Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 1311 - Karmic Guardian Physique

Alstreim Familyʼs Grand Library.

In this place of immense knowledge, Davis in a corner sat as he compiled information and digested it. At the same time, his Solitary Soul Avatar dealt with Tina Roxleyʼs matter after those two Zlatans left.

He had already assured Ancestor Dian Alstreim that trouble was unlikely, and even if it came, it would only be directed at him instead of the Alstreim Family as he was the one who provoked the Zlatan Family in the name of the Dragon Queen Isabella, further explaining that all he had to do was announce to the world that the Dragon Queen would exit in around six months from her closed-door cultivation session.

Davis became satisfied with how Ancestor Dian Alstreim was accommodating his actions and listening to his words without getting caught up in unnecessary ego problems, even though he was a bit rude to him. He knew that he had earned enough achievements and cultivation base to be listened to, but still, he noticed all this and knew how to reciprocate when the time came.

It could be said that Ancestor Dian Alstreim invested in him, who is a high-risk high-return, and since he thought of himself as an ultimate performer, he would make sure to pay back with full interest!

At the moment when the Solitary Soul Avatar asked Aurelius about the Karmic Guardian Physique, Davis was also going over the contents regarding the Karmic Guardian Physique from the Grand Library. It was the same as what was said by Edgar Alstreim with a few extra points.

The Karmic Guardian Physique is a constitution that enables one to comprehend Karma Laws without even having the need to interact with people most of the time like other people who would like to comprehend Karma Laws. It was such a boon that cast heart demons over numerous Mystic Diviners, making them feel jealous of the host of such a physique.

It seemed like a self-improving physique that, with each Whisper of Fate Phenomenon the host experiences and successfully crosses, it improves rapidly and, in turn, allows the host to easily comprehend Karma Laws. As to how many times it could improve, there wasnʼt anything concrete written about it.

Some ancient records indirectly mentioned that it was three times, while others said it was four or five times.

It was all nonsensical, obviously with some fake records mixed in it. Nevertheless, since no one could perceive the truth, the counterfeit records werenʼt taken away but kept.

This meant Edgar Alstreimʼs information on Tiaʼs Karmic Guardian Physique Grade could also be wrong.

ʼThere shouldnʼt be much of a difference...ʼ Davis mused, ʼIf Tia does not have a Low-Level Emperor Grade Physique, then she should have a Peak-Level King Grade Physique or lower...ʼ

ʼNevertheless, this Karmic Guardian Physique keeps improving without any need for resources, almost as if the bind of the physique was released with every Whisper of Fate Phenomenon successfully crossed, so whatʼs the end result? This physique... Itʼs almost as if itʼs readying the host for something...ʼ

Davis contemplated as he finished reading the contents recorded in the Alstreim Family library.

It was minor and limited, mainly about what the people with those Karmic Guardian Physiques could do using Karma Laws, but it was understandable since the Alstreim Family had no need to collect many records of this other than basic records. After all, in their ninety thousand years of history, the Alstreim Family has never given birth to a Mystic Diviner, much less a person with the Karmic Guardian Physique.

Perhaps, they had given birth to someone with that physique, but before they could mature, they were all unable to cross their life-changing Whispers of Fate Phenomenon and ended up dead without other people even coming to know about it.

ʼThis is bad... There are only around less than seven or eight years left until Tia Alstreim, and her mother Lia Alstreim dies of an unknown cause...ʼ Davis felt that time was running out and that he had to do something about it.

He didnʼt want that cute little shy girl to die, nor did he want her mother to die. Therefore, he felt that he had to do something about it, but even he didnʼt know what he could do for her!

Tia was just a teenage girl who probably had only subconsciously comprehended Karma Laws, not really pondering much about it or not able to. Even though her physique allowed her to comprehend, her cultivation base was small, not really allowing her to comprehend in resonance with the heaven and earth energyʼs acknowledgment.

Perhaps, the moment she reached the Law Seed Stage is when her Karmic Guardian Physique would start to show its prowess! It could not be helped. After all, Karma Laws were Greater Laws, but it should still be possible for Tia to learn Karma Laws even now if she actively pondered it.

However, when he recalled how he saw her bouncing around the palace without a care in the world, it was apparent that she was enjoying her life.

