New Age Of Summoners

Chapter 689: Primeval Ent, Skaros

While Ajax was busy increasing the essence of nature in his spirit consciousness to upgrade his main cultivation technique, all the other young cultivators were completely resting because after today, they would be undergoing special training and after that, they have to participate in the champions contest.

Even though everyone was excited, compared to others, Edmondʼs nine children were the most excited ones among all as they were waiting for a chance to show those so-called top powers what they were capable of.

....

In the depths of the cursed wilderness,

ʼHuh?ʼ

In an old cave, Geron finally opened his eyes and saw the stalactites which were protruding from the ceiling of the cave.

ʼWhere am I?ʼ

That was his first thought after waking up as he hurriedly looked at his surroundings.

ʼAarghʼ

He was too fast with the body movements that made him groan in pain from the earlier injuries which were just healed.

ʼI remember now. Big brother asked those three beast kings to go away and asked me to come into the cave; however, I donʼt know what happened after that,ʼ

Soon, he recalled what happened before he opened his eyes just a while before thinking, ʼI wonder how much time has passed after I passed out?ʼ

While thinking that, he continued to check his surroundings as though he wanted to find someone.

”You need to rest for some more time as your injuries are yet to heal,”

Just as he was checking his surroundings, he heard a familiar majestic voice from the depths of the cave.

ʼBig brother,ʼ

As soon as he heard the majestic voice, Geron hurriedly stood up and bowed in the direction from which the majestic voice had come from.

At the same time, he said, ”Thank you for saving me from those three spirit beast kings, big brother. Also, about your guardians….”

”I already said donʼt bother about it. I know what they were planning to take over my place after I die. However, those foolish guardians of mine were not patient enough and wanted to please that first spirit beast king under me,”

Just as the majestic voice came to an end, an almost dried up humanoid tree came from the depths of the cave.

ʼWhat?ʼ

When he saw the appearance of the king of the inner section of the crushed wilderness, Geron was shocked as he hurriedly asked, ”What happened to you, big brother?”

The last time he had seen him was a couple of years back and at that time, his head was covered with branches full of green leaves and the diameter of his trunk was around one meter.

However, currently, it was one-third of the original diameter and moreover, the branches on his head seemed like they could be broken with little to no effort at all.

”Sigh”

Hearing the question from Geron, the humanoid tree heaved a long sigh before saying, ”It is time...I have lived long enough that it is finally time for me to die.”

There was a sad look on his trunk as he came forward and as soon as he came near to Geron, two majestic chairs formed by the dried up vines in the old cave.

”Sit”

The humanoid tree sat in a majestic chair and pointed his left branch at the other majestic chair and asked Geron to sit.

”How is it possible?”

Geron didnʼt have time to sit as he was completely shocked by the humanoid treeʼs words.

”I will say but before that, you should sit,”

The King of the cursed wilderness asked Geron to sit once again and this time, Geron sat on the chair without saying anything.

”You know which race I belong to right?”

After Geron sat on the chair, the humanoid tree started with a question.

”Yes,” Geron nodded his head as he said, ”Primeval Ent.”

”Right! We, Primeval Ents are not powerful spirit beasts, to begin with. Just like you, how you mutated from the forest fairy butterfly, we, primeval ents are mutated from the trees that were first grown in this cursed wilderness,”

The humanoid tree started recalling his life and said to Geron, ”Unlike other spirit beasts, we grow powerful with time without doing anything. However, itʼs been more than a million years since I gained enlightenment that every spirit beast will die and even I have a time where I will die.”

”I informed my friends and family about it; however, no one believed me and replied me that their race is an immortal race who will live forever,”

”I tried in many ways but what I got was an exile of 10000 years from my home,”

”During those 10000 years, I started moving to various places and had fought with many other primeval race beings and continued to increase by strength.”

”By the time, I returned back to my race, everyone in my race became just like the current me,”

By the time he came to this point, the voice no longer sounded majestic; instead, the tone had a melancholy to it.

”At the point of time, they didnʼt even have a shred of cultivation and within the next 2-3 years everyone died except for me. From that day onwards, I started spending most of my time in cultivating, observing nature and gained my current strength; however, itʼs been so long that I am unable to break through to the next realm,”

Finally, the primeval ent stopped his explanation.

After hearing about the past life of the king of the inner section, Geron thought, ʼNo wonder, big brother became the king of the inner section.ʼ

”Big brother, do you know why I came here to meet you in the first place?”

Nevertheless, soon, he came out of his thoughts and asked the humanoid tree.

”Do you want any cultivation resources?”

The humanoid tree squinted his eyes as he replied to Geron with a question.

In primeval entʼs view, Geron was similar to him, who worked very hard and without any bloodline, he was able to become the strongest one and gained territory.

So, he had a good impression compared to the spirit beast kings under him who gained their strength because of their inborn strength, skill and bloodline.

”It was one of the reason but it wasnʼt the main reason,”

Geron nodded his head but at the same time shook his head.

”Then?”

The humanoid tree curiously asked wondering Geronʼs reason for visiting him despite the fact, there were many dangers for him.

”Because of this,”

With a proud look on his face, Geron took out the advanced essence pill from his space ring.

ʼHuh?ʼ Th..thisʼ

Even though the pill was very far away from the humanoid tree, his senses were very strong and he could feel all the dried up branches on his head were shaking non-stop as though they were eager.

”I hope, I will be helpful to you, big brother,”

Geron extended his hands and a dried up wooden branch extended towards him and took the pill.

”Take this ring and in it, there was many cultivation resources that could even help you along with your daughter and younger generation spirit beasts,”

As soon as he took the pill, Skaros tossed a space ring at him that made Geron excited.
