wetness, ”Youʼre so close with that grumpy man. Did you witness his last moments?”

”I did.”

”I see. At least he was not alone when he died. Good grief, for all the trouble he put me through… he better have reincarnated properly...”

Davis could only keep his mouth shut as he could feel intense sorrow from her, probably wanting to reunite with Old Man Garvin in the next life. Most likely, he understood that she wouldnʼt undergo medication even if he recommended it.

”If anything, Old Man Garvin mentioned about you quite a few times while he taught me for a few years. Clearly, the others didnʼt even come close to you in terms of love.”

Ancestor Ariesʼs expression turned from one of sourness into a bright smile. She raised her hands and touched Davisʼs face, running her hands over him.

”…!”

The Jade Lotus Valley maidensʼ scalps turned numb. What was their elder doing!? Even if she is blind and unable to use soul sense, they were afraid she was offending him!

However, Davis stayed still, not making a move.

”Hehe~ Youʼre extremely handsome, arenʼt you? Just like he was once was… and now, his disciple is also exceptional.”

Ancestor Aries couldnʼt help but laugh lightly. She then suddenly grabbed Davis and Ivy Ariesʼs hands and forcefully brought their hands together.

”A perfect match for my lovely and prodigious great-granddaughter.”

”Ah!~”

Ivy Aries retreated as though she felt a shock upon touching Davisʼs hand.

”Haha. It seems like Iʼm disliked.”

Davis chuckled as he took his hand back, but of course, he didnʼt think that way as he knew about his own worth. He felt that it was more likely she was disgusted with his actions of slaughter. However, what he didnʼt know about Ivy Aries was that it was the very first time she touched a manʼs hand, so in his eyes, her reaction was a bit over the top towards her savior.

But he didnʼt mind it as he considered her a beautiful lass who didnʼt step out of the Jade Lotus Valley to gain experience. It was practically a given for her to hate him as he had committed mass slaughter.

Ivy Aries opened her mouth, but she didnʼt say anything, lowering her head. On the other hand, ancestor Aries shook her head.

”Sigh, youngsters these days… but whatever. Itʼs not like I can decide the future of the Jade Lotus Valley. In any case, letʼs go inside the sect. My husbandʼs favored disciple, please follow the Valley Master and the others. Iʼm quite slow, so I wonʼt be following you all. Iʼd like to return to my palace instead, so please come visit me anytime you like if you have something to talk about with this decrepit old hag.” Ancestor Aries lightly chuckled.

A maiden arrived beside her and supported her old frame, appearing like she was her caretaker.

Davis nodded before the Jade Lotus Valleyʼs maidens took the forefront. His gaze momentarily met with Valley Master Jade Aurora, causing her to look away as she hurried, leading them inside the sect as they passed through a foggy area.