Davis finished reading the records and was about to read records on Transcendent Truth Eyes, the unique constitution that his little sister Clara possessed. However, he stopped, knowing that he could question the Mystic Diviner and quickly get some answers he failed to get, and perhaps have a breakthrough in why Tia might possibly die in a few years.

Using his Solitary Soul Avatar, he asked and listened patiently when his expression suddenly froze!

”W-What...?”

=======

”Tell me all you know about the Karmic Guardian Physique...” Davis ordered Aurelius.

”... The Karmic Guardian Physique is a special constitution that allows...”

”...”

”...”

Aurelius went on and on about the things that Davis already knew, but there was some difference he came to know of as he listened.

”... The Whisper of Fate Phenomenon is what allows the host to know that they possess the Karmic Guardian Physique... This phenomenon foretells the importance of an event, person, or even a resource to their life, making it so that they have to find out what to do in order to cross it.”

”... It may or may not benefit them or someone close to them, but it is up to the host to figure that out... Once they do successfully cross it, the binds on their physiques become weakened as they then advance in grades.”

”... One Whisper of Fate Phenomenon indicates that their physique is in the Mortal Grade and successfully crossing it means that their physique has reached the Earth Grade... In the same way, crossing the second Whisper of Fate Phenomenon indicates that their physique has reached Sky Grade and so on and so forth until their Karmic Guardian Physique reaches Emperor Grade, where the host must have successfully crossed their fourth Whisper of Fate Phenomenon...”

”... Finally, when they experience the fifth Whisper of Fate Phenomenon and successfully cross it, they do not experience any increase in their grade, but their physique becomes awakened...”

”I see...” Davis uttered a word of comprehension.

Awakened... This was the word he had been looking for when he had earlier concluded that the Whisper of Fate Phenomenon was preparing Tia for something.

Edgar Alstreim told him that Tia was experiencing her fourth Whisper of Fate Phenomenon, but whether it was crossed or not remained something he didnʼt know unless he asked. Just when he thought that Aurelius had finished speaking, he continued.

”... When awakened, the Karmic Guardian Physique brings down heavenly tribulation upon the host...”

”!!!”

Aureliusʼs voice was indifferent as ever, but it made Davis feel a deep chill down his soul.

ʼH-Heavenly tribulation...!?ʼ

ʼIs that why Tia dies in less than eight years!?ʼ

Davis became utterly dumbfounded before he felt a deep chill again.

It now all made sense to him!

The moment she experienced her fifth Whisper of Fate Phenomenon and crossed it with his or someone elseʼs help, would she encounter a heavenly tribulation!

Before he could ask anything, Aurelius continued.

”... It is said that if the host of the Karmic Guardian Physique survives, their talent in Karma Laws will bloom, and their path to becoming a Mystic Diviner is certain as long as they donʼt die halfway.”

”Is there anyone who survived it...?” Davis blinked as his expression trembled.

”... It is said that the Sect Leader of the Heaven Gazing Sect possesses Peak-Level Emperor Grade Karmic Guardian Physique, along with two more Grand Elders who respectively have High-Level Emperor Grade Karmic Guardian Physiques...”

Davis bitterly chuckled as he heard it.

Presumably, if Tia joins the Heaven Gazing Sect, she would either be given the most care in the entire sect or killed to make sure that she doesnʼt infringe upon certain peopleʼs benefits. However, would the Heaven Gazing Sect go too far?

Davis can never know as people are sometimes truly unfathomable, hiding their real faces unless they encounter something that can flip their life upside down. For example, Tiaʼs presence in the Heaven Gazing Sect would disrupt many peopleʼs path to the top, and one perfect example of such a person stood in front of him, Aurelius, who only barred his claws after a misunderstanding that Tina Roxley had the Fate Discarnate Soul that could take him to the apex!

”Do they experience the Whisper of Fate Phenomenon anymore after they have awakened their Karmic Guardian Physique?”

”... Yes.”

”How does it differ from the previous Whisper of Fate Phenomenon, or is it the same? Does the Physique still improve after it awakens?” Davis asked three questions while he looked a bit agitated.

”... Yes, it is said to be the same. However, it does not improve the physique anymore as unique resources that relate to Karma Laws are required...”

”What kind of resources!?”

”... I donʼt know.”

Davis looked like he had been splashed by a cold bucket of water right on his face from Aureliusʼs answer that he was jolted out of his agitated emotions.
