Transmigrated To Ancient Time: Thrive With An Auction System!

Chapter 5: Bad Impressions

Noticing Wang Shen’s hesitation, Yao Zhi asked, ”Aunt, is my relationship with my husband bad?”

After hesitating for a long time, Wang Shen finally said, ”Well, both of you didn’t spend time together for too long. Your husband is busy with work and only returned for a few hours when you first arrived and during your wedding.”

After she heard this, Yao Zhi was taken aback. ”You mean that I only met my husband for a few hours and have lived separately from him since then?” she asked with a hint of disbelief.

Wang Shen nodded at Yao Zhi’s words and tried to comfort her. ”Girl, don’t blame your husband. The situation at the border is tense lately. The barbarians are harassing the border, and the army has to increase patrols.”

”Although your husband can’t leave the barracks now, a squad leader will have two days off every month. Your husband should be able to return home in a few days.”

Yao Zhi was not happy to hear this news. She didn’t know her husband’s personality or if he liked the original owner. After all, everyone was attracted to beautiful things. With her current physique, she was sure that her husband wouldn’t like her.

Noticing that she was upset, Wang Shen thought that she was unhappy because her husband left soon after their marriage. They didn’t even consummate their marriage. So, it’s normal for her to be unhappy.

Not knowing how to comfort her, she only patted her hand and reminded her, ”Right now, you should focus on getting more rest and get well soon. Don’t think too much. I will go invite the physician.”

”Aunt, no need to invite the physician,” Yao Zhi stopped her. After a moment of pause, she added embarrassedly, ”I have no money to pay the consultation fee.”

When Wang Shen heard this, she reached into her sleeve and took out a pouch. She poured out several pieces of silver and bronze coins on the bed and counted them.

After she was done, she handed a piece of silver and several coins to her while saying, ”Your husband gave me two taels of silver to buy medicine for you. This is what’s left.”

”Keep the money and use it sparingly. It’s not easy for your husband to earn money,” she added before leaving the house.

Yao Zhi stared at the money in her hand and thought about the system. After a moment, she muttered, ”Can I sell it on the auction platform?”

The next moment, a blue screen appeared in front of her. She looked at the empty storage and picked up one of the coins. The moment the coin touched the screen, it disappeared from her fingers and reappeared inside the blue screen.

From her experience playing games, she roughly understood how the auction system worked. She had to put the items into the storage first before she could put them on the platform for auctioning.

Since she didn’t know how much this coin was worth, she tried to sell one first.

She tapped on the register button and saw that the starting price of the coin was eight hundred points. She didn’t change the price and put it for auction directly. The auction would take eight hours to complete.

Since she had nothing to do and no longer felt weak, Yao Zhi went to draw some well water and started cleaning the house. Living in a dirty house was not good for her health.

It took her two hours to wipe the entire house clean. Afterward, she used the broom made of dried branches to sweep the floor and went to tidy the front yard and backyard.

When she was done, the sun was already setting on the western horizon. Wiping the sweat on her forehead, she drew some well water and used a piece of cloth to wipe her body.

The weather was hot, and the well water was cool. After cleaning up herself, she felt refreshed. Even though she couldn’t wash her hair, it was better than nothing.

Yao Zhi rummaged through the wooden cabinets before she found a set of clean clothes. After she changed her clothes, she went to the kitchen to boil some drinking water and made a simple vegetable porridge for dinner.

To remove the mossy smell, she added a drop of spiritual spring water into the water and the porridge.

While she was having dinner, Fu Chen’an had just finished washing his face and went to get his dinner. In the barracks, everyone ate together in a specific area near the kitchen.

Not long after he sat down, Xiao Wei sat beside him. Glancing at the dark circles under his friend’s eyes, he asked, ”You can’t sleep well?”

Fu Chen’an didn’t answer him and continued eating his hard, dried bun.

Noticing his bad mood, Xiao Wei let out a sigh and said, ”If you dislike her, why did you marry her? The childhood engagement was promised by your grandpa and her grandpa. You owe her nothing.”

This time, Fu Chen’an finally said, ”I didn’t dislike her.”

Xiao Wei raised his eyebrows when he heard this.

Their Great Yan Dynasty put a lot of importance on civil officials compared to military officers. Because of the rising fame of the scholars, men and women preferred people with jade-like beauty and willow-like waists.

Even though they couldn’t marry celestial beauties, most men still preferred women with slim body shapes and beautiful, delicate features.

Fu Chen’an’s wife was renowned since the moment she arrived in their military compound. Not only because she was a woman weighing almost two hundred jins but also because she had a very bad temper.

Despite her bad appearance, she was arrogant, overbearing, and selfish. Even on the wedding day, she still disregarded her husband’s face and got into a fight with a woman from the nearby village.

Xiao Wei didn’t attend the wedding, but from what his wife told him, he had a bad impression of his friend’s wife. Therefore, when his friend said that he didn’t dislike that woman, he didn’t believe him at all.
