Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 973: Chapter 409: Divinity and the Red Moon_2

Before Han’er could confirm, Wick had already sensed his gaze and turned his head.

In the moment their eyes met, both were filled with heartfelt ecstasy.

There was something wrong, definitely something wrong.

As afternoon arrived, the White Wolf, as the Divine Envoy, was arranging a ritual in the Sirena City District.

To trigger a miracle, simply relying on the believers brought by the Capital was not enough; it was necessary to evoke the dormant Power of this once Holy City.

Han’er and the others were responsible for locating once-glorious sects, using these sites as nodes for the ritual to extract the residual Power of Faith.

After healing from the White Wolf, along with the recovery of Extraordinary Power, Han’er and the others had regained their mobility, but Wick still arranged a carriage for everyone.

Wick arranged a separate carriage for Simmons and the others, but he stayed in the same carriage as Han’er.

In the carriage, Han’er asked:

”Archbishop Wick, you left me behind, is there something you need?”

Wick smiled and said, ”Nothing particular, just that you are different from them.”

”How are we different?” Han’er asked nervously, worried that Wick saw through his desire to sever his ties with the Extraordinary.

Wick said lightly, ”The God you believe in is real, while the ones they believe in are fake.”

Han’er didn’t expect Wick to speak so bluntly and didn’t know how to respond for a moment.

The carriage continued forward, carrying the two to assess the situation in Sirena City. Wick looked out of the window, face as calm as water, seemingly pondering something.

Wick’s demeanor left Han’er unsure, uncertain of what the other intended to do, so he probed:

”Archbishop Wick, the divine revelation you mentioned earlier, is it from the God of the Soul Light Sect?”

Wick shifted his gaze from the window and replied:

”Yes, the Soul Light Sect, capable of triggering miracles, worships a True God.”

”A sect with a True God has widespread faith, just like the Eternal Light Church, the Soul Light Church also has a large number of believers in the Capital. President Thompson converted to the Soul Light Sect.”

Han’er continued to ask, ”Since you can discern the presence of a True God, why not convert to the Soul Light Sect, instead of holding onto the Spirit Medicine Sect?”

Wick did not answer immediately. He remained silent for so long that Han’er realized how offensive his question had been and was about to apologize when Wick finally said:

”Isn’t it more worthwhile to be remembered by people as part of the faith than to become a mere follower of a God?”

Han’er was stunned for a moment and asked, ”What do you mean?”

Wick shook his head and said, ”Nothing, forget it.”

As the sun gradually set, a group appeared outside Sirena City.

They were dressed like ascetics of old, carrying simple bags, led by a middle-aged man, appearing outside Sirena City.

The number of these people was immense, roughly estimated at two to three thousand.

Sirena had not seen so many people in a long time, let alone so many believers.

They were the main source of faith for tonight.

Two to three thousand people seemed like a lot, but the ones who appeared here were almost all the believers the Capital could muster.

Once the Mikel Kingdom had faith for everyone; now, only two to three thousand believers remained, highlighting the decline of faith over time.

Before entering the city, several accompanying Transcendents let out joyful moans as the Extraordinary Power inside them was awakened by the Ability of the White Wolf.

One of the Transcendents moved swiftly, appearing in front of the middle-aged man, saying:

”President Thompson, we have arrived in Sirena, the divine revelation was true, reaching the Holy City can indeed restore our Extraordinary Power!”

Thompson turned and addressed the crowd behind him: ”We have reached the Holy City mentioned in the divine revelation. Does anyone not remember the ritual blueprints shown to you on the way?”

Seeing no response, Thompson said: ”Very well, let us begin entering Sirena. Tonight, we will witness the reappearance of miracles and the descent of the God!”

The believers poured into Sirena, needing no further guidance, and formed five groups, guided by Transcendents, heading towards five different areas within the city.

At this moment, Sirena was divided into five areas: east, west, south, north, and center. Each area selected six nodes for the ritual.

Guided by the Transcendents, they first found Simmons and others in the area. Led by several Archbishops, they proceeded to the ruined cathedral serving as a ritual node.

They used the cathedral as a center, arranging themselves around it according to a pre-determined formation.

The Archbishops couldn’t understand the meaning of the people’s arrangement but instinctively felt a slight unease from the formation.

After helping the foreign believers locate the ritual nodes, the five Archbishops returned to their respective churches, discovering that the believers they had summoned were, at the White Wolf’s request, also formed similarly to the foreign believers.

The foreign believers occupied six ritual nodes in each area, combined with the remaining five sects in Sirena and the ruins of the Soul Light Cathedral at its center, forming a total of thirty-six ritual nodes.

If viewed from above, the thirty-six ritual nodes, complemented by the believers forming an array, outlined a Mystical Array created by people.

Han’er stood at the Eternal Light Church, looking at the more than one hundred believers around the church, his eyes filled with worry.

Though these believers worshiped the Eternal Light Sect, after contact with the White Wolf, they seemed bewitched, standing rigidly in their places, unmoving.
