Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 992: Chapter 415: Faith Virus 3

Looking at Shi Ning, the true creator of the Faith Virus, his face remained calm, though his tone showed some dread when mentioning the Faith Virus.

Seeing this, he couldn’t help but ask, ”Then why don’t you use the Faith Virus against the Peaceful Sect?”

As soon as these words were spoken, the room instantly fell silent and the atmosphere became awkward.

Hou Jingchuan hesitated for a moment and said somewhat helplessly:

”Among Evil Gods, there are differences in strength. The Evil God Cults like the Peaceful Sect have Evil Gods behind them that are too powerful. The suppressive power of the Abyss Game triggered by the Faith Virus can only affect their followers and not the Evil God itself.”

”As long as their main body is not harmed, rebuilding the Evil God Cult is just a matter of time.”

”However, you don’t need to worry. Our target this time is the Bright Society and their members sent into the dungeon. They cannot resist the suppressive power of the Abyss Game.”

Seeing the uneasy expressions of the high-levels of the Four Major Organizations, Wu Chang’s gaze was determined. He reviewed all the sad events of his life to keep from laughing out loud.

As he suspected, Hou Jingchuan had previously mentioned that before the appearance of the Faith Virus, the Abyss Game did not have titles for the three major Evil God Cults. So why were these titles created only after the Faith Virus appeared?

Either the Four Major Organizations were using rebels to strengthen themselves, or the three major Evil God Cults were too resilient, and the Faith Virus had limited impact on them.

Evil God Cults that are not strong enough are eliminated. The remaining three, who stand firm and unaffected, naturally become the three major Evil God Cults.

Listening all the way, the effect of the Faith Virus is strong and particularly suitable for the current scenarios.

From the intelligence brought back by Xu Dejun, it’s clear that the method the Bright Society uses to affect the World Dungeon plane was learned from the Evil God Cult’s methods. It can even be said that within the World Dungeon plane, the Bright Society is equivalent to a player organization of Evil God Cults.

Using their transmitted faith as a fuse, once the Faith Virus erupts, everything the Bright Society does will be counteracted by the plane’s order and punished by the suppressive power of the Abyss Game.

But then the question arises, since the Faith Virus is so appropriate and useful, why do the Four Major Organizations hesitate until they are forced into a corner to use this power?

Wu Chang leaned forward, pressing one hand on the conference table in front of him, and asked that classic question.

”Mr. Hou, I already understand the effect of the Faith Virus, but what is the cost of using it?”

Mentioning the word ’cost’, the eyes of the high-levels of the Four Major Organizations became evasive. The cost of the Faith Virus was difficult for even them to accept.

Shi Ning spoke to answer Hou Jingchuan:

”The cost is that the Faith Virus will further cause the dungeon to lose control, greatly increasing the dungeon difficulty.”

”The Faith Virus will trigger the dungeon plane’s immunity to counteract the influence brought to the World Dungeon by the Bright Society. But the changes occurring in the dungeon plane will not only target the Bright Society; they will also target players.”

”Even the presence of players itself affects the order of the dungeon plane and is something that the dungeon plane rejects.”

Wu Chang exhaled in relief, realizing the cost was only the minor issue of increasing dungeon difficulty.

If it weren’t about the secret of his Talent, he would have wanted to advise everyone on the spot.

”Don’t worry, in any dungeon I participate in, the Abyss Game Administrator will maximize the dungeon difficulty, leaving no room for increase.”

But this also makes sense regarding why Hou Jingchuan mentioned that the Four Major Organizations abandoned that World Dungeon when using the Faith Virus for the first time.

The reason is that the Faith Virus causes the dungeon difficulty to spiral out of control, heading into unknown development.

Back then, the reason Evil God Cultists suffered heavy damages in that World Dungeon was probably not just because of the suppressive power of the Abyss Game but rather due to the dungeon’s loss of control.

And the hesitation of the Four Major Organizations lies in the fact that this World Dungeon is too important to them to abandon.

This World Dungeon will become a turning point for the real world and the beginning of the next stage for the Abyss Game.

Missing this World Dungeon is equivalent to missing the future; they cannot possibly give it up.

Using the Faith Virus now can be described as killing a thousand enemies at the cost of losing eight hundred of their own, tantamount to exploding with the Bright Society, no wonder they made the decision so difficultly.

On the other side, Wu Chang True Self was listening to Hou Jingchuan and Shi Ning describe the Faith Virus, while his main body was inquiring the All-Knowing Crystal.

The All-Knowing Crystal’s answer was generally consistent with Hou Jingchuan and Shi Ning’s description, only with some details supplemented by the All-Knowing Crystal.

For example, the reason the Faith Virus has a reporting effect is because creating the Faith Virus requires using the highest authority of the Four Major Organizations.

Only temporary management authority at the highest authority level can use the ability of the Abyss Game Administrator to some extent and trigger the suppressive power of the Abyss Game.

The cost of creating the Faith Virus is high, requiring a large amount of expensive extraordinary items, equivalent in value to an S-Level item.

Each time it is created, the highest authority of the Four Major Organizations will become unusable for a period of time.

Beyond that, Hou Jingchuan and others reserved one piece of information from him.

In the conference room, Hou Jingchuan said, ”Lord Peace, regarding the Faith Virus, there’s one more thing I think you should know.”

Wu Chang asked, ”What?”

Hou Jingchuan said cautiously:

”Although the Faith Virus uses faith as the fuse, enhancing the faith’s disruption to the plane’s order, once its reporting effect takes effect, violations apart from faith may also be targeted by the suppressive power of the Abyss Game.”

”If you open it, um, if you use some improper methods accidentally while tackling the dungeon, you might get implicated.”

Wu Chang glanced at Hou Jingchuan, secretly thinking that Hou Jingchuan was honest enough to mention the only possible risk.

But Hou Jingchuan was wrong; Wu Chang’s performance in the dungeon was all based on sweat and effort, with no violation.

He said, ”I’ll take the job.”
