Chapter 46: Unlocking A New Feature

After the managers had left, Steward Han turned to Xue Ya’er and asked, ”Madam, you have made so many preparations. But, what if Young Master Lei is not coming?”

Xue Ya’er sipped her tea before she replied, ”He will come.”

Even though Steward Han didn’t understand how she could be so sure, he didn’t ask any more questions and went to handle the matters entrusted to him by the Madam.

While the big shots were planning their next moves from behind the scenes, Yao Zhi was currently busy picking pine mushrooms in the mountain forest.

Although she wanted to go deeper into the mountain, she didn’t dare to bet on her luck. What if she met wild animals and got eaten?

Therefore, she only dared to search for mushrooms and medicinal herbs around the border of the mountain forest.

Since entering the forest, she had already gathered 5 baskets of oyster mushrooms, 3 baskets of snow fungus, 4 baskets of Lion’s Mane mushrooms, 3 baskets of black fungus, and 6 baskets of shiitake mushrooms.

At this moment, she had already gathered a total of 7 baskets of pine mushrooms. When she filled another basket of mushrooms, she put them in her system storage and stood up.

Feeling sore and tired, she took out a waterskin from her system storage and took several large gulps.

While the farmland water was not as magical as the spiritual spring water, it still had slight healing properties. After she drank some water, she felt better and regained some of her energy.

Raising her head, she noticed the bright sunlight penetrating through the dense canopy. Taking out her watch from the system storage, Yao Zhi saw that it was already two o’clock in the afternoon.

She put back the watch and decided to find a place to have her lunch. This was the third time she had come to this mountain. Even though she only wandered around the outer area, she was not as unfamiliar as before.

After walking for half an hour, she reached an open area where she had found Lingzhi before. She looked around and decided to sit on top of a dead tree.

Opening her system shop, she chose the food section and browsed for a while. Since she was in the forest, she didn’t dare to eat food with strong scents in case she attracted wild beasts.

Five minutes later, she bought a pack of scallion flower rolls. The scallion flower rolls were a type of steamed bun brushed with oil, seasonings, and chopped scallions. The dough was then rolled and shaped into flowers. It was savory and delicious.

Besides the savory steamed buns, Yao Zhi also bought a pack of sweet steamed buns with red bean paste filling. Each pack contained a total of ten steamed buns and cost her four points in total.

She thought that the steamed buns would be hard and cold. Unexpectedly, after she took them out of her system storage, she noticed that the steamed buns were hot.

She tore open the package, took one scallion flower roll and one sweet steamed bun, and stored the rest in her system storage.

After lunch, she searched around the area, hoping to find more Lingzhi. Unfortunately, besides some common medicinal herbs, there was nothing here.

Twenty minutes later, she saw wild berry shrubs growing densely not far from her. Looking at the wild berries, her eyes lit up, and she hastened her steps.

When she looked closer, she saw the shrubs were filled with wolfberries. Seeing so many berries, she couldn’t help but salivate. Thinking about her farmland, she wondered if she could put these shrubs into her system farmland and plant them there.

As soon as this thought appeared in her mind, a blue screen appeared in front of her. As usual, there were several sentences there.

”Wild berry shrubs were found. All requirements are fulfilled. The system orchard can be unlocked. Do you want to unlock the orchard?”

The moment Yao Zhi read this, she asked, ”System, how much do I have to pay to unlock the orchard?”

As she had expected, she heard a ding sound and a mechanical voice echoed in her mind.

”Host, to unlock the orchard, you only need to pay 100,000 points.”

Yao Zhi rubbed her chin and thought for a moment before she asked again, ”System, if I unlock the orchard, will I get any free gift?”

”The host will receive a random gift box upon unlocking the orchard.”

Hearing this, Yao Zhi nodded and said, ”System, I want to unlock the system orchard.”

”Unlocking the new feature, Orchard.”

The next second, her points were deducted and a system orchard appeared on the system panel.

Yao Zhi used her mind to inspect the orchard and noticed that the location of the orchard was beside the farmland. Both shared the same water sources.

After she opened the orchard, she dug the wild berry shrubs and planted them in the system orchard. With the black soil and the river water, these berries would taste more delicious in the future.

When she was done, she opened her storage and saw a box inside. Feeling curious, she tapped on it. The next moment, the mechanical voice echoed in her mind.

”Host, do you want to open the random gift box?”

”Open it.”

The next moment, the box flashed brightly. When the light dimmed, the box disappeared. On the blue screen, there were several rows of icons.

Yao Zhi checked the gift one by one before she nodded in satisfaction. She had received a total of 30 types of fruit trees, with each type having a total of 10 trees.

Besides the trees, she also received a manager for her orchard. With the manager, she didn’t have to harvest the fruits manually. Every 10 days, the fruits would mature and could be harvested.

After she set the orchard up for automatic management, she realized that the orchard also had 9 plots with an area of one acre per plot, the same as the farmland.
