Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 1310 - Collecting...?

Davis could do nothing but stay rooted while Tina Roxley held him as she cried. He felt deep hatred as well as extreme disgust for Aurelius.

It was just so much easier for them to kill this mindless slave, but the consequences that would come after that was just plainly something beyond their cultivation bases.

Surely, the Heaven Gazing Sect had the life tablet of Aurelius, and the moment his death is confirmed, they would send out the punitive force Tina Roxley warned him about. Even she who warned him was unable to suppress her killing intent at that moment and struck without hesitation.

Nevertheless, Davis doubted if he could avoid the Heaven Gazing Sectʼs pursuit unless he ran away to the sealed space inside the Lightning Sea! However, by then, it would be many years before he could resurface in the world, and that was a mistake he couldnʼt afford to make.

He stayed his hand and trembled as he felt that he should now console Tina Roxley but didnʼt act on these thoughts generated from foreign emotions, so he could only stay rooted.

It was a while, around four minutes, before Tina Roxley separated from him after crying out loud, becoming slowly desensitized to feeling miserable. She separated from him, her eyes looking a bit swollen and sorrowful from being deeply hurt.

”...!”

At this moment, Davis wrapped his arms around her and brought her into his embrace, c.a.r.e.s.sing her head three times before he let her go, and only then did he feel relieved amidst his confused emotions. However, that let Tina Roxley feel tremendously satisfied that most of her sadness disappeared from her heart as if it were healed.

Davisʼs expression was complicated as he looked at her light and gentle smile. In the end, he was unable to endure consoling her.

”Thank you... I feel much better...” Tina Roxley uttered as she wiped the tears off her face with her sleeves.

However, her expression froze as she noticed that she had made a mess on his right shoulder, but before she could even apologize, she saw Davis wave his hand before the mess she made disappeared as if it were never there.

”Donʼt mention it... It was just those strange feelings I mentioned compelling me to comfort you...” Davis uttered with a bit of reluctance.

Tina Roxley smiled deeply, feeling like her heart was filled with tenderness and affection towards him. There was no way an old monster would look this cute in her eyes.

Davis no longer bothered and turned to look at Aurelius.

”When you were in the Tripartite Alliance Territory, what were you tasked to do by the Tripartite Alliance?”

”... I was not tasked... I was hired to track and find two women, one of them possessing white hair while the other possessed red hair. Their facial features were hidden by the veil they wore, but I was hired to track them through the undulations they had left in the Desolate Plains.”

Davisʼs eyes narrowed, ”What was the result?”

”... They easily escaped towards the Falling Snow Sect and disappeared... but I still received my payment.”

The stiff Davis heaved a sigh of relief, feeling fortunate that Ellia was there; no, her other incarnation was there with them. He could tell that she was the reason that Ellia and Shirley managed to escape without being caught by a Mystic Diviner.

After all, was it easy to escape from a Mystic Diviner who uses three laws and the mystic arts of heaven and earth to locate someone by using a medium?

Fortunately, even though Elliaʼs and Shirleyʼs undulations were preserved for further usage to track, Elliaʼs other incarnation had likely used some other mystic art to block Aureliusʼs tracking art, making them efficiently manage to escape without worrying about another pursuit.

Nevertheless...

”Do you know anything about their origins...?” Davis narrowed his eyes as he asked.

”... No.” Aurelius indifferently answered.

Davis became relaxed again. Fortunately, it looks like the news of aboriginals escaping was ultimately suppressed within the Tripartite Alliance and the three powers. Only the big shots probably knew about this matter.

Therefore, the path back home was without danger as the three powers posed no threat, not the Falling Snow Sect, not the Alstreim Family, but only the Towering Cloud Hall should be taken care of.

ʼThatʼs right... I must remove that overbearing power, or else it would be a hindrance to the alliance between the Falling Snow Sect and the Alstreim Family as it is capable of blocking the path in the middle... Not to mention that it would end up separating the two powers when they are both in dire need of each other...ʼ

Davis thought, but a voice suddenly echoed.

”White-haired woman and red-haired woman...” Tina Roxley appeared contemplative, ”Are these two women the friends you mentioned...?”

”Yes, one of them might even become one of my wives, you know, although Iʼm not too sure...” Davis intended to tease, but he then said the truth, making him feel exasperated again inwardly.

”Oh... White-haired woman, red-haired woman, and that purple-haired woman...” Tina Roxley adorably blinked her amethyst eyes, ”Davis... are you sure that you are not acc.u.mulating women based on their different hair colors...?”

