Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 133: Silent Comfort

Zhang Yide nodded and ceased discussing the matter. Instead, he asked Ye Fei, ”Clan Leader, how do you think we should handle the funeral arrangements for the former clan leader?”

Ye Fei pondered for a while and then sighed, saying, ”Letʼs wait until my aunt comes and discuss it with her.” He had initially thought of concealing this matter from Xu Shuyun and Ye Jing for the time being. However, this idea flashed through his mind only briefly before he dismissed it.

After all, thereʼs no such thing as a secret that canʼt be leaked. Sooner or later, they would have to know.

Moreover, the Ye family was so prominent that the news of the previous clan leaderʼs death simply couldnʼt be hidden. Perhaps it would be exposed in the newspapers tomorrow. It would be even worse if they learned about it then.

Zhang Yide also sighed and said, ”I really donʼt know if the two of them can bear this blow. Ye Fei, you must comfort them well.” At this moment, Zhang Yide was no longer a senior member of the Lingyun Club but an elder figure to Ye Fei.

When it came to this, Ye Fei was also a bit worried. He truly didnʼt know how to break the news to them later.

This made his hatred for Ye Yu even deeper. He stared at Ye Yuʼs corpse for a long time but finally sighed and waved his hand, saying, ”Forget it. Dispose of this bastardʼs body. Thereʼs no need to report it to the police. Just assume heʼs missing.”

He did this because he wanted to keep Ye Yuʼs rebellion a secret. Although Ye Lingtian had done many wrong things in the past two years, Ye Fei still didnʼt want him to be laughed at as a poor judge of character even after his death.

”Um...” Zhang Yide couldnʼt help but hesitate. If they handled it this way, it might have some impact on Ye Feiʼs reputation. Inevitably, some people would later suspect that he had killed his uncle and brother to seize the Ye family.

In his opinion, Ye Yuʼs deeds should be widely publicized, which would also be beneficial for Ye Fei to control the Lingyun Club in the future.

Ye Fei understood Zhang Yideʼs concerns and smiled faintly, saying, ”Just handle it like this. The truth will prevail. Let others say whatever they want.”

”Yes, Clan Leader!” Zhang Yide replied loudly. He was very happy in his heart.

Although it was just a simple sentence, from Ye Fei, he actually saw the kind of pride and arrogance that the old master Ye had in his prime, something that neither Ye Lingyun nor Ye Lingtian had achieved. Unexpectedly, Ye Fei, at such a young age, already had such bearing. It seemed that the Ye family truly had a worthy successor.

After the gang members took away Ye Yuʼs body, Ye Fei and Zhang Yide carried Ye Lingtianʼs body to the study and then sat together in the living room.

”Ye Fei, donʼt be too sad. As long as you manage the Lingyun Club well, I believe your uncle and your father in heaven will be very happy.”

Seeing that Ye Fei didnʼt look well, Zhang Yide comforted him again. Now that there were no outsiders present, he spoke much more casually.

”Thank you, Grandpa Zhang.” Ye Fei forced a bitter smile. ”Iʼm okay. Iʼm just thinking about how to tell Auntie and Xiaojing later.”

When it came to this, Zhang Yide also had no good solution. The two fell silent for a while, and the atmosphere in the living room became rather solemn.

By this time, it was already noon. After a short while, Ye Jing and Xu Shuyun returned together. Seeing that Ye Fei was still at home and Zhang Yide was also there, Ye Jing was extremely happy.

She quickly ran to them and smiled, saying, ”Grandpa Zhang, brother, youʼre both here. Thatʼs great.”

Zhang Yide had doted on them since they were young. And children of Ye Fei and Ye Jingʼs age had little impression of their biological grandfather.

In their hearts, Zhang Yide was like their own grandfather. Especially Ye Jing, who had been very fond of pestering Zhang Yide since she was a child. Unfortunately, after she grew up, Zhang Yide rarely came to their home. Seeing him now, how could she not be happy?

However, Xu Shuyun didnʼt think as simply as Ye Jing. Zhang Yide had rarely come to the house in recent years unless there were major matters.

And both he and Ye Fei looked rather downcast. She couldnʼt help but ask worriedly, ”Uncle Zhang, is something wrong?”

Zhang Yide opened his mouth but didnʼt say anything. He sighed and said, ”Ye Fei, you tell them. Iʼll go deal with some club matters first.” Without waiting for Ye Fei to respond, he left in a hurry. He really couldnʼt bear to see Xu Shuyunʼs expression after she learned the tragic news.

Ye Fei watched Zhang Yide leave speechlessly. He himself didnʼt know how to start. Seeing Ye Fei like this, Xu Shuyun became even more worried. She grabbed Ye Feiʼs hand and urgently asked, ”Ye Fei, what on earth has happened? Can you tell Auntie?”

”Auntie, my uncle he...” Under Xu Shuyunʼs persistent questioning, Ye Fei finally started to speak, but he couldnʼt continue after only half - saying it. Tears welled up in his eyes.

Seeing Ye Feiʼs appearance, Xu Shuyun had a bad premonition. Her face turned a bit pale, and she asked in a trembling voice, ”What happened to him?”

”Yeah, brother, what happened to my dad?” Ye Jing also asked beside them. Although her father had treated her badly in the past year or so, the bond of father - daughter was deep. How could she not worry about her father?

”Come with me.” Ye Fei sighed. Finally, he still couldnʼt say it out loud and took the lead into the study. The two women quickly followed.

Entering the study, the first thing the three of them saw was Ye Lingtianʼs body lying on the small bed in the study. His lifeless face and the bloodstains at the corners of his mouth clearly told the two women what had happened.

Xu Shuyun slowly walked to the bed and sat down. She reached out to gently caress Ye Lingtianʼs already cold face. Her eyes were a bit dazed, and she murmured, ”What on earth happened?” Meanwhile, Ye Jing had already burst into tears.

”It was Ye Yu!” Ye Fei said hatefully, uttering the name of the dead man who still couldnʼt relieve his hatred. Then he told the two women everything, including the fact that Ye Yu had poisoned Ye Lingtian.

After listening to Ye Feiʼs account, Xu Shuyun could no longer hold back her inner grief. She lay on Ye Lingtianʼs body and burst into loud sobs. Ye Jing was crying her heart out.

Looking at the two women who were weeping bitterly, Ye Fei didnʼt know how to comfort them. He could only stand silently behind them, shedding tears with them. However, he felt a sense of relief in his heart. As long as Xu Shuyun could cry it out, it was fine. He had been worried that she couldnʼt bear the blow before. It was actually quite good for her to vent her emotions through crying.

Not until the two women were too tired to cry did Ye Fei lead them to the sofa. He put his arms around them, one on each side, and comforted them softly.

Xu Shuyun leaned her head on Ye Feiʼs shoulder, while Ye Jing hugged Ye Feiʼs body tightly. At this moment, they were extremely helpless in their hearts, and Ye Fei was their only support.
