New Age Of Summoners

Chapter 1829  Life Burning

”Since our both Divine Rules have more or less the same awakening percentage, you wonʼt look down on me anymore, right?”

Once Alder used his Divine Devour Ruleʼs special skill to rapidly burn the Energy Orbs in his body to increase the awakening percentage of his Divine Rule, he asked the Second Brother with a scoff.

Previously, it was the Second Brother who was scoffing at Alder; however, now, it has changed.

ʼT-this… how… is….this possible?ʼ

On the other hand, the Second Brother was shocked to see how easily Alder was able to increase the awakening percentage of his Divine Rule.

ʼNo…I canʼt fight him. I have to escape from here.ʼ

This was the first thought that came to the Second Brotherʼs head.

Even after the death of his First Brother and other brothers, the Second Brother was still confident in killing Alder and Ajax; however, now, there was no confidence in the Second Brother.

The only thing that the Second Brother wanted to do right now was to escape.

Even though he respected the First Brother and cared for the younger brothers a lot, when it came to his life and death, the Second Brother was clear about his priorities and preferences.

ʼNothing is above his life.ʼ

This was what the Second Brother believed and as for the revenge, as long as he was alive, the Second Brother might think of taking the revenge.

However, deep down, the Second Brother knew that even if he was given enough time, he wouldnʼt be able to take revenge against Ajax and his contracted spirit beasts because they would be even more powerful by then.

So, the Second Brother didnʼt want to think much about revenge and decided to escape from there.

ʼSwooshʼ

”Where do you think you are going? Didnʼt you want to kill me and my master just a few moments back?”

However, how could Alder let the Second Brother escape so easily?

Moreover, Alderʼs speed was on the next level even without the Divine Wind Rule. Hence, in a flash, Alder flew to the Second Brother and blocked his escape route.

”Damn it.”

The Second Brother gritted his teeth as he knew that it would be quite difficult to escape from here.

Therefore, he decided to do the only thing that he could do,

[Divine Metal Rule - Life Burning]

ʼSwooshʼ

ʼSwooshʼ

As soon as he activated the special but forbidden skill connected to the Divine Metal Rule.

It was a forbidden skill because by using it, even though the Second Brother could temporarily increase the awakening percentage of his Divine Metal Rule, he had to burn his life.

Moreover, once his Divine Metal Rule gets deactivated, the awakening percentage of the Divine Metal Rule returns to normal.

It was a trump card that the Second Brother wanted to use only when it was a life-and-death situation for him.

And he was finally in the life and death situation where he had to use it.

ʼSwooshʼ

In the next second, the awakening percentage of the Second Brother rapidly increased from 10 percent to 15 percent. After that, it no longer increased.

”I have lost 1000 years of my lifespan by using this skill. I am going to kill you at any cost now…argh.”

The old man became furious because 1000 years of lifespan was a huge number even for him because he believed he could have increased the awakening percentage of his Divine Metal Rule by at least 20 percent in those 1000 years.

Moreover, he only had 3000 years of lifespan left before he activated the skill and now, it came down to 2000 years of lifespan.

ʼI was already becoming hopeless in ascending to the Heavenly Realm and now with the reduction of 1000 years from my lifespan, it would be impossible for me to ascend to the Heavenly Realm unless I encounter multiple Fortuitous Encounters.ʼ

With that thought in mind, the Second Brother furiously attacked Alder.

”Itʼs useless.”

However, on the other hand, Alder was calm and composed as he didnʼt even frown when he saw the Second Brother activating the forbidden skill.

”No matter how many trump cards you have, you are not going to defeat me today.”

Alder was already a proud beast and right now, when he was fully confident in his battle prowess, there was no way for him to hold back as he proudly said to the Second Brother.

[Critcal Talon]

With a simple slash with his talons, Alder was able to leave a huge slash on the Second Brotherʼs full-body metal armour.

”Even though you have a full body protective armour, it is useless in front of absolute power.”

[Feather Strike]

Before the Second Brother could react, the countless sharp feathers came at him and pierced through his armour.

ʼPuchiʼ

ʼClangʼ

ʼKachaʼ

Even though some of the sharp feathers were blocked by his armour, more than half of the sharp feathers were able to be easily pierced through it.