Davisʼs expression froze.

His mouth went agape as he wanted to deny but then realized that she was surprisingly humorous at this point in time where she should still be a bit sad. Perhaps, she was hiding her sadness through this method, and when he thought of it, she was already used to these kinds of matters after killing her father.

ʼWhat a strong woman...ʼ

Somehow, that made him feel extremely sorry for her, making him think that he was the one who shouldʼve killed that vile bastard of a father.

Nevertheless, he raised one of his brows as a smile appeared on his face.

”You are right... I already have a black-haired woman, so I think I donʼt want you anymore.”

”Ahh...! I was just kidding...!” Tina Roxley panicked as she shook her hands.

”What? Only you are allowed to be humorous?”

Davis smiled deeply as Tina Roxley shyly smiled, realizing she had been duped, but then his expression became sorrowful as he closed his eyes, realizing that he was now flirting with her as though he was truly close with her.

”Whatʼs wrong...?” Tina Roxley noticed his expression.

”Nothingʼs wrong. Do you two have anything else to ask this vile person?” Davis asked before he turned to look at Brandis Mercer.

They both shook their heads, looking indifferent as they hid their sorrow when they should still feel betrayed.

Davis nodded his head before he ordered while looking at Aurelius.

”Give me all the items you have in the highest grade spatial ring, excluding the ones that have tracking embedded in them.”

”... Yes.”

Aurelius began to organize while Davis looked at the two of them.

”Iʼll be taking all his wealth. Do you two need a part of it?”

Tina Roxley and Brandis Mercer both simultaneously shook their heads. Davis simply looked at their expressions before Aurelius arrived before him, respectfully giving him a spatial ring.

Davis took it from him with a flick of his hand before he saw the contents. The first thing that he decided to search for was the number of Spirit Stones, and he could see that it was a sizable amount of ten thousand Peak-Level Spirit Stones and a large quantity of High-Level Spirit Stones!

He wryly chuckled, once again feeling that looting was a lucrative career in the cultivation world.

He instantly transferred all those wealth to a new spatial ring and pulled Tina Roxleyʼs hand as he placed it on her delicate palm.

”Take this...”

”Wait! I donʼt want his wealth anymore...!” Tina Roxley looked disgusted at the spatial ring.

She felt that if she took it after knowing all about his deeds, then she was no different than this mindless slave!

Davis raised his brows, ”Who said that it was his wealth? Itʼs mine now...”

Tina Roxley became stunned.

”And if youʼre going to wait for me, then you need a sizable amount of wealth to protect yourself. I donʼt want to see you anymore, but I also want to not see you die. This is something I donʼt understand myself, so until I understand, you promised to wait...” Davis expressed his complicated feelings.

”I did...” Tina Roxley bit her lips as they quivered, ”And I adhere to my words...”

”Pushing my complicated feelings aside...” Davis wryly smiled, ”Iʼm making you suffer even after all you went through, right?”

”No, you saved me just as the divination foretold...” Tina Roxleyʼs eyes shone in a tender light before she looked towards Aurelius, cold light gleaming in her amethyst pupils, ”Except, you saved me from the diviner himself...”

Davis gawked at her thoughts. He didnʼt know if she truly thought about him that way, but he sighed and looked towards Aurelius, thinking how he should dispose of him before moving on to check the other contents of the spatial ring when suddenly he recalled.

ʼWait, isnʼt Tia also related to Mystic Diviners with her Karmic Guardian Physique...? Surely, this piece of shit must know more about Karmic Guardian Physique than what the Alstreim Family knows...ʼ

Davis felt that it was entirely likely, considering the shit ton of years Aurelius had lived as a Mystic Diviner and the amount of information he learned from the Heaven Gazing Sect!

Even if Aurelius doesnʼt, there was still another power that should possess it.

The All-Seeing Towers!

They might or very well hold information about the Karmic Guardian Physique, but Davis didnʼt go to learn from them because he also felt that it was right that Edgar Alstreim didnʼt choose to go to them to know more about it. After all, if people had a reason to ask something, even going as far as to pay for it, it meant that the matter of interest had spawned near them for them to become curious.

Obviously, the All-Seeing Towers would send secretive people to investigate if such a person with the Karmic Guardian Physique had been born in the Alstreim Family or nearby regions after following Edgar Alstreim. Not many people were smart enough to realize this point that they end up selling their own golden chicken to the All-Seeing Towers.

Thatʼs why Davis always felt that anonymity was a must for collecting and obtaining severely important information!

”Tell me all you know about the Karmic Guardian Physique...”
