Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 1312 - Was Never Easy

Davis quickly calmed down as he came to know that there was no use getting agitated to know the way to save Tia. He pursed his lips before asking.

”By heavenly tribulation, what do you mean? What kind of heavenly tribulation is it?”

”... I donʼt know.”

Davis nodded his head, thinking that Aureliusʼs knowledge was just that much about the Karmic Guardian Physique. Nevertheless, he had learned many things that he didnʼt know before, so he mused that letting this piece of shit live in a mindless manner had been worth it.

Whatʼs more, Aurelius had a lot of techniques that used Karma Laws, so it could be said that he became both useful to him and Tiaʼs future as she was someone who would learn Karma Laws.

He had yet to see what kind of Karmic Techniques there were and what other resources were in the spatial ring, but that can be seen later since it all belonged to him now.

”Davis, could it be that I donʼt possess this Fate Discarnate Soul but the Karmic Guardian Physique?” Tina Roxley doubtfully asked at this moment.

Both she and Brandis Mercer heard the conversation, after all.

Davis shook his head, ”No, it belongs to... someone else.”

He almost leaked it due to the strange emotions that made him want to tell the truth, but he endured, feeling like he was getting used to it unless Tina Roxley came at him with deep emotions filling her face.

”I see...” Tina Roxley nodded her head, truly believing his words, but she then smiled.

”But to make you feel agitated like this, it must be a woman...”

Davisʼs lips twitched turned to look at her, watching her light smile that appeared gentle. Those pretty amethyst eyes made him feel unusual in his heart.

”I suggest keeping this bastard locked up in eternal closed-door cultivation until we can kill him. What do you say?” He asked as he returned his gaze to Aurelius, avoiding looking at her.

”I agree, but where...?” Tina Roxley looked confused.

Davis pondered for a bit before his lips moved.

”Does the Heaven Gazing Sect require you to return sometime later?”

”... Yes.”

”...!” Davis narrowed his eyes, again feeling like time was pressing against him.

”When exactly...?”

”... Forty years later.”

”About that... I think he said something about how the Heaven Gazing Sect lets its disciples wander around the world, only requiring them to show their faces once every fifty years in the main sect...”

”I see...” Davis nodded his head on hearing Brandis Mercerʼs words, ”So itʼs already been ten years since he left. Then it is absolutely safe to keep him locked up in this palace in closed-door cultivation for forty long years unless youʼre going somewhere else...”

Davis felt even ten years were enough for him to take care of the Heaven Gazing Sect. There was no need to speak about forty years as it was a long time for him.

”I think we should leave...”

Brandis Mercer spoke up again.

”Even after Aurelius became mindless, there are still those young masters and old fogies who are bent on pursuing Tina. I think they would not stop just because they donʼt receive word from Aurelius anymore. Wait, Aurelius wouldnʼt absolutely let other people know that he is doing something wrong as he would not want people to have evidence of his wrongdoing, so that means he remained anonymous while commanding them to harass Tina Roxley.”

”It makes sense...” Tina Roxley agreed, ” Otherwise, I wouldʼve already found out as I captured a brute who tried to corner me in an alleyway when I went shopping for materials, but I made him miserable and had him confess who made them do this, but all he kept saying was that he didnʼt know before I burned him to death...”

”...” Brandis Mercer looked at his daughterʼs unknown and merciless side.

”Whyʼd you enter an alleyway when you were shopping...?” Davis frowned.

It was common sense that one might be targeted where there are fewer people around, especially in an alleyway where there would be little to no people.

Tina Roxley blushed and looked hesitant but still spoke, ” I was unable to help myself... because thatʼs where weʼre supposed to hold hands for the first time...”

She shot out her tongue in embarrassment.

Davis inwardly cried on hearing her wishes, feeling that he shouldnʼt have asked as it just made him feel complicated for the nth time, again and again. He imagined that it would become better if he left her place, but he also couldnʼt bear to leave her just like this, and perhaps thatʼs why he gave all those spirit stones to her.

”You two can come to the Alstreim Family...” Before Davis knew it, these words already came out of his mouth.

He inwardly sighed and added, ”If you two want to, that is...”

Tina Roxleyʼs eyes shone as she deeply smiled, ”Are you staying in the Alstreim Family?”

Davis paused before he nodded his head.

”The Thousand Pill Palace has many branches there...” Brandis Mercer nodded his head, ”I think we can move to one of them-”

”No, weʼre going to the Alstreim Family, father...” Tina Roxley cast her puppy eyes at him, causing him to reluctantly nod his head while he also felt that it could be a trap, although it was unlikely.

Did a Soul King who easily enslaved a Mystic Diviner need to go as far as to take them back to his home before killing or trapping them? Highly unlikely unless there was another motive in Davisʼs mind.

”Donʼt worry... I wonʼt ever disturb you unless you come to see me of your own volition...!” Tina Roxley assured him as she looked eager.

Davis nodded his head, but she instantly reacted.

”But thereʼs a condition...!”

Davis frowned, ”What...?”

”I should be able to at least see you once for half a year as I wait...” Tina Roxley shook her hands, ”Ah, you donʼt need to accept this... Iʼll just be persistent in-”

Davis visibly sighed in front of her as if sighing in exasperation, ”Why do all this when it is clear to you that Iʼm trying to avoid you?”

