Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2055: Contact

It couldʼve also produced its own Spirit Attribute Source if it happened to experience a suitable reaction.

Still, according to Mival Silverwind and the records she read from the Myriad Poison Sect, also obtaining some suitable manuals, she knew that she should be able to create a Rune and a Crest. Then, once she reaches the peak of Level Six Abstruse Intent in Poison Laws, she could even try making an Imposing Rune after perfecting her domain and law sea that she never got to complete as her body turned into a fey.

However, Evelynn didnʼt feel clear about her cultivation path because the laws attached to Essence Gathering Cultivation and Body Tempering Cultivation felt the same to her. She supposed that she could use those laws for both cultivations, meaning her Rune and Crest would come from the same source of comprehension.

She wasnʼt convinced about that but what she knew for a fact was that it was going to cost her a ludicrous amount of energy to form a Supreme Immortal Rune and Supreme Immortal Crest than it was required for Natalya and the others, all because she was a fey, having both the innate potential that magical beasts possessed and comprehension ability humans possessed.

Nonetheless, when they stepped out, they were again greeted by the sight of mindless savage beasts. However, different than before, they were all of Darkfall Spider blood, clearly dominating this part of the rifts as they were more compared to the other types of mindless savage beasts.

”Tch, how many humans have come here with the idea of seeking power, only to turn themselves into this wretched state? There are even small ones. Or were they used as bait by the wicked path?”

Evelynn clicked her tongue, appearing angered. She couldnʼt believe the number of mindless savage beasts in this spacious place, around five thousand lurking in this rift alone.

”Most of them arenʼt treasure seekers necessarily, you know.”

Davisʼs voice was amused, causing Evelynn to narrow her sexy eyes before they went wide.

These mindless savage beasts actually mated and propagated to this level instead of humans turning into these wretched yet unfortunate creatures? They were born and bred here?

She couldnʼt help but feel a bit nauseous because one misstep wouldʼve also caused her to become like this, and it seems that even in that mindless state, a living beingʼs instinct to propagate still existed within them. She slightly felt pity for these creatures who were unable to think for themselves, only capable of acting on instincts, and the moment they saw them, they began rushing towards them without even thinking about the consequences.

”Iʼll do it. After all, we got trapped for some time already, trying to make some life...”

Evelynn pouted while Davis chuckled as he raised his hand, death energy surging from his palm. The dark and ominous energy then became seamless, spreading towards the surroundings quickly while the mindless savage beasts started dropping dead one by one. Their prowess ranged from the Fifth Stage to the Peak-Level Ninth Stage, but in front of Davisʼs death energy, none of them even managed to rise with a counterattack.

The sheer numbers didnʼt make a difference to Davis, whose prowess was unstoppable and lethal for them.

The mindless savage beasts acted on their instincts, so if they feared something, they should be able to run away. However, their foremost characteristic was being bloodthirsty, which meant that they would put themselves in danger even if they sensed extreme danger.

Davisʼs death energy wave, which he just spread his soul force with a wave of his hand, was alone enough to quickly collapse their souls, disallowing them to run away even if they wanted to scram after being faced with the bane of life that intrinsically struck fear into all life.

”There are too many of them like before. Letʼs feed Wisteria later, okay?”

Davis asked while Evelynn nodded without hesitation. Although Wisteriaʼs eating speed was fast and became faster as it entered the Peak-Level Ninth Stage, there was no telling how long it would take for it to devour all five thousand corpses. They were already trapped in the previous rift for some time, so they didnʼt want to waste more time.

Evelynn went to collect the corpses while Davis searched around for some clues. There were many stains of blood on the dim, barren land. However, they each had a distinct aura around them because all of these mindless savage beasts possessed the blood of the Darkfall Spider. His soul sense constantly brushed over these thousands of bloodstains before he found something strange.

The bloodstain of a pure human. However, it was coagulated, causing him to understand that the owner of this blood was contaminated with poison, specifically the poison of these mindless savage beasts.

Evelynn also came closer to him and witnessed the coagulated blood on the ground. She understood the gist of it and turned to look at the rift nearby as judging from the path of another rift to the rift she was looking at, the owner of this blood couldʼve very well headed into the latter rift.

”Yeah, thatʼs the way.”

Davis saw that the karmic thread from the fabric he possessed, and this coagulated blood also led to that rift. He felt that they were getting closer and closer, so they did not delay anymore and moved towards that rift.

They passed through the rift and saw the same scenery, but their eyes went wide as they witnessed a dark green-robed walking towards them slowly while holding her arm, abruptly stopping when she witnessed them appear through the rift.

”Em-Emperor of Death…” Laden in her weak voice was a bit of fear but also hope.

”Please… save… save Ivy… Sheʼs our only hope… Sheʼs further inside that rift… and then to the east rift… and to the north rift… please save-?”

Abruptly, the womanʼs robe wore off as they disappeared, causing her to become butt naked while wearing her accessories that indicated that she was the Valley Master. Her eyes went wide from shock, but she could even further speak; her body shuddered once before she collapsed, hitting face-first on the ground.

Both Davis and Evelynn were stunned by this scene, wondering what was going on before they realized that the robe Valley Master Jade Aurora wore was one of her martial energy.

”Oh no! Sheʼs going to die!” However, Evelynn shouted as they quickly came out of their reverie!

Davis instantly appeared before Valley Master Jade Aurora and turned her around, trying to get her breath some air as he instantly used Fallen Heavenʼs life energy to begin healing her.

A quick glance with his eyes told him that she was slashed in many places, on the arms, over her shoulder and stomach, and even on her cheek. Some of the wounds seemed to be new, while some seemed to have been given appropriate measures as the medicinal paste was applied over, but every wound seemed like they were inflicted because she failed to dodge them at the last second, not too deep but shallow.

If it were just the wounds, it wouldʼve been fine. However, the scars were in a poisoned state, causing her to finally collapse. Her jade-white skin was also adorned by black veins all over, displaying that the toxin had invaded every part of her body.

”No, we wonʼt make it in time. Evelynn, help me remove the poison.”

Simultaneously, he used his soul sense to scan every part of her body and saw that the poison had invaded all her organs. They were spreading rapidly and could be on the verge of causing organ failure. If thatʼs the case, he would be too late to save her.

Evelynn captured both Valley Master Jade Auroraʼs hands and began to absorb the poison through her pores, easily annihilating the poison with her own Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnidʼs blood while Davis clenched his teeth before he grabbed her left breast and forehead, intending to get rid of the poison from her heart and brain first.

There was no other choice. If he hesitated any longer, Valley Master Jade Aurora would die before he could clear the poison from her system!
