New Age Of Summoners

Chapter 638: Masked Draugr

After the incident of destroying the assassination circle, two days passed by in a jiffy.

The incident spread to all the corners of the Zrochester province and it became a hot topic for the cultivators all over the province.

”Who do you think destroyed the assassination circle?”

A group of cultivators in a tavern were also discussing the incident as one of the cultivators asked others about the perpetrator.

ʼSlapʼ

”Are you an idiot or what? Didnʼt you see the bounty placed on each and every corner of this town? Why are you asking such a silly question,”

However, the first reply he got was a slap on the back of his head and only then a cultivator answered him.

As soon as the sect leader Gerg returned to the assassin sect, as he promised to the four assassins, he announced a bounty for any information on the three people in the posters.

”Bastard...why are you hitting me? Do you think three people could destroy the assassination circle? Who are you kidding?”

The cultivator who was slapped became angry as retorted back at the cultivator that hit him earlier as he whispered, ʼI think, one of the sects or even the royal family must be the true mastermind behind the destruction of the assassination circle.ʼ

ʼThinking about it, the other powers didnʼt like that thing from the start. Maybe it is possible,ʼ

ʼRight right,ʼ

Soon everyone agreed to his words in whispers.

The other powers in the Zrochester province didnʼt like that kind of organisation despite the fact the assassin sect said that it would not accept any assassin missions related to the top powers.

How could they trust the assassin sect on their word?

As long as they provide enough money they could kill one of their own.

In the end, the rumour of all the top powers (excluding the assassin sect) destroyed the assassination circle circulated from one place to another and spread all over the province.

ʼI think he started a little early. He is still too weak to travel to that place,ʼ

At one corner of that tavern, a masked old man in black robes muttered to himself in a low voice before leaving that place.

...

In Ajaxʼs room,

ʼUaauʼ

Ajax woke up from his sleep with an excited look on his face because there were two important events today.

One, he had to go and meet with Keshe to ask her whether she found anything about the whereabouts of his friends or not.

Two, the disciple-selection ceremony by the six vagrant cultivators.

ʼI should go and meet up with big sister Keshe as I still didnʼt know how long the selection of? the vagrant cultivators will take,ʼ

Ajax silently thought to meet Keshe first and came out of his bed to fresh up.

ʼTap tapʼ

Just as he took two steps, someone tapped on his door.

”Darbaudr, come in,”

He knew who it was and asked him to come in because he was the one who called him earlier to come to his room.

”Give them to me,”

As soon as the barbarian came into the room, Ajax asked him to give something.

”Here they are, young master,”

Darbaudr knew what he was talking about and took out two black-coloured statues from his storage ring.

They were none other than the assassin godʼs statues which were picked up by the barbarian from the assassination circle.

ʼLetʼs learn more about them,ʼ

Taking the one-meter black coloured statues into his hands, Ajax excited thought in his head as he used the system to know about them.

ʼDing,

Item name:- Assassin godʼs statue (12th one)

Type:-? Enchanted item.

Owner:- None

Effects:- As long as any dark elemental beings are sacrificed to it, it would give a temporary boost to the owner.

Note:- 1) More powerful the beings are, the more boost the owner would get.

2) More the number of beings, the more boost the owner would get.

More information:- In ancient time, a legendary assassin created 12 statues of himself and bestowed them different powers before leaving them to the other assassins of the Zrochester province. After that, he disappeared and no one knows where he went.

Soon, a holographic screen appeared in front of him displaying the complete information about one of the statues.

”Oh. So, this belonged to vice-chief,”

Thinking back to the time, when the vice-chief sacrificed all the assassins in the assassination circle to increase his cultivation from level 1 to level 5 elite general, Ajax shook his head before storing that statue into his inventory.

Ajax didnʼt have a tiny bit of interest in the items that require sacrifice to gain a temporary boost. So, he didnʼt bother to claim ownership of it.

ʼNext, you,ʼ

After storing the first statue, he focused on the statue that belonged to the chief of the assassination circle.

ʼDing,

Item name:- Assassin godʼs statue (11th one)

Type:-? Enchanted item.

Owner:- None

Effect:- The owner has to store his essence of nature inside the statue and when he activates the statueʼs power, the owner will transform into a ʼMasked Draugrʼ which excels in speed.

Note:- 1) The more essence of nature stored inside the statue gives more speed to the owner.

ʼHuh? Masked Draugr?ʼ

Looking at the holographic screen, Ajax raised his brows and tried to remember the creatures called Masked Draugr.

ʼThatʼs right! They are the undead creatures but from when did they excel in speed?ʼ

Ajax heard about the ʼMasked Draugrʼ from the stories of Elder Boron; however, what he remembered was that these creatures were not very fast.

ʼDing,

The host is wrong about the ʼMasked Draugrʼsʼ. Common Draugrʼs donʼt have much speed; however the ʼMasked Draugrʼsʼ are the mutated Draugrs that excel in speed.

The system explained to him the difference between the common Draugrs and the Masked Draugrs.

”Okay okay,”

Ajax nodded his head as he threw the second assassin statute into the inventory.

As for becoming the owner of the statue, it never crossed his mind.

”Young master, Captain Edmond said that we have to leave tonight to the mercenary guild for the disciple selection ceremony,”

Just as he stored the second assassin godʼs statue, the barbarian informed Ajax.

”Oh. Nice nice,”

Ajax nodded his head as he felt it was the perfect timing for him and said ʼNiceʼ two times in a row.

”If you want to come to the cursed wilderness with me, then stay here; otherwise, you can go back to your room and cultivate,”

Ajax said to Darbaudr who was standing still without saying anything.

”It is very risky for you to go alone, young master. I will accompany you,”

After the assassin attempt on Ajax two days ago, the barbarian didnʼt want to take any risk by leaving Ajaxʼs side. So, he said with a serious look on his face.

”Haha...okay then. I will go and fresh up,”

Soon, Ajax went to fresh up.

”Lucas and Niklas, we are going out,”

While Ajax was gone to freshen up, the barbarian walked towards the eagle brothersʼ room and called them before informing them about the journey.

”We are always ready to go out with the young master,”

Both the eagles were excited and readily agreed to a trip to the cursed wilderness,
