Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 974: Chapter 409: Divinity and Red Moon_3

Even Han’er, the Archbishop, asked everyone to take a break, but they seemed not to have heard.

Thirty-six ritual nodes were set up, and the sky had completely darkened.

Before Han’er could speak, the followers standing outside lit torches in unison.

Han’er looked into the distance and saw countless torches igniting in Sirena City. The orderly flames revealed a sense of sacredness, but there was also a hint of eeriness.

Before Han’er could recover from the scene, a voice suddenly appeared behind him.

”Quite a spectacle, Han’er. Did you call us here just to watch this ceremony?”

Following the voice, Han’er turned around to see Wu Chang and Erin had appeared behind him without notice.

In previous days, he was reluctant to have them step out of the small two-story building and face the crowd, afraid someone might recognize Erin as the Eternal Pure Light and rekindle belief in miracles.

But now it was different. Seeing the two appear at this moment felt as though he was seeing the Savior of the Plane.

”You finally came.”

Wu Chang curiously glanced outside and said:

”Let me take a look at what’s happening outside; a mystical ceremony, the Power of Root, and a faint...”

Wu Chang and Erin exchanged a glance before continuing, ”a faint trace of Divine Power.”

”I’ve been away for seven days, and Sirena has changed beyond recognition. Han’er, can you tell me what’s going on?”

Using Erin’s lap pillow, Wu Chang relieved the Heart Power consumed by researching the Power of Mystical Root Source and learned Han’er had sought him out with concerns, thus he immediately checked what Han’er had left behind.

Besides daily necessities, Han’er left a note saying that if he didn’t return before dark, Wu Chang and Erin should demonstrate miracles.

Reading the note puzzled Wu Chang since not long ago, Han’er intended to be the extraordinary Gravekeeper, but now suddenly wanted the extraordinary to be revived?

Upon leaving the building, he found Han’er was at the Eternal Light Church and brought Erin to find Han’er to inquire about the situation.

Yet, upon meeting Han’er, before he could ask, he realized Sirena’s situation was unusual.

Han’er explained the recent events, including Wick gaining divine insight, joining forces with Thompson to spark miracles, and today’s appearance of the Soul Light Church’s Divine Envoy.

Listening to the earlier part, Wu Chang hadn’t taken it seriously, but upon hearing about the Divine Envoy of the Soul Light Sect, his expression changed.

If memory serves, Soul Light Sect is the alias of the Peaceful Sect within the Midnight Graveyard Plane.

Is Leman sending people inside the Midnight Graveyard Plane?

The Midnight Graveyard Plane has been barren for thirty years, lacking miracles, causing the decline of Extraordinary Power.

Yet shortly after his entrance into the scenario, Leman dispatched people, indicating it wasn’t a coincidence.

While pondering Leman’s motives, there was commotion outside the church.

A piercing whistle echoed in the silent night sky.

Wu Chang instinctively raised his head just in time to see the moon, which Erin had chipped, move to the zenith.

Thud.

Amidst the whistle, the statue-like followers outside simultaneously knelt, facing the center of Sirena in a worshipful posture.

They were chanting unknown scriptures.

As the chanting echoed, their expressions twisted in apparent agony, yet they couldn’t interrupt their chanting and had to continue.

Through the Eye of Breaking Method, Wu Chang saw their Life Force, Power of Faith, and Power of Emotion were being forcibly extracted by the so-called miracle-guiding ceremony.

The energy being extracted forcibly flowed through the mystical ceremony, converging at two central nodes, one large and one small.

The large central node, the ruins of the Soul Light Cathedral at Sirena’s center, witnessed the growth of Divine Power as the Power of Faith poured in.

It seemed as if a Divine Seed was budding with the aid of the Power of Faith.

The smaller central node was located at Wick’s Spirit Medicine Cathedral, radiating a faint Light of Faith.

The Light of Faith appeared linked with the moonlight of the damaged moon, drawing the moon downwards.

Besides pulling the moon downwards, the node projected the pain of the followers into the moon, causing it to turn a faint red.

Interesting.

But only slightly interesting.

The power within the Spirit Medicine Cathedral hadn’t yet reached the Root Power Level and posed no threat; he was more focused on the large node’s Soul Light Divine Envoy.

Wu Chang pointed towards the center of Sirena and said, ”Stay here, don’t move. I’ll check what’s happening over there, rest assured, I won’t let the Soul Light Sect successfully create a miracle.”

Han’er discerned Wu Chang’s intent and asked, ”After resolving them, won’t you accept the faith here?”

Wu Chang shook his head, ”I promised not to create miracles in this world.”

Han’er’s eyebrows subtly twitched as he glanced towards the Spirit Medicine Cathedral and said, ”If that’s the case, I’d like to go there and take a look.”

Wu Chang furrowed his eyebrows, contemplating stopping Han’er, but Han’er promptly added:

”As a survivor of the miracle era, I wish to confront him personally, and if I’m to be the extraordinary Gravekeeper, I’d like to personally fill the last shovel of dirt.”

Wu Chang hesitated but upon realizing Han’er had limited time left, decided to allow Han’er to pursue his desire in his remaining days.

However, before Han’er took action, he said, ”If you’re going to fill the last shovel of dirt for the extraordinary, how could you do it without a shovel?”

With that, he activated the Tree of Miracles’ ability.

”Item Skills: Miracle”

”Skill Description: Consumes Wish Power to invoke small-scale miracles, fulfilling the user’s desires. If Wish Power is insufficient to support the desire’s realization, forcibly invoking it could lead to uncertain negative effects.”

As the true owner of the Eternal Light Church, with Erin present, the miracle-guiding ceremony couldn’t steal the Wish Power accumulated here.

The retained Wish Power was injected into the Tree of Miracles, transforming into a ray of light that descended upon Han’er.

After the light faded, Han’er’s gaze became especially resolute.

Feeling the changes in his body, he didn’t sense any physical enhancement but felt he possessed boundless strength.

”What did you do?”

Wu Chang shrugged and said, ”Just increased your courage a little.”

The miracle Wu Chang invoked was simple, raising Han’er’s Will Attribute to fifty points.

Then, he retrieved the Light of Steadfastness Erin had replaced from his personal space and handed it to Han’er.

Han’er recognized this hammer, as Erin had used it to shatter the first miracle.

He gripped the hammer, bowed to Wu Chang and Erin, and then ran towards the Spirit Medicine Cathedral with the hammer in hand.
