Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2064: Meeting It Again

When she did so, many holes opened over the surface as water surged and splashed on her, seeping into her body.

However, her caution only lasted for a moment before she became dumbfounded.

ʼThis… itʼs healing me?ʼ

Evelynnʼs brows twitched. Her latent vitality had already healed her, so there was no need for this measure, but considering that the other trial-takers wouldnʼt be so lucky, especially human trial-takers, she could understand the reason for this measure.

Sealing Hex, Poison Hex, and the Collapse Hex. The combined usage of these three hexes would completely cause the trial-taker to explode into a mangled mess of flesh, after all. If they survived, it was a given that they would need healing, or they would die sooner or later.

Verdant water with the property of healing kept surging out of the holes on the surface, but Evelynn heaved a breath and walked past it. The gate that attacked her from time to time had now opened, revealing the path inside. She walked past it and arrived at the other end, causing the door to close.

Nonetheless, there was a lingering fear in her heart as she thought.

ʼIf I challenged Immortal Grade Trial, wouldnʼt I have died?ʼ

Evelynn couldnʼt believe the difficulty of this trial.

The only way she could clear the Immortal Grade Trial is for her to manifest an Imposing Crest, which would ultimately strengthen her body by four levels. However, to conjure an Imposing Crest as a Fey required so much energy that she didnʼt possess. If it was just a Magnificent Crest, it was entirely possible for her to create it with a bit of energy, but that would give her no additional strength other than providing her with Crest and would ultimately cause her to require more energy in the future to melt that Crest and recreate it.

She would be creating it two times, which was an utter waste of time and energy. She was of the plan of creating a Supreme Immortal Rune and Crest since Davis achieved the same, so as a Fey, the extreme amount of energy she required was no joke.

However, if she obtained the essence blood of the Emperor-Tier Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid, she could see it totally occurring, allowing her prowess to almost reach Davisʼs. Actually, she imagined she wouldnʼt even need the Supreme Immortal Rune and Crest to reach such a level, but the effects provided by the two uniqueness would still help her in times of need.

At this moment, the remnant soul of the Emperor-Tier Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid emerged, its rows of razor-sharp teeth moving.

”To think that you passed the Emperor Grade Trial that easily. As expected of a fey who successfully fused with our arachnid blood and a dragonʼs. If Iʼm not wrong, you have an Earth Dragon Immortalʼs Blood, right?”

Evelynnʼs brows twitched. That easily? If the Collapse Hex was a bit stronger and she didnʼt layer herself, her entire body wouldʼve exploded, causing her to inevitably die as even her regeneration couldnʼt save her if her heart or brain was destroyed.

Nevertheless, she nodded her head.

”Right, I absorbed the blood essence of the Earth Dragon Immortal and the blood of Misteltae.”

The Emperor-Tier Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Immortal nodded its giant head.

”Mhm, as someone acknowledged by our speciesʼs blood, you still deserve my blood. However, youʼre a unique existence I have never seen since my Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Clan finds it extremely hard to produce mixed species with any other magical beast species due to our innate ability to use hexes. A Supreme Law is a Supreme Law, after all. It cannot co-exist with another law so easily even if it is compatible, but you managed to overcome that. So be warned, you will either fail in this assimilation or become extremely strong after, perhaps even stronger than me, hopefully.”

”However, I will remind you that the more powerful your existence is, the more recoil, the more the heavens would be against you, sending powerful heavenly tribulations towards you when you breakthrough.”

”Iʼm aware.”

Evelynn stated with a calm expression on her face, causing the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Immortal to nod heavily.

”Since you passed the Emperor Grade Trial, the following rewards will be yours.”

”A drop of my blood essence.”

Evelynn looked at the crimson jewel inside a vial, floating inside with a supreme aura. She walked towards it and sat in the formation intended to help the trial-take absorb the blood essence, and because she was a fey of the same race, she didnʼt even need a manual to help her absorb.

The blood began reacting to her as it slightly shook within the vial.

”Careful. Itʼs extremely powerful. Thatʼs why one should pass the King Grade Trial and gain the blood essences of normal Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnids before absorbing my blood after passing the Emperor Grade Trial, but since you possess the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnidʼs blood already on top of having the Earth Dragonʼs blood, I assume that your body will be able to endure.”

Evelynn stared at the remnant soul before she nodded her head. The drop of blood induced an immense reaction in her own blood, shot through her forehead, causing Evelynnʼs third eye to open as it became bloodshot!

========

Sometime later, Evelynn opened her eyes. She raised her two hands and saw that there were not much of external changes in her fey body. However, she could sense her blood had become purer, indicative of her success in absorbing the Emperor-Tier Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnidʼs Blood Essence.

”Excellent! Take the spatial ring behind the vial. It contains an Essence Gathering Cultivation Manual, but I also added a Body Tempering Cultivation Manual for you since time has already been lost so much. Moreover, two thousand Peak-Level Spirit Stone Vein Sources are kept inside, so make good use of it.”

Evelynnʼs expression fell.

”What? Wasnʼt it just a hundred?”

”Recall the difficulty of inheriting my Emperor-Tier Blood. Itʼs not a simple feat, child. Normal immortal inheritances canʼt have so many resources, or rather… Well, forget it.”

Evelynn didnʼt know what to say, her mouth slightly agape in the wonder of obtaining so many Vein Sources. Suddenly, she became richer than her husband?

”Another reward is a palace that will protect you. Donʼt worry. Unless the other party is an immortal, they would be able to do nothing against you. But since you are already capable of protecting yourself from such mortal enemies, I guess that this reward is as good as useless.”

”No, I want it,” Evelynn demanded, thinking that it would be very useful in protecting her sisters.

”Very well. Iʼm glad you like it.”

The Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Immortal looked pleased as its eyes narrowed, including its vague third eye. However, its expression suddenly became curious.

”Sensing by your vitality, youʼre not a virgin, are you? You also said that your husband would kill me for harming you. Considering that you have immense faith and even a connection with him through your third eye, is he strong?”

Evelynn blinked, wondering what was with this personal question before she recalled Isabella was also recommended to marry into the Earth Dragon Clan. She thought of it and couldnʼt help but smirk with a condescending expression on her face.

”Extremely strong. He is a human, but his prowess can reach six levels above even at Peak-Level Ninth Stage.” Her voice was full of pride.

”Oh?” One of the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Immortalʼs eyes raised, ”He can already battle Immortals at that level. That is promising and reassuring. I know that you already understand this, but you must uphold one of my requests.”

”Of course.” Evelynn acquiesced, ”I will display gratitude and return the favor many times over when I get stronger, so what is your request?”

”Iʼm not interested in sending you to be a gruesome competition or anything of that sort. I just want you to protect my clan if it still exists. Even if there is only a single survivor, you must protect them with all your heart. You cannot let my clan become extinct, or else I wonʼt be able to face my parents and ancestors in the afterlife.”

Evelynnʼs gaze shook.

She didnʼt expect such emotion from the vile, exploiting, and cold-hearted Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid to say such a thing that it seemed like it was Misteltae who was twisted and full of malice and not every Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid.

She nodded her head, ”I accept.”

”Iʼve already failed to protect my clan, and thatʼs why Iʼm here. Come face the Immortal Grade Trial soon, and Iʼll entrust you with all my hope. I know you will not disappoint me, child.”

Evelynn stood up and clasped her hands, bowing slightly before turning around and leaving while hearing the remnant soulʼs voice. However, she suddenly stopped and asked for something, to which the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Immortal acquiesced.

Sometime later, its gaseous image dissipated after Evelynn exited the hall and returned outside.