”Youʼre a powerful man...” Tina Roxley appeared confused, ”It is I who must pursue and not give up in managing to catch your attention... Otherwise, it wouldnʼt make sense, but I would love it if you were to pursue me as I would instantly-”

”Enough...” Davis raised his hand as he stopped her, ”Youʼre just influencing me more and more that I feel like that I want to take you home, wed and bed you right now...”

Tina Roxley became stunned as the smile on her face froze while Brandis Mercer understood nothing as his wry expression froze as well.

”Thatʼs why I said I need some time as I canʼt allow these unnatural emotions to run rampant in me. If possible, I would even like to erase these emotions and look at you in a new light and form an acquaintance with you, starting from the beginning, but I canʼt. Do you want me to love you with these ʼfakeʼ feelings that I have for you?”

Tina Roxleyʼs heart shook as she shook her head, ”... No... I want you to genuinely love me...”

”See...” Davis smiled as he relaxed, ”We have the same taste in how we want our partner to feel towards us. I donʼt want to hide anything from you as I can feel that your love towards me is sincere. So until I find the source of these unnatural emotions that I have for you, I donʼt think I can truly love you as I would always have the doubt that...”

”Do I really love Tina Roxley..?”

Tina Roxley trembled as she heard his words and lowered her head. Silence filled the surroundings. A while later, she raised her head and nodded.

”I already said that I would wait, but every half a year, I will come to see you. Whether you allow me to see you or not is something I donʼt dare to think about, but I will remain persistent!”

Davisʼs heart shook as he heard her resolve. It was extremely difficult for him to not embrace and console her that he loves her with these unnatural feelings screaming inside him. However, he endured.

For all he knew, these emotions could be from someone else, or even from himself! No matter what it may be, he wanted to find the source and erase it so that he could normally interact with Tina Roxley. He could take her right now, but that just didnʼt feel right with him.

If he made love with her, was he the one m.a.k.i.n.g. .l.o.v.e, or would it be another person using his body?

His body couldnʼt stop trembling from just the thought of it. As long as he didnʼt know the source, he could never know whose feelings these truly are!

”You can see me, just like how you tried to forcefully see my face...” Davis couldnʼt help but wryly answer.

Tina Roxley blinked before she smiled, ”I see that Elder Seylas spilled you with everything about me, but why didnʼt he contact me and said that you had come back? I had even given him a messaging talisman...” She pouted.

”That was because I threatened him with his life, and he obediently listened...” Davis deeply smiled.

”Seylas...” Tina Roxley uttered with a bit of anger.

If Seylas had told her that Alchemist Scythe had returned, she wouldʼve left to search for Alchemist Scythe without any delay!

All this while, she had thought that she wouldnʼt meet Alchemist Scythe while remaining hopeful that he would one day come to meet her of his own volition like a prince riding on a dragon, so the happiness that she had felt when she knew that this person was Alchemist Scythe was inexplicably rapturous.

And now, she felt that she had made considerable progress in her quest to find him as she had even received his approval to stay near him!

”Nevertheless, I look forward to meeting your beloved wives...” Tina Roxley gently smiled.

Davisʼs expression froze before he wryly smiled, hoping that she wouldnʼt start a crusade against him in his family.

”Fine, have it your way but donʼt cause too much trouble...” He felt that he could not really go against her before he looked at Aurelius.

”Go seclude yourself in your room after you announce that you decided to enter closed-door cultivation for decades. Every ten minutes, slap yourself really hard, every hour, smash your balls with your fists, and every twenty-four hours, suck your own... feet.” Davis was about to say something else but decided not to as there was a lady beside him.

Brandis Mercer understood that slight pause, but he didnʼt comment on it as he saw Aurelius mindlessly open his mouth.

”... I understand.”

Aurelius then left while Davis looked at them and waved his hand, ”See you two, ah, you three at the Grand Alstreim City...”

He disappeared from their view, causing them to blink while Tina Roxley became happy that he remembered her little sister.

”Tina, are you sure of your decisions...?” Brandis Mercer wryly asked.

”Decisions?” Tina Roxley shook her head as she kept her smile, ”I had decided that if I ever met him again, I would never lose the opportunity to interact with him like I lost in the Xuan City! If I donʼt go, I will be truly hopeless by then as this is the life I have decided for myself!”

”Thatʼs a difficult path youʼve chosen considering that he already has numerous women who could please him to his heartʼs content...” Brandis Mercer couldnʼt help but comment.

Tina Roxley resplendently smiled at this moment as she looked at him, ”Father, my life was never easy in the first place...”

Brandis Mercerʼs expression froze as he recalled the life that Tina Roxley had lived through, crossing past adversaries like her wicked family, her vile father, and grandfather, all the while protecting her little sister. She crossed through all that before reaching here, all in the hope that she finds that single man one fateful day!

His heart shook at her determination as he smiled, ”Iʼm proud of you, my daughter...”

Tina Roxleyʼs body trembled before she shed two tears as she smiled, ”I am only here because of father. I will never forget the undeserved care and concern you have shown towards me, father.”

Brandis Mercerʼs eyes teared up as he looked away, ”Get your little sister. Weʼre leaving after we rent this whole palace all in Aureliusʼ name for the upcoming fifty years!”

”Yes...!” Tina Roxleyʼs eyes shone with expectations as they left the place.