ʼThudʼ

The fight between Alder and the Second Brother was happening in mid-air and by receiving some many sharp feathers, the Second Brother lost his flying momentum and fell to the ground with a thud.

ʼSwooshʼ

”I have some questions for you. As long as you answer them, I can give you a quick death.”

Alder flew down and placed his talon on both hands of the Second Brother as he said those words.

”What? Do you think I am an idiot to give what you want even after knowing that I will die?”

The Second Brotherʼs body was covered in an armour that was full of sharp feathers as blood flowed out and covered the half-broken armour.

He knew that he could not win against the Devourer Eagle Emperor any more. So, the only thing that the Second Brother could do right now was not to answer Alderʼs questions.

”Is that so?”

Alder knew it wouldnʼt be an easy task to tame the Second Brother to get the answers that Ajax wanted to know. Hence, he prepared on how he could get the answers from him.

”Everyone, come here.”

Alder had already subdued the Second Brother where the Second Brother could not even move from his place, much less use any of his skills.

So, Alder called his ten subordinates.

”Itʼs time to peck…only use as little power as possible as we need him alive to get the answers.”

As soon as he gave the command, Alder and the ten Devourer Eagle Emperors started pecking at the Second Brother.

The Second Brotherʼs already punctured body was getting more and more holes in it. The pecks from the mid-level Devourer Eagle Emperors were not enough to kill the Second Brother because they were hardly doing any damage to the Second Brother.

However, those Devourer Eagle Emperors pecked in the spots where the Sharp Feathers left holes. So, they were pecking and drinking the Second Brotherʼs blood just like how a group of vultures do.

Of course, they were not vultures but more dangerous and cruel than those vultures.

ʼAargh…stop it….argh.ʼ

At first, the pain was almost negligible for the Second Brother; however as time passed by, the repeated pecking on his body made the Second Brother irritated and at the same time, he felt the pain was unbearable.

”I will speak…I will answer your questions. So, donʼt peck me anymore…please…kill me.”

As time passed by, the Second Brother eventually gave in and decided to answer Alderʼs questions.

….

A few moments back at another place,

ʼRoarʼ

A powerful dragon roar resounded in the location as Twilightʼs body transformed into a huge mountain.

”Just because you are big that doesnʼt mean you can defeat me.”

Looking at Twilight, the two old men scoffed at Twilight.

ʼBrother, it looks like he is becoming stronger as he continues to destroy the things around us.ʼ

ʼYeah…I noticed it too. Also, according to the Second Brother, this Dragonʼs Master has killed the First and Third Brother.ʼ

Even though they maintained a brave look on their faces, the old men were anxious.

They were not worried about the Dragon in front of them; instead, they were worried about the Dragonʼs Master who was capable of killing their First Brother.

Also, even though the Dragon in front of them had yet to activate the Divine Rule, they could tell that the Dragon had a Divine Rule.

Since the Dragon was able to fight them both at the same time without using the Divine Rule, they wanted to kill the Dragon before it could activate the Divine Rule.

ʼLetʼs use our strongest attacks and kill it in a single blow and escape from here.ʼ

Suddenly, one of the old men said something that made the other old man look at him with a face full of shock.

ʼWhat? You donʼt want the corpse of the Divine Dragon?ʼ

The old man asked the other one with a mocking smile.

ʼBut….what about the First Brother and the other brothers who died?ʼ

The Sixth Brother asked the Fifth Brother with a hesitant look.

ʼWhat? Donʼt tell me you are planning to take revenge on behalf of the brothers who died?ʼ

The Fifth Brother looked at the Sixth Brother for a moment before saying, ʼIdiot… wake up and think straight. The other party was so strong that he could kill the First Brother in less than two minutes and you want to take revenge on such a powerful cultivator?ʼ

ʼAlso, as long as we have this Divine Dragonʼs Corpse, we can become very strong in a short time and at that time, we donʼt need the First Brotherʼs help in controlling the Metal Region anymore.ʼ

The more the Fifth Brother spoke, the more excited he became as they joined their hands together to kill the Divine Dragon as soon as possible.
